Entry tags:faith lehane, solvei samuels

Who: Solvei Samuels and Faith Lehane
What: Reuniting of the BFFs
Where: Solvei's place
When: Right now
Warnings: Language with these two. That's it.

Solvei couldn't help but be totally excited that Faith was here. Faith from her world. The one person besides Xander that knew her better then she knew herself. She wasn't sure how she was going to explain this crazy fucked up world to her. She hardly understood it herself.

If Faith came through she almost wondered how long it would be until Dean came through. And, it wasn't that she didn't want to see him. It was just... things were different now. Things had moved so quickly between her and Kyle and she didn't want to have to explain to Dean about the fact that there was no baby anymore. That was something that she had shoved way back into the recesses of her mind and she just didn't think about it anymore... until just now. When she'd have to explain it to Faith.

She walked out to her balcony and put the fire escape down for Faith. Sitting down on her couch she wondered where to even start with explaining things to her. There really wasn't any other way but die hard honesty. That was what always worked the best between the two of them anyway. She heard Faith walking up the fire escape and she stood up waiting for her. She knew that her friend wasn't a hugger but she couldn't help but practically pounce on her with one when she appeared on the fire escape. Letting her go she said, "Hey."

It took Faith exactly twelve minutes and thirty two seconds to walk from her apartment to the address Solvei had given her. She wasn't sure if this was coincidence or some elaborate set up in which she was going to be sacrificed by some whacky demon cult, but she decided for now, it was better to have answers. So instead of questioning it, she was grateful for the short distance.

Faith froze, stalk still as Solvei threw her arms around her. It wasn't as if Faith were opposed to physical affection from her friend, it was just that she had difficulty reciprocating it. She didn't know what to do with it.

Awkwardly she patted Sol's arm a bit until the blonde slayer let go of her.

"Hey." She echoed in a dry voice, her eyes cautiously exploring the space inside of Solvei's apartment. She found it difficult to imagine Solvei running a bakery. More difficult, than even the idea of her being a madam. She found that thought more disturbing than the first.

Leaning against the counter she lit up a cigarette.

"So," She started. "How do we get out of here?"

Walking inside her apartment she went into the kitchen area. Her place wasn't huge but it was nicer than any place she had ever lived or stayed in before. She really liked the wood floors but she wasn't thinking about that now.

"We don't. We can't." Sol told Faith bluntly as she grabbed a bottle of Jack Daniels from the bar area and two glasses. She poured them each a glass.

Suddenly remembering that Faith would probably grab the glass from her she said suddenly, "Lost the baby somehow on my way into this place." She didn't want to talk about it so she downed what was in her glass before setting it back on the bar.

The question was out of her mouth before she could think. "How's Dean?" Then she quickly added, "Sam? Emily?"

We don't. We can't. Faith didn't like the sounds of that and it didn't sound like Solvei anyway. She narrowed her dark eyes and just watched Solvei carefully as she poured them two glasses of whiskey.

There was too much information flying at her at once. Solvei had lost the baby. Faith wouldn't say as much outloud but she felt her heart sink a little. She'd been looking forward to being Auntie Faith.

She shrugged. "Fine." It was a bit of an understatement but a classic Faith response. Take her answer and amplify it by ten and you probably had something a little closer to the truth. Sol already knew that though.

Picking the glass of whiskey up, she eyeballed Solvei carefully and didn't take a drink until her friend had. It wasn't that she didn't trust Sol, it was just that she didn't trust anything right now. This whole alternate dimension thing had Faith spinning in circles in her head.

"Sorry about the baby." She finally added in before she took a swallow and set the glass back on the countertop.

Sol smiled and it wasn't a happy smile when Faith replied with a non-committal 'fine.' "That almost sounded convincing." She figured that they had probably been worried about her but there wasn't anything she could've done about it.

"Yeah. Not like Dean wanted it or I would've made a good Mom anyway." Her heart was still aching at the thought of it. She didn't want to think about it so she took a long drink and finished off her glass. It burned all the way down but it was better than what she was feeling at the moment.

"There's already a Dean here and a Sam. They're from a different time line I guess. When I showed up here they didn't know who the hell I was. The Dean here just proposed to some other chick. When I talked to him he told me that if I ever needed help with anything to call him." It was a lot to take in but maybe Faith would understand some of what she had went through when she got here.

