Echo worried that she should have just let things be and figure out how to manage on her own, but part of her wanted to give Siirus a chance to love or hate her before hiding away forever. It was still hard for her to understand why he didn't know her or her mom, but there was nothing to be done about that now and she couldn't go home. The other side of the coin was, Echo was excited to see him again, despite the fact that he didn't have a clue who she was seemed to fade away when she focused on how wonderful it was to have him alive again.

Finding the address with ease Echo stood in front staring at the rather large house and tried to work up the courage to ring the bell. It wasn't that it was that hard to press a button to ring a bell, it was simply she was terrified of seeing a man that had been dead to her for so long. Taking one last deep breath Echo finally walked up the front walk to the door and rang the bell.

Sirius was in the middle of being made the prisoner his young daughter and was quite tied up in blankets when the bell rang. "Er, just a moment," he called, wiggling out of the bonds and standing up. He tossed the blanket over Brenna's head, who let out a girlish little squeal. As he walked to the door he made an effort to smooth down his tousled hair, but ruled it a lost cause.

Sirius opened the door, smiling brightly to his new guest. "Hello," he said with enthusiasm. "Please, come in."

	Echo stood there nervously, her fingers fiddling with the hem of her shirt as she shifted from one foot to the other. "Hi.." As she greeted him her hair, as she had warned him would happen, changed color to a soft purple. "If you were busy..." She started but he invited her in so she followed." Sirius had been prepared to get a hug from Echo, but she seemed too nervous. No matter. He was still smiling as he closed the door behind both of them. "Not at all. Come in, come in. Brenna, come out and say hello, please." The seven-year-old girl had stumbled over to the door, the blanket still over her head like a ghost costume.

Brenna pulled off the blanket and gave Echo a grin missing a few teeth. "Hi!"

Sirius patted the girl on the head before looking back to Echo. "Please, sit down."

	Echo smiled at the young girl and greeted her by kneeling down to be on her level. "Hi" She said simply as their eyes met. Then she rose and looked back at Sirius. "Thank you..." She started as she did as she was asked. "You really don't have to do this." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Brenna reached out to touch Echo's hair, clearly impressed. "Cool."

Sirius shook his head. "Nonsense," he said, sitting down across from her. "I lost all of my friends for a long time," he said, his voice growing hushed as he spoke of his years in Azkaban. "I don't see any reason to turn away people now." He gave her a warm smile. "Now. Can I get you something to eat or drink?"

	She began to relax and her hair changed again to a light lime green. As that last change happened Echo noticed the amazment in Brenna's eyes and smiled allowing the young child to sit next to her. "I'm fine thank you..." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Sirius smiled, pleased to see the girls getting along. "Echo, this is my daughter, Brenna." He glanced back at the stairs. "I think Ginger and Bret are taking a nap. You'll meet them later, I'm sure." "Have you had a chance to meet anyone or see any sights?" He wasn't quite sure what to ask, really. He hoped she hadn't been sleeping on the street or anything. She smiled at the young child. "Nice to meet you Brenna.." She said then looked toward the stairs. "I'm sorry I don't get to meet them now..." She realized just how stupid that was to say, she would meet them eventually.

"No Sir, I've been so busy trying to figure out what happened, and so on, I didn't think to do more. I did manage to find Hermione and Ron on the board, but Hermione didn't know who I was either, so I didn't bother sending Ron a message."

"It's fine," Sirius said, waving a hand at her apology. He didn't scoff; it was quite understandable for her to be nervous. Had he been away from his family, he would likely be much more out of sorts about this sort of meeting. He just hoped she would grow comfortable soon.

He nodded. "Well, you may try talking to them. You can't just go around alone because people don't know you. You'll have to make friends, and Ron and Hermione are good ones to have." He sounded very fatherly, and blinked a bit at himself. That wasn't terribly like him. And he was sure Echo didn't want a lecture from someone she'd never met.

she smiled. "You are a good father, I can tell." She said with a smile. "Honestly you are very different from the last time I saw...well you, but not you, this is all very difficult to grasp." Echo added as she rubbed her head a but.

"I remember being so mad at Harry, truth was I was just jealous that he was with you when...well you know." As she spoke she looked down to hide the sadness in her eyes.

"I will contact them, I just need to get a grasp on what happened."

Sirius smiled warmly. "Thank you." He was about to ask her when the last time she saw him was, but it became clear. So apparently her universe wasn't that different from his own.

He smiled reassuringly to her. "Well, I've been very lucky, here. James and Lily are here, I have Ginger and the kids.. I'm happy." He reached out to squeeze her hand. "I hope you'll be happy here too, Echo."

	The moment his hand grasped hers her body tensed, not because she didn't want it, but because it was something she had missed. Sirius nodded. "I know. If it's any consolation, I've been here a long time. People who came here after me.. They don't remember each other being gone. It isn't as if you've died. I don't have a way to explain it, really.. But no one here has showed up and asked their friends and family why they abandoned them before."

He shook his head a little. "I'm not making sense."

	She smiled a pained smile. "I understand what you mean, I really do Uncl...I mean Sir." She said correcting herself because she wasn't sure he wanted to be addressed so casually. 	That actually made her smile, a bright smile. "Thank you Uncle Sirius." When he said something about her mom knowing how Echo really felt she nodded. "that may be, but it doesn't make me feel bad for the things I said." Echo explained. "She was just so protective since what happened with...you know who, and she was just driving me insane." Sirius nodded some. They had been dark times. And while Sirius really didn't know much about having a loving mother, he knew how strongly he felt for his children. "I believe that's some sort of curse inherent to the mother-daughter relationship." He smiled a bit. "It's all right. I don't know how it is, but I don't think she's sitting at home wondering where you are. Somehow she knows it's okay.

Sirius nodded, frowning. "It's all right," he said. It's a rough thing to go through. I hope you'll find things a little better here."

Brenna was squirming around and Sirius motioned for her to come to him. "Why don't you go get ready for bed, Brenna." He ruffled her hair and then patted her back to send her off to the bathroom.

"She might come. Sometimes people show up. There's always a chance that your mother will follow you here."

	She watched Brenna leave then turned back to her uncle. "god I hope not." She said. "Its not that I don't love her, because I do, but having her here would drive me nuts. I just want her to know I am sorry, and that I really do love her." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

She followed him. "Yeah well no offense, but your family sucked along with moms..well aside from Aunt Narcissa..but yeah for the most part you two and someone named Andromeda were the only ones who didn't totally suck." She said rather boldly as they entered the kitchen.

"I guess, but no tea please." She begged. "Between you and Mrs Weasley I may never drink tea again...well I mean You and Mrs Weasley where I come from...or well before you, you know...okay shutting up now."

He chuckled. "Molly does love her tea." He took down a few glasses from the cabinets and opened the refrigerator to show her the selection. It was well-stocked, and the inordinate number of juice boxes made it obvious that small children lived here.

"One usually has to get blasted off the Black family tree before they can actually be considered a human being." Narcissa wasn't really Sirius' favorite, but he said nothing.

"Yes she does...a bit more than most should." Echo said about Molly. "But she always had a place for me when I couldn't go home." Echo explained.

"Yes well, I think the only exception was Aunt Narcissa, but that was probably only for mine and Draco's benefit, not that that little blond haired weasel deserved it." There was no love lost for Draco, mostly because where she was from he had made every effort to torture her because she was half blood.

Echo took this moment to look at the drink selection and chose a soda from the shelf. "I mean if it is okay.." She said holding up the can for permission.
