Kimber nodded, smiling some. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm sure you're right. It's just rough. I feel kinda guilty being happy when she's going through this, y'know?" She leaned against the counter.

When she'd first found out about what happened, Kimber had been upset, on Carrie's behalf, she guessed. She'd canceled dates with Ollie because it didn't seem right to have fun while her best friend was so distraught. But after a couple weeks, with Carrie not calling and Kimber being so out of the loop, she started getting back to her normal life. What else could she do? She wanted to support Carrie, but Carrie wasn't letting her.