"There was another you, like I told you earlier. She only remembered me by name from Sunnydale." There was more to tell her. But she was going to wait for her to wrap her head around all that before she went into more details.

Faith just gave Sol a look through narrowed eyes when she mentioned that she wouldn't have been a good mother, or that Dean really wanted it. Faith wasn't about to speak for Dean but with the amount of worrying he did after Sol's disappearance she knew that Solvei was wrong.

She carefully considered everything Sol was saying as the whiskey rolled over her tongue and down her throat. It didn't make much sense, but neither had waking up in some swanky apartment with a bunch of hookers either.

"Think this is hell?" She asked her and she just looked at Faith strangely. "What? You lost the baby and there's evil twins all over the place. It's a valid question." Faith shrugged defensively, and stared moodily out the window for a few minutes before looking back at Sol.

"Sorry, it's just a little y'know, fucked up. It's good to see you though. We all looked for you for a wicked long time."

"I've thought about that actually. This being hell? After a while, it's not so bad. I mean, yeah, it sucks not being where we were and all... it's just not all bad. Plus, god and the devil and fate are all people here too." After the first time talking to Dean they'd actually become kinda friends. That was after she got over the initial shock of it all and the fact that she almost died.

"The doubles aren't really evil. They're just different. It's hard at first to get things all straight, but you will."

"I'm really glad you're here." Not wanting to have a sappy moment she didn't add anything more to that. Plus, she wanted to get everything out in the open. "I'm kinda seeing someone. With all of you gone I was on the verge of something really bad. And, this guy helped me a lot."

Faith nodded slowly at Sol as she tried to convince her friend that it wasn't so bad. Maybe not, but Faith wanted to get back to the real world where body doubles weren't around in spades and she knew who she was and what she did. Here nothing made sense.

"Even so, hope I never run into mine." Faith said, positive that no matter what, she wouldn't get along with herself. It was already bad enough that she stuck with one of her, she couldn't imagine two.

Faith smiled a little bit, reciprocating Solvei's sentiment. She couldn't imagine how much more confusing this whole thing would have been if she couldn't find a friendly face anywhere.

"Other Dean?" She asked Sol curiously. Faith wrinkled her nose, unsure of how Dean from the future would feel about that. Not that she blamed Sol. Girls get lonely, they have needs. She understood that. Then again, she didn't believe in relationships either.

"I'm not sure if it works that way." Sol replied to Faith saying that she hoped that she would never run into her double. "People disappear as quickly as they come some times. I haven't seen the other you around. She might be gone." That would mean that there was no way that her Dean would come here while the other one was around. At least she didn't think so.

Sol poured herself another shot of whiskey leaving it on the bar for Faith if she wanted another. "No, the other Dean is engaged to someone else. This guy's name is Kyle. He's like a real life superhero. He can fly and stuff." None of this was going to make any sense to her. "You remember Xander and his comic books? Or did you ever listen to Xander and Andrew geeking out about them?" She probably didn't but it was worth a shot. "Well, in our world he was just a comic book character... at least I think he was. Dunno. But here he's real."

She rested her chin on her hand for a second. "A couple of weeks ago there was this spirit that was possessed herself with the ghosts of ten thousand angry spirits." She probably wondered where the hell she was going with this. "Her name was--is Reika. Anyways she showed up in the middle of Time's Square. Her spirit was so powerful it started snowing. And anyone that came near her that she touched became infected with these painful blue tattoos that spread all over your body. They spread quicker the closer you were to this ghost and you died. Anyways, I saw it on the news so I went over there and tried to attack her. She wasn't corporeal though so she got me. I almost died. Kyle saved my ass by flying me to another planet. The Winchesters here and some other people did an exorcism and all turned out okay... but that's one of the crazy things that happens here."

It was a long story that Sol had told herbut maybe she could see one of the reasons why she was into Kyle. Kyle could've stayed in New York and helped other people like the superhero that he is or he could've saved Sol. He picked her over everyone else. That meant a lot to her.

"He can fly?" Faith marveled at that for a minute, wondering what it was like to sleep with a man who could fly. She decided to tuck that one away until sometime when Solvei was drunk and then ask her about it.

