Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:buffy summers, dawn summers, future!dean winchester, julia rayner, solvei samuels

Who: Solvei Samuels, Buffy and Dawn Summers, Julia Rayner, future!Dean Winchester
What: Dawn finding Buffy, Julia finding Mommy and the shock of it all
Where: Buffy's place
When: Today
Warnings: Probably not.

Solvei got the message from Buffy that she needed to head to her place. She didn't waste any time. That was because she doubted Buffy would really ask her for anything unless it was really important. So she picked up the work schedules that she was working on and put them behind the counter. She could finish them later. At the bakery, pretty much all of her employees worked the same hours every week anyway. Unless someone was on vacation or something like that. After she pushed that out of her mind she headed up the stairs and grabbed her jacket (that had her stake in it) and headed back down.

She didn't own a car so she had to walk to Buffy's place. That really didn't bother her that much. When she got there though she noticed that Dean was pulling up in his car. With someone in the passenger seat. She wondered if this was some sort of party and no one told her that's what it was. At the same time she was walking forward, her phone rang. By the time she had gotten it out of her bag it had gone to voice mail. It was the agency calling. She could call whoever it was back later.

That's when she saw Dawn, Buffy's sister come out of Dean's car. Wow, everyone was turning up here these days. "Hey." Sol called over and Dawn came up and hugged her. "Hey Sol, guess this is where you'd gone off to." She nodded at Dawn and said, "Yep, guess it was your turn."

She waved at Dean, "Hey." They all walked up to Buffy's building together. "Hey, do you know what apartment she's in? I haven't been here yet." She asked Dean, hoping he'd know.

Pulling up to Buffy's apartment, Dean noticed Solvei walking up. He looked over at Dawn in the passenger seat before shutting off the car and getting out. He didn't say anything while the two girls reunited and nodded over at Solvei when she waved at him. They all walked up together, pretty much in a single file up the tiny staircase.

"Yeah, it's right here," Dean said before stepping forward and knocking on the door. Finally he just opened it and walked on in.

"Hey, tiny and feisty, guess who I brought back?" He grinned and looked around, finally seeing Buffy walk from the kitchen and to the living room.

"Dawn!" The sister hugged it out and Buffy kept close to her. Dean kept his eyes on them before noticing a little girl walking up.

"Uh ..."

Buffy took a deep breath and looked at Solvei. "This is what I needed to tell you," she said and nodded toward the small, blond girl.

Julia waited patiently for her mother to come to Buffy's house. Buffy didn't know who Jules was but she wouldn't tell her what was going on either. Julia had overheard her talking to her Uncle Dean about going to get Dawn and then to her mother. She couldn't exactly figure out what was going on but something was. That much was clear to her.

She waited pensively by the door until everyone started streaming into Buffy's living room. Dawn, Dean, my mother all came inside and before I could stop myself I hugged my mom and clung onto her hand, standing next to her as I looked at everyone else.

"Where's Daddy?" Julia whispered to her mother curiously. Everyone was staring at her and she knew it, but didn't understand why. She'd spent most of her nine years surrounded by these people but now they were looking at her like she was a complete stranger. Where were her brother and her sister? Dean was here, where was Emily and all of Julia's cousins? There was no Faith either or Pogue and Julia didn't know what to make of it.

"What's wrong?" She asked the room.

Dawn hugged Buffy as soon as she saw her sister. Then they all stood back as a little blond girl came into the room. She hugged onto Solvei and asked her where her daddy was. Was she... what was going on here? I thought Sol and Dean were together. That's not what it seemed like when we pulled up here.

I wasn't sure what was going on but I just stood back.

"Who's your daddy?" Solvei asked the little girl. It was obvious that Sol hadn't figured out the story yet. I hadn't even figured out the story. The little girl looked like Sol a little bit, except for her eyes. They were a very pretty green.

I thought that I could help a little bit. I kneeled down in front of the little girl. "What's your name?"

Buffy wasn't sure what to say to the little girl that showed up on her doorstep. All she knew was that she wasn't going to leave her out there, obviously, so she brought her inside. It was then that the little girl, Julia told Buffy this big story about how Solvei was her mother and Kyle was her father. And of course, that Buffy was Aunt Buffy.

She called Solvei over and asked Dean to go and pick up Dawn. It wasn't until an hour later that everyone was standing her apartment and all eyes were on the little girl that clung to Solvei like there really wasn't any tomorrow.

