who Sonya and Shang
Where Shang's mansion
When Saturday evening carrying over to Sunday
What Shang believes Sonya's exhaustion may not just be from sorcery
rating/status pg due to Sonya's language

It started off simple enough. Tsung allowed her to do whatever she liked with the mansion and though she was expecting the papers for her transfer any day now, it couldn't hurt to take a look at the place.  The problem though, was finding a need for all of them. Sonya had spent her life in homes with only a few rooms at best: an entire mansion open for renovation was simply overwhelming.

One room however, once she'd turned on the light, caught her interest. Obviously a library, with a ceiling reaching fifteen feet, and shelves of books.  The room had the cold, drafty feel of not being used in a while and clearly the maids thought so too, judging from the amount of dust that'd collected on the books and furniture. What really caught her attention though, were the massive piles and stacks of books and scrolls. What was more, they weren't there just a moment ago, or they would've collected atleast a small film of dust. And more than that, she recognized them as from Shang's library..

It was obvious what she had to do with them. A more spiteful act would be to burn them all, but back in Outworld, Sonya had just cracked a dent in the amount of material he had and diliberately setting it on fire would've made the time spent a waste. She started mapping out a plan ( it was a good thing Shang was at a mandatory meeting, it'd leave her enough time with what she had to do. The first thing was to get rid of the dust that had piled up everywhere, Sonya gestured and sent the dust to the trash bins in the back of the house. She then had to get rid of all the books originally on the shelves, sending them to down to the storage room in the basement, then the more tricky part..using magic to send the books and scrolls in their proper order.  The spell took a lot more concentration and focus than mere transporting and when it was all done Sonya was compelled to sit on a near by chair, dizziness making her rest her head between her knees until it passed. The magic was far from complicated, but dust and arranging books correctly and on a large scale took a lot of focus, and for a beginner, it could be especially draining.

She waited until the dizzy spell abated, slowly getting up. She had to move slow or she'd get dizzier, the sorcery not only draining her energy but also body heat. Sonya was actually shivering as she left the library towards her own room, rubbing her arms to get back some heat.

She finds Charles on her way up, telling him tell Shang Tsung that she'd be in her bed chambers for the rest of the evening.

It seems to take forever for Sonya to reach her room. On her way, she passes by a maid with a bag of dirty laundry. The maid, a Ms. Taylor, took one look at her pale and shaky form, before reaching into her pocket and pulling out a individually wrapped toffee candy-she'd been attempting to quit smoking, but Ms. Blade looked like she needed one even more. Sonya thanked her long enough to accept and take the candy, sucking on it as she continued trudging along to her room.

When she finally made it, she stopped only long enough to take off her shoes and socks before practically diving into the bedclothes, shivering as she tried to get some much needed sleep.

"Oh, I wasn't upset about you taking them... just mentioning that I wouldn't know much about them or their existence. Especially considering that I've not been here long enough to know about the alchemical impact of Earth's medicines."

Shang Tsung laughed about her being worried about her stomach. "If I know you, I'm sure you'll be in the training room as soon as possible, and work off that stomach rather quickly. Let's just hope you're more pleasant than you were in Outworld."

"Damned right I would be. Having a kid's no excuse to get sloppy."

She couldn't help but smirk. "so aside from morning sickness, how bad was I in Outworld." She thinks 'this aught to be good.'

Shang Tsung considered this question. "I remember when you broke Baraka's nose for commenting on how much you were eating. That was a mess." Shang Tsung laughed for a second remembering the whole incident.

"Though I agree," said Shang Tsung in a serious tone. "There will be no excuse to get sloppy."

She made a 'well 'duh' face. "It's common sense, you don't get in the way of pregnant women and food, even more so if said woman's stomach was previously ejecting everything she ate."

She laughed at the part of her breaking his nose.

"Well that is noted," he said. "So, I daresay that this should be a fun adventure. If anything else it is something I've never done before, in my thousands of years alive. Hard to believe isn't it?"

"'Fun' maybe an overstatement or understatement." She shrugged. "Interesting at the very least, I mean with everything else I've done, including lead a small platoon, having a kid shouldn't be that much trouble right-all things considered."

"I'm not looking forward to cleaning up feces though," said Shang Tsung quickly. "Hopefully our child doesn't end up as insolent as the other denizens of this realm." Shang Tsung looked at her. "Maybe you should get rest?"

"I've cleaned up worse messes, but we may have to hire a nurse to help out anyway."

"Most denizens don't have a military personal as a parent, you can bet that if they don't behave, I'm sending them on the first bus to bootcamp."

"I thought I would be the harsh parent," said Shang Tsung with a small laugh. "I don't think behavior would be an issue with our child. We'd pretty well whip the child into shape before they were even capable of rebellious thoughts. I don't know if I like the idea of a nurse, perhaps one of the other servants could help though. Ms. Taylor told me she had children..." Shang Tsung thought of Ms. Taylor and shuttered a little bit.

"Yeah," he finally said. "A nurse wouldn't be a bad idea."

"Ms. Taylor saved my ass yesterday, she gave me something to eat before I had the chance to pass out on my way to the room." Sure, it was a piece of candy, but the point that it got her blood sugar up quickly was all that mattered.

"Well then," said Shang Tsung with a smirk, "I suppose I'll keep her around then. She doesn't cook a bad breakfast anyways."