"C'mon, we've seen crazier...." Faith started but then considered the statement. "Well, maybe crazier than the ghost. Not crazier than flying you to another planet. Another planet seriously?"

Faith decided right then and there she had to meet Captain Planet, or whatever this superhero guy was. She'd read the random comic book here and there and tended to tune Andrew out when he was gushing about superheroes but Faith had never met an actual superhero. Besides all of the people that she knew, that is.

"You have a whole life here." Faith was surprised that she stung by it a little bit. Back home, her and Solvei had been close and now it was like Solvei had moved on entirely. Somewhere in the back of her head, she realized she would have to do the same.

"Yeah, we've seen crazier than the ghost but it was kinda a blow to my ego that she got the jump on me." It was probably because she didn't have anyone to watch her back or tell her not to charge in by herself like she was used to. Sol didn't voice that though.

Nodding at her when she asked about Kyle. "Yeah, it's pretty cool."

It was almost like Sol could read Faith's mind. Not that she was showing outwardly what she was thinking she'd just been friends with her long enough to know that she felt hurt. "I didn't have any of you guys. Couldn't hide under a rock and hope that one of you would show up... now your here. Things will get better. I promise."

Deciding that they had talked about her long enough she said with a grin. "So... do you think you're a pimp of some kind? 'Cause that's pretty fucking funny if you want to know what I think. You don't have to do that y'know? I've got a friend that owns a supernatural detective agency. I help him out from time to time. I could introduce you if you want."

"It happens." Faith said, not meaning to blow Sol off but it was just her way of saying that she understood. There was nothing worse on a slayer than getting your ass kicked. And getting your ass kicked so bad that you needed to be flown to a different planet? Faith couldn't even begin to think about that.

She folded her arms over her chest defensively when Sol seemed to read her thoughts. Faith really hated it when she did that and Solvei had been absent in her life for so long now that she realized she would have to readjust.

"It's cool." She said, definitively as she took another drink. "And I dunno about the whole pimp thing. I got a Bentley in the drive and a bunch of naked girls. Dude, you gotta see this apartment I woke up in. It's a penthouse suite." Faith frowned at her own tone of voice. She sounded almost....excited. It was no secret that she liked the finer things in life, it was also no secret that she could never actually afford them.

"I dunno. I'll get back to you on that one." She shrugged and gave Sol a look. "There's worse things to be than a pimp, right?"

Her eyes got wide when she told her about her high class apartment and fancy car. Sol wasn't sure if she'd ever actually seen a Bentley but it sounded like it was a big deal. "Sounds really nice. Can't wait to see it."

The fact was, in this world either one of them could be anything they wanted. They didn't have to be slayers here if they didn't want to be. It was just something that Sol couldn't and wouldn't give up. She still went slaying because she felt like she had to.

"A pimp isn't so bad. Check out your closet yet? Got any purple fur coats or anything like that?" She grinned at her friend. "It sounds as though the person that you replaced did pretty well to have all that."

Faith had her own reasons for wanting to keep the job. Things she hardly talked about, even though she thought about them often.

"I mean, those girls are gonna be whores whether I stay or I go. Someone else'll probably just take over. Smack 'em around and shit. Let 'em do drugs." Faith mused outloud, mostly to herself. "Least I'd be nicer than most."

Wouldn't say, accidentally beat them to death in the backseat of a Lincoln Towncar and leave them there for the cops to find, she couldn't help but think wryly. She'd never even gone to her mother's funeral, never even seen the grave site where she was buried. Suddenly Faith thought she might finally be able to make it right.

"I didn't look in the closet but I'd look hot in a fur coat and a pimp cane, don't ya think?" She finally let her customary wide grin spread over her face, feeling more at ease by the minute here in Solvei's apartment.

Nodding at Faith when she talked about what good could come out of her actually being a madam to the girls. It didn't sound like a bad thing. At least she could handle it if any john tried to rough any of them up. "Not a bad thing."

Sol laughed at picturing Faith in actual pimp attire. "You'd definitely be stylish. Can't say no to that."

There was something else she had to tell her. There were look alikes of her out there. "There's two girls here that look just like me. If you're on the board you'll see them sooner or later. One I'm friends with, her name's Veronica. The other one's name is Elle. I don't really know her but Veronica says she's a sociopath. I've talked to her once and she doesn't seem so bad." She shrugged.