Dawn knelt down next to Julia and Buffy tilted her head as her arms crossed. "Her name is Julia," Buffy said, but Julia looked back at her as if to say, 'I know my own name.'

What was going on? Julia narrowed her eyes at Dawn when she knelt down in front of her to ask her who she was. Nobody remembered her. It was a pang in her heart as she looked up at Solvei who had asked her who her father was. Her own mother didn't recognize her. Reluctantly, she let go of Solvei's hand and moved a few steps away from everyone, back towards Buffy.

Suddenly she felt like a bug under a microscope.

"Where's my dad?" She asked them, pleaded with them as she looked around. She felt hot tears stinging her eyes because she knew that this was wrong and somehow Kyle would come and explain it all away. He would make it right. That's what dads do.

"Where is he?"

They were still just staring at her blankly. Even Buffy was a false security blanket because she didn't know who Julia was either.

Every thing started to spin in Sol's head with the questions and the looks and when Buffy said what her name was... her own mother's name she knew. Those green eyes, those were Kyle's eyes. But she had no idea how to answer her question on where her Daddy was. Because she really didn't know. She hadn't talked to Kyle since before... yeah, this wasn't good.

This was her daughter. No matter where Kyle was. "Julia, come here. I'm sorry. Mommy just got confused, that's all."

The little girl seemed to think about it for a few seconds but Sol kept her arms open waiting for her to come to her. Once she did Sol lifted her up in her arms and held her as the little girl started to cry a little bit. "I'll find him for you baby. I promise." She looked at everyone over Julia's shoulder with a 'help please' expression on her face. Walking into Buffy's living room she sat down on the couch with Julia on her lap and rocked her a little bit.

Solvei had a kid? Dean just stood there, watching all of this go on and he wasn't sure what to think, but he ... believed it for the most part. Hell, if there was already another Dean here and he showed up, then he was certain that there was another world where things ... man. This was her daughter. He took a deep breath and watched as finally Solvei brought the little girl up and sat down with her, holding her.

Buffy was already moving around the apartment again and bringing in the little girls drink that she must have had in the kitchen. He walked over and sat at the table. He didn't know what to make of all of it, that was for sure, but now at least he knew ... something? Yeah, he was still confused, and now a little skeptical, but it appeared anyone could come through the big tornado, so ... yeah.

Jules didn't say anything, just clung on tight to her mother. Somehow she had known that Solvei wouldn't be able to deny her. That she would look into her daughter's eyes and just instinctively know that she belonged to her. She closed her eyes and just held on tightly to her for a few moments while everyone else shuffled around them nervously.

Her mother seemed different to her now. Smaller somehow, yet more robust all at the same time. Sinewy arms wrapped around her small frame were more muscular and lean and her hair was more yellow than Julia remembered.

She blinked a few times, finally focusing her eyes on Dean. "Where's Dylan and Jamie?" She asked him, but he only gave her a puzzled look in return when she asked about her cousins.

Sitting up slightly Julia turned to look at her mother. "What is happening?" She asked her. Things weren't as they should be and everyone looked different. Julia knew she shouldn't be that surprised. After all, she could fly. The realm of possibilities surely couldn't exclude time travel.

Sol didn't let go of Julia. She was rubbing her back slowly and it was oh so familiar to how she rubbed John's back. Only this child, was much larger. Even if she wasn't very large at all. Sol wondered how old she was and how this was even possible. With this world though? She'd decided to stop questioning.

"Are Dylan and Jamie Uncle Dean's kids?" Sol asked Jules and she nodded. She smiled a little over Julia's head at Dean.

Sol adjusted Julia so she could look into her eyes. "You're from a time that hasn't happened yet for Mommy. That doesn't mean that I don't want you or that all of us don't want you. We just were confused at first. Does that make sense?"

It looked like Julia was taking in everything that Sol had said. Sol knew that she had to get a hold of Kyle and quickly. She just wasn't sure how right now. She figured he was just busy with some Green Lantern thing. Maybe he was helping Bruce and the Bats with the Joker thing or patrolling his different sectors. She wasn't sure how to even tell him. Things were complicated before now. Now they were really really complicated.

Sol heard Dawn in the background talking with Buffy. She thought that Buffy might be explaining to her about the whole you take the place of someone else when you come here. Then Dawn started screeching. "PARIS HILTON!!! NO! UGH! At least I'm rich, right?"

