Laurie watched him in that brief moment of pause, and she could see he was full of so much, so many things that she in reality would never ber able to comprehend. She'd just met him, just been chased by him, and suddenly she was here, and he was her brother. It was scary, and in that, comforting to know something about herself. To know once, she had had a big family, even if it hadn't worked out. She felt sorry for her mother, her real mother suddenly. How sad it must have been to lose two of her children in such horrible ways.
Question bubbled in her as to why she would then take her life with a baby still in her care, but she quickly reminded herself someone that griefstricken probably wouldn't be up for parent of the year. Her face reflected her thoughtfulness, but did not show any sign of fear, or anger. Just thought, his words brought that happy little smile back to her face and she nodded. "That's really nice of you, thanks. I'll return the favor some day."