Faith snickered a bit when Solvei agreed that she would look good all decked out in pimp attire. At least she could finally relax knowing that she was the knew Heidi Fleiss and not say, Ron Jeremy.

Even Faith has to draw the line somewhere.

She flicked her cigarette out through the window when Sol started describing her "not so evil" twins. Although, Faith thought that a sociopath was almost close enough.

Faith made a face as she looked back over at Solvei.

"Your friends with your double? Man, that's fucked." Faith smirked a little bit. At least, Kyle probably liked the idea of it.

"Please tell me there's at least vampires to be slayed around here. Cause I don't get a good slay in before bed and I get all cranky." She said, as if Solvei didn't already know that.

"Kinda. Been talking about doing a whole doublemint twins thing with her one of these days. See how many looks we can get." Veronica didn't seem keen on the whole dressing up and going out on the town together. The last time she talked to her though she seemed to be more into it if she could bring her friend along.

"Oh yeah, there's lots of them. The same kind that we slayed back home plus other kinds too. The first time I ran into one that didn't have a bumpy face was all sorts of confusing for me. We can go out if you want in a bit. Wanna see the rest of my place?"

Sol knew exactly what Faith meant about getting cranky. She kinda got the same thing. Faith had coined the term for after slaying of hungry and horny too. Sol just called it the double h's and everyone in the group knew to not get on either one of their nerves until at least one of the two was sated. She always figured it had something to do with what was left of the demon in them from being slayers.

Other kinds? Like cloven hooved, watcher killing freaks? Cause Faith had already met that ugly motherfucker and wasn't looking forward to things if it was downhill from here. Of course, she wasn't a teenager anymore and more than prepared for whatever the world had to throw at her.

"Sounds good." Faith nodded at Sol, indicating that a tour and after that, quality slayer time worked for her. It had been awhile since she had patrolled with Solvei and was already looking forward to it.

"Shouldn't you be baking me some cookies or something though?" Faith smirked at Solvei, thinking about the bakery that she'd spotted downstairs on her way up.

Sol was kinda proud of her place since she'd never had a place of her own. Even if she hadn't picked it out. She walked into the living room and pointed out the couch and tv and everything. It was a big tv with a dvd player and everything. It wasn't really her thing. She liked to read more. "So here's the living room." She looked at Faith and said, "Kinda like having a place to live. You know what happens when I try to cook." Once they had stayed at a motel with a kitchenette. She had started a fire.

Walking into her bedroom she had a big bed that she had refused to sleep in the first week that was here. She felt as though she was drowning in it. Pointing to the painting on the wall that Kyle had given her of space she smiled. "Kyle painted that." She was blushing just a bit and quickly turned to go into her favorite room, the bathroom.

The bathroom had a huge claw foot bath tub. Big enough for two people. "You know that I fell in love with this place when I saw this." She pointed to the tub. There was a little office room with bookshelves filled with books around the corner. Her computer was set up and hanging from the wall was the necklace of Dean's. She'd been able to take it off but she couldn't get rid of it. She just couldn't.

"That's the upstairs. The downstairs doesn't make much sense to me but I have employees that do mostly everything. I just make the work schedules. You wanna see it?"

"Nice." Faith nodded politely when Sol pointed out the picture that Kyle had painted for her. Her eyes swept around Solvei's apartment and she thought about some of the shitholes her and Solvei had lived in. Compared to where they were living now it was pretty incredible in her opinion.

"Yeah, sure." Faith shrugged, shoving her hands into her jacket pockets as she followed Solvei out through the door and downstairs into the bakery. The place was a lot bigger than it looked from outside and Faith wondered how Solvei coped with running a bakery. It seemed to her that being a madam was a lot easier than that. She had also carefully considered the idea that running a brothel might be harder than it looked.

The two of them walked through the back room of the bakery and out where the employees were hard at work making baked goods. "Smells good in here." Faith admitted as she followed Solvei out towards the front of the store.

"It's kind of weird how you just become something else here." Faith mused outloud before she grabbed Sol's arm and stopped her just as they finally walked outside. "You said people disappear here too. Where do they go?"

