She listened again, attempting to do it patiently. It was hard to be really mad at him now, though she had been for awhile when she faced being a single mother. But there were questions she needed answered. She was more frustrated, maybe still hurt, than angry.
"Do you know what I went through, Clark? I was suddenly pregnant, with no clear idea of how it'd happened, and both Superman and Clark -- my friend, my partner, were gone. The two people I would've turned to in a time like that, and you were gone. Would you have left if you'd known I was pregnant? Did you know you'd be gone that long?" Her voice was searching, her face showing her near desperation for the answers. "I have to believe the answer's no, but..." She had to hear it from him. It was that simple.
And whatever she'd been feeling before quickly changed into surprise. Surprise that he could, surprise that he'd offered. "You can undo it?" she repeated, eyebrows raised high. "I..." She'd seen what had happened, but those were only movies that covered the major events. The entire process of finding out Superman's identity and the time spent with him couldn't be fully grasped in a two hour feature film.
