Kon was flying in from the south, just shooting along fast, arrowing in above the atmosphere to avoid sonic booms, and otherwise shivering slightly from nervousness and uncertainty. This would be the first time he talked to anyone about Jane... about her vanishing. He swallowed as he slowed and dipped back into the atmosphere. He flew toward the Empire State Building and hoped he did not make too big a fool of himself. He hated losing people, especially like this. How did you mourn when there was no closure?
He shook his head as he alighted on the top of the building and looked around, still kind of not all there, his mind concentrating on not being silly. Silly, here, was defined as bursting into tears or just not moving, not blinking at all, in Kon's mind.