They walked through the bakery and she smiled at her employees as they walked through. Once they were back out into the main part she pointed at the coffee bar. "That's my favorite part. Starbucks doesn't have anything on my coffee bar." She grinned.

Since it was after business hours once her and Faith had gotten outside she turned around to lock the door back up. The employees would be working for a few more hours yet. "Weird is kinda an understatement."

When Faith asked her where people went when they left here she wasn't sure what to tell her. "I don't know. Maybe back to where they came from? No clue."

They started walking. Central park was only about eight blocks away. "There's always something going down in Central Park at night. There's lots of cemeteries too."

Faith wasn't sure if she was comforted or freaked out by Solvei's lack of knowledge. Where did people go when they disappeared from here? Did they go back to where they came from or maybe some place worse? Faith didn't know.

She shoved her hands back into her jacket pockets and fell into step next to Sol on the sidewalk. "Y'know, it would be just my luck that Purgatory looks just like New York." She grumbled. The long standing rivalry between Boston and New York had infected Faith even long after she left her hometown.

She followed Solvei into the dark Central Park and looked around cautiously. It seemed like a regular city park after dark to her. Homeless people, drug pushers, and of course, prostitutes. Faith wondered if any of "her" girls were out here tonight.

"So when do I get to meet this Kyle guy?" She asked curiously.

When Faith started to get all grumbly Sol hip checked her playfully. "Stop grumpin'. C'mon. Didn't you miss me? It can't be purgatory if we're here together right?" She grinned at her friend and kept walking.

"I met him the second night I got here. He helped me deal with the shock of it all." Now she was worried that Faith would think that she just hopped into bed with the first guy she met. It didn't go down like that. She was sure that if Dean was here that's the way he would see it though.

"The morning after I got here..." She paused taking in a deep breath. "Found out that the baby was gone. Then I checked that posting board and saw the other Dean. I didn't have anyone. And that's when Kyle offered to come over. Wanna know what the first thing I said to him after he came over?" Faith looked at her like she was waiting for her to continue. "I blurted out to him in my typical way 'I'm not going to sleep with you.' You should've seen his face." She laughed a little.

As they were walking her eyes didn't stop looking for trouble.

Faith arched an eyebrow at her friend after she hip checked her. She had known Solvei for a long time and it could very well be Purgatory even with the two of them side by side.

"I'm glad then." Faith said as the two of them strayed from the sidewalk and walked on the grass. "I won't lie, I really liked you and Dean together but if this guy helped you out or whatever...." She shrugged. She didn't want Solvei to be alone. She wasn't sure what she would have done if she had woken up and not been able to find anyone she knew.

She snickered a little bit when Sol said she'd announced that she wouldn't sleep with him.

She wondered when Sol would want to know more about what happened after she left. How Dean was. So far she'd managed to evade most questions regarding Dean and it made her think that Sol didn't want to talk about it.

Solvei couldn't stop thinking about how she was going to ask Faith for more info on Dean. It was just hard. She wanted to know but in a way she was scared to pull the band aid off. Part of her, that little part of her that was still a scared little girl was afraid that it hadn't phased Dean at all.

The only way she could come right out and ask was to hit Faith with sarcasm. It was just the way that she dealt with things. Even though there was truth mixed up with it. "So how relieved was Dean when he found out that I was gone? No more worrying about being a daddy."

There was no way that she could make eye contact with her friend right now. She just stared straight ahead and scanned the park and the crowd.

Solvei was being an idiot, even by Faith's standards. Instead of telling her so, she just hauled one fist back and smashed it straight into Solvei's jaw. She pressed her mouth into a thin, firm line as Sol staggered back and put her hand to her jaw.

"That is the dumbest thing you've ever said." Faith snapped out at her wondering if she'd been the one who just made the dumb decision. She couldn't tell if Sol was hurt or if she was just going to snap right back at her.

"Nobody was relieved. You just up and disappeared one day. You really think Dean just got over it like that?" Faith rolled her eyes and shook her head. "Think any of us did?" Now she was pissed at herself too for saying too much and letting her emotions get the better of her.

Without thinking Sol retaliated. It was an automatic response if someone or something hit her. Her fist smashed into Faith's face before she could stop herself.

