It was a normal enough night at the Snake Pit, couples and small groups scattered throughout, Rita the Python was on the shelf above the bartop, as always, the dancers had just begun weaving through the crowd.

Henn was in her natural habitat behind the bar, hair pulled up into a severe ponytail, a streak of red down the middle of her bangs. She was leaning forward, forearms resting on the bar, for anyone tall enough the position provided view of the edge of a tattoo across the small of her back. For the less-height-endowed there was a lot of cleavage to look at, as well as a tattoo of an anatomical heart with flaming wings on her chest.

"It's kinda hard to visit family in Texas when your family's stationed in France. Which, contrary to the popular rumor, not all French people are stuck up, that's only in Paris."

She actually laughs. " Unfortunately, the one time dad did invite everyone for a reunion, and I do mean nearly everyone in the family, was when Danny and I graduated from military school."

"If there's one thing..of many..that dad and I had in common, it's comprising so nothing gets out of hand. When we graduated from the academy, it was where we had a small legacy, so word was sure to get out. Dad figured he may as well call everyone up before we had a bunch of relatives calling us first."

She thought back to the Mortal Kombat Tournament. "Kinda funny how fate plays you..and I don't even believe in fate."
