He did manage to find some humor in that question of desiring someone even when she was old and gray, but as soon as her smile disappeared, he grew serious again. "I'm just worried about your well-being. I know that you'll always be able to afford anything you ever need or want if something did happen, but...I don't want you to be alone. I just want you to have someone to love and take care of you the way I would have just in case." He didn't want to bring up the disease at all but that still hovered in his mind a lot, even if a so called God said she'd cured her.
He ran his hand down his face. "I don't even know why this has been so important to me lately. Maybe with the recent series of things that got out of hand, with your sickness and...I just worry because I love you."
