Warnings: Probably nothing. We are talking about Padfoot, though, so there may be rampant nudity.

Moony was in his room reading, trying to catch up on all the classes he missed while acting like Padfoot and during the full moon. It wasn't like he really was behind, but not being two weeks ahead was being behind for Moony, so being only on schedule was very bad. He looked up when he heard Padfoot coming into the apartment. He debated for a moment and decided to stay put reading and wait for Padfoot to come pounce him instead of getting up now to get pounced.

Sirius nuzzled into Moony's side, burying his face in the other man's chest. "I don't know. Something. Maybe nothing." He frowned, his eyebrows furrowing slightly.

He sat up a little, knowing Remus may full well want to get away from Sirius when he finally told him. Sirius was still touching him, but not smothering or restraining him.

"You know how there were a lot of me? Well. You know." Moony knew better than anyone.

"Right. Because I'm so fantastic and you're madly in love with me, yeah? Remember that part for later." Sirius ran a hand through his hair.

"Look. So, there were a lot. Didn't even have an accurate headcount of how many were out there, and I couldn't control them, or anything. One of them actually spent all week in a library, so obviously there were weird identity issues, right?" Padfoot shifted slightly. "Once they all disappeared, I remembered the stuff they did." He took a deep breath. "One of them slept with Wormtail."

Moony just looked at him for a moment. Trying to process all that Padfoot told him.

"Oh. Are you.... Does he...." Moony looked down, trying to organize the five-billion questions so that he could ask just one, or at least respond. "So Wormtail does like you... like that." It was the stupidest thing he could have said, and he knew it. Of course he did. Everyone liked Padfoot like that. What kind of stupid statement was that.

	Sirius leaned forward, thrusting a hand in his own hair and tangling his fingers up in it, trying to give himself something to focus on besides looking Moony in the face. "I don't know. There really were just too many thoughts going on. Moony wasn't really sure what to say. "You should do that. I. I don't know what the difference is between Prongs and Pete, but I'm not okay with this. I mean I am. You weren't really you and I know that. I know that better than anyone. I mean. I don't want him as a fourth. I don't know what's so different. I really don't. And I know you're not saying that you want him as a fourth, but if you go talk to him and that's what he wants... I just don't know." Moony moved forward and nuzzled into Padfoot's chest. "I love you."

Padfoot blinked a little and nodded. He heard what Moony was saying. He wasn't completely sure he understood it. It wasn't like he was petitioning for Pete to be included, but it almost felt like discriminating against the guy. Leaving him out, somehow. He wasn't all gung-ho about sex with Pete, but he didn't know what they'd do if Pete felt like the odd man out. Weird dynamics going on in the Marauders.

He kept all this inside--God, he hoped it was inside--and nuzzled the top of Moony's head, running a hand through his hair. "Yeah. I'll talk to him."

Moony curled up into Padfoot. He was scared. He didn't really know why, but he was. He didn't think Padfoot would leave him, or anything like that, it was just that things were changing Moony wasn't ready for all this. Wormatail then Lily and now all of this. He wasn't ready for it.

He leaned up and kissed him. He needed that. He needed the normalcy... if kissing your best friend could be termed as normal.

	Padfoot shifted his body against Moony to better accommodate the other man. He kissed Moony back, pressing closer. He had an idea.. His own ideas about what would help Moony feel better. Moony welcomed the touch. He kissed him and touched him, and hand reaching for his shirt until his stupid brain, his stupid imagination made images of Peter doing this same thing. He pulled back, not able to look up at Padfoot, but not able to move so far away that he wasn't touching him. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

He closed his eyes, trying to just calm down, get over it. He was getting so frustrated with himself, not being able to get the images out of his head. This was stupid, it hadn't been Padfoot.

Sirius pulled his hands back so that he wasn't groping the other man. This was. Well. Fuck. "Yeah, no. It's okay. It's okay." Too soon, too soon. He tried not to look frustrated or disappointed. He knew Moony was sensitive to all that, and really, Padfoot had gone too far. "Should probably let you get back to homework."

He ran a hand through his hair and started to get up, then tried a more honest approach. "Look.. I know it's a lot to work through all at once, and I still haven't got it all worked through myself. You'll need time to think about it, and it's easier to think when I'm not around." Padfoot being such a handsome distraction, and all. "I should probably get out of your hair for a few hours."

Padfoot looked down at Moony, trying to meet his eyes. It was good Moony said it. Good he didn't want Padfoot to go. Padfoot was thinking about running off and getting fucked up on some substance or another. He couldn't call James for that, and he certainly couldn't call Pete. Lily would probably hit him almost as hard as James. Harder, maybe. But hearing Moony wanted him to stay strengthened Padfoot some.. He had to come back all right for Moony. Didn't want Remus to blame himself.

"I love you too." He grabbed Moony's outstretched and and kissed his knuckles. "Don't be sorry. It's all right. I love you. No matter what, I love you." He squeezed his mate's hand. "I'll be back soon, all right? Give you a couple hours quiet and I'll be back in time for bed."
