Jules didn't say anything, just clung on tight to her mother. Somehow she had known that Solvei wouldn't be able to deny her. That she would look into her daughter's eyes and just instinctively know that she belonged to her. She closed her eyes and just held on tightly to her for a few moments while everyone else shuffled around them nervously.
Her mother seemed different to her now. Smaller somehow, yet more robust all at the same time. Sinewy arms wrapped around her small frame were more muscular and lean and her hair was more yellow than Julia remembered.
She blinked a few times, finally focusing her eyes on Dean. "Where's Dylan and Jamie?" She asked him, but he only gave her a puzzled look in return when she asked about her cousins.
Sitting up slightly Julia turned to look at her mother. "What is happening?" She asked her. Things weren't as they should be and everyone looked different. Julia knew she shouldn't be that surprised. After all, she could fly. The realm of possibilities surely couldn't exclude time travel.