Her hands flew to her mouth for a second when she realized what she had done. Putting them down she rubbed her jaw. That wasn't the first time that they had hit one another and it probably wouldn't be the last. They saved that for when the other one was being particularly stupid. She knew it was a pretty dumb thing to say even if that was what she was really feeling.

She mumbled quietly, "Sorry. I just... hate the thought of thinking about you guys looking for me. Just hate that helpless feeling, y'know?" Helpless was not an emotion that Sol let get the better of her. With all of this? That's exactly what she felt from day one since she got here. No matter how hard she tried to get her friends out of her mind.

Faith's fingers pressed into her eye which she knew was going to be covered in a bright purple bruise come morning. It had been awhile since a slayer had taken a swing at her in anger. It was almost a relief though. Dean and Emily didn't hit nearly as hard as Solvei did.

"You would've done it for me." Faith pointed out when Solvei admitted that she'd hated thinking about what she'd left behind. Faith knew that if she'd just disappeared one day the three of them would have looked high and low for her. In fact, she was willing to bet Dean and Emily were freaking out right about now.

"You hit like a girl." She added in, grumbling. Her fingers finally came away from her eyes at the satisfaction of knowing Sol was gonna wake up with a bruise too.

"Well yeah." She gave Faith her best 'duh' expression. Just because she had been stupid didn't mean she wouldn't have done the exact same thing if she was in Faith's shoes.

"Could say the same thing about you." Her mouth twisted into a grin. It'd been a while since she'd taken a real punch. There were those demons a few weeks back that had given her some bruises but that was only 'cause she was outnumbered ten to one.

She was about to ask her if she wanted to show her her pimp house when she heard a scream. "Like music to my ears." She took off running in the direction that it came from knowing that Faith would be quick to be in step beside her.

Faith took off at top speed, determined to beat Solvei there. And she did, by mere seconds. Grabbing the vampire by the back of his ugly sweater, she tossed him away from the girl he was trying to turn into his midnight snack.

"You have no idea how good it is to see you." Faith smirked at the vampire as she kicked it hard in the chest and sent it staggering back towards Solvei who took a wild swing at it.

The trembling blonde girl wearing the shortest skirt Faith could remember seeing in a long time was just staring at her.

"What are you lookin' at?" Faith asked her, irritably. "Scram!"

The girl shrieked and shrank back before she started running. Faith could hear her heels clicking loudly on the ground until the sound faded off completely.

Faith beat her to the vamp and she almost told her that she was a big show off. There wasn't time for that though. She gave the vamp a few good hits and took one while Faith dealt with the girl that the vamp attacked. Sol tossed the vamp into a park bench to give her time to pull her stake out of her jacket pocket.

Her friend was back at it with the vamp and she wasn't sure if she had a stake or not. Sol just stepped behind it and staked it through the back, grinning at her friend. "Took him from ya, but I wasn't sure if you had anything with you."

Putting her stake back in it's place she dusted her hands off. "You tired now? Want me to come by tomorrow and look at your place?"

"Tired?" Faith arched an eyebrow in Solvei's direction. "What am I an old lady? That was one vamp." She said, stating the more than obvious.

"But if you wanted to come by tomorrow and check the place out you're more than welcome. Just don't, y'know, be surprised at what you find there." As in, hookers. Faith had woken up to an apartment filled with them. Although most didn't live there, they appeared to frequent the place.

Faith wasn't really sure how she felt about that.

"I am glad I finally found you." Faith added in, wanting to just get it out into the open and over with.

"Well... you are getting a little worn looking around the eyes." Sol dramatically gestured towards her eyes and said more seriously, "The vamp wasn't what I was talking about. It's late and I know that you've probably had a long day is all." She wasn't trying to get rid of Faith or anything like that. She just figured that she might want to sleep.

"Afraid that a few hookers would scare me off?" Arching an eyebrow at her she shuffled her feet a bit.

Sol grinned at Faith and her uncharacteristic verbal show of emotion. "I'm glad you did too. Thought you got rid of me so easy did ya?"

"Was hopin'." Faith teased her with a grin, as the two walked out towards the parameter of Central Park a little more.

The two of them reached the gate and walked through it before Faith stopped and turned to look at Solvei.

"So I'll see you tomorrow?" She asked and waited for Sol to nod at her. "Good." She smiled a little bit as she took a few steps backwards, away from Sol and towards her apartment. "See ya then."