Dylan and Jamie? Dean frowned, keeping his eyes on the little girl who asked him where Dylan and Jamie were. He didn't know who the hell those people were and this little girl ... there was something about her he decided. It wasn't until things became clear when Solvei asked if those were his kids and his eyes went wide a little and his body felt numb. Dean had kids. He actually had kids. He just sat there at the table and rubbed his forehead.

Dylan and Jamie.

Yeah, okay.

He sat there and listened to Buffy and Dawn talking, something about looking for ID cards or whatever. Turning around though when Dawn flipped, he raised his eyebrow.

Paris Hilton?

"Great, my sister's a big ..." Buffy trailed off when all eyes were on her. "A very famous person," she nodded and went back to looking at Dawn's ID card.

Julia was still curled up quietly on Solvei's lap, trying to process the information her mother had just given her in her tiny brain. She curled her fingers tightly around Solvei's shirt, holding onto her as if she might let go at any moment. This was a time before Julia was born and suddenly it all made sense, how very young all of the grown ups in her life looked. Some were missing but the ones that were here looked.... well Uncle Dean had grey hair in the future.

"Does that mean I'm not gonna see Evan or Bel again?" She asked, still clinging tightly to her mother. She felt sadness well up in her throat again at the possibility of never seeing her brother or sister again but then it occurred to her that if she were simply from the future, the past hadn't happened yet. She only had to wait until Bel and Evan were born and then she would really be their big sister.

She ignored Buffy and Dawn yelling excitedly and Dean's muted interest in the background. She was used to it.

Solvei wasn't sure who Jules was asking about and she guessed that it really didn't matter. Since this was the time before she was born, and that Kyle was her father, than that meant that she was a child from the future of this world.

"I'm sure they're not here yet." She tried to reassure her. Sol had so many questions but they weren't the type of questions that you ask a little girl. So she kept her mouth shut and just listened to Dawn and Buffy in the background.

"This totally means that we're rich now Buffy. We can get whatever kind of place that we want. Or! I might already have a mansion somewhere around here. Don't worry I'm not going to start boozing it up and wearing short skirts without panties and flashing people."

Sol cleared her throat at that last bit from Dawn. Dawn peeked her head in and said an embarrassed, "Sorry." Sol nodded and smiled a little smoothing out Julia's hair.

She wasn't even sure what to do now but she figured that she needed to leave Buffy's. "You wanna go home?" She asked Julia. Even though she was sure that they probably didn't live in the loft apartment above the bakery where she was from. Her one bedroom apartment was too small for two adults and one child.

"Yeah, we are. Or you know, you are, but yeah, that would be me too," Buffy said a little unsure and Dean just gave her a look before looking back at what was going on in the living room. It was pretty cracked. Getting up though from the table, he walked over and rubbed the back of his head.

"Think I'm gonna head out, you're alright though?" He asked Solvei and sat down on the couch, looking over at the little girl. He couldn't help but for a moment picture Solvei with 'lil J and something inside of him just ached. Could have been him. He's learned the hard way that things happen for a reason, but losing him twice was just ... yeah. Sometimes he wished he couldn't remember, but everyday he went on with the weight of it.

Julia turned her head and looked at him and gave a half smile at her.

"Do you want a ride back?" He asked Solvei before getting back up.

When Dean asked Sol if she was alright all she could do was just look at him. She was sure that her eyes said it all. No, she definitely wasn't alright but she didn't have a choice. Nothing was a choice in this world. She thought that she was safe again from that since Xander was here but she really wasn't. She didn't even know where Kyle was.

Taking a deep breath she stood up and just shook her head when Dean asked her if she wanted a ride back. "I'm alright." She said. At any other time she would have jumped at the chance for Dean to rescue her from all of this... to help her out even if it was temporary. But it wasn't his problem anymore. It was hers and she was alone. Again.

All of her friends were here but she'd never felt more alone. What was she going to do with a child? A child from a different life? That wasn't her life. She'd fucked that up too much now. It didn't matter. Julia was her child. That's all she could think about now. Her needs and wants didn't matter anymore.

"C'mon sweetie. Let's go home." On the way out she really didn't say anything to anyone. She just feigned a smile at Buffy and said, "Thanks." She left and she didn't look back.
