He nodded and laid a hand on her arm, not quite leaning, but not quite walking completely on his own as he walked with her. They had to stop for him to sign papers and the nurses looked utterly disapproving of this strange woman sweeping their patient off. Doug stood firm, and led the way, doing his best to not let his weakness show as they made their way into the elevator.
Once inside, he rested against one wall.
"I hate hospitals. As a kid I spent entirely too much time in them. I was always the kid who was slower, weaker."
