Who: Skwisgaar the Elder and Lulu
What: Clothes reclamation... at first
Where: Mini-Mordhaus, London.
When: This morning
Warnings: Ohhhhyeah.

Skwisgaar was up early. Or up still. One could never really tell with the guitarist, who'd ushered Henrietta out the door only an hour previous. He had a rather fun night with the bartender-slash-law student, and had quite literally lost track of the time. Birds were chirping, the sun was up, and he had yet to even see his bedroom that night. He went up the stairs and saw a note tacked to his door in his own handwriting and read it - it was in Swedish, so it was a good giveaway that the Younger had written it.
And then he rolled his eyes. Lulu was expected to come over at any moment and he was still awake. He raked a hand through his hair, put in another set of contacts and wandered down to the main room, where the redhead and his husband had apparently crashed for the night.

He solemnly ushered them off to bed and had the place to himself. He had one of the roadies light up the fire and turn on the TV, and he started idly practicing while he waited for Lulu to come.

Once she did, she'd be brought in by a roadie and things would be easy.

Lulu returned his smile with one as small and fond. "It's much mor comfortable, yes."

His arm around her shoulders felt like a friendly gesture, and she let her head rest against him as they continued walking. "I could show up late. I'm not really required to be there, I simply own the shop." She cocked her head to the side, thinking. "I think I'll stay for a bit." Fireplaces were one of her many weaknesses.

And being the man he was, he'd find and indulge every weakness a lady friend had, if only for his own amusement. "Is always good to sits by a fireplace and relax on things. I is goings to plays on a musics. I don'ts knows if you ever hears on me really plays.

He was just keeping his hands busy at the cafe the day before, and there was no actual magic to the notes he'd been playing. He slipped into the main room and plucked up a guitar, already fingering the strings.

Lulu took off her shoes again, curling up on a rug in front of the fireplace and stretching out like a large cat. Kimarhi had once called her one during a moment fairly similar, and she smiled at him.

Propping her head up on one elebow, she watched him touch the guitar. "I think those are your lovers, Skwisgaar."

"Dey... is what I is marries on." He explained quietly as he plugged the guitar into an amp and slid into a nearby seat. He turned up the volume to something tolerably loud, and started to play a song. The song itself spoke of emotional depths far deeper than any ocean, far more expansive as well. It was a powerful, impressive song - it wasn't lost or lonely, it was self assured, strong. It was joyous and heartfelt, and its quick pace belied the fact that the song itself was something like an electric sonata for one.

As he played, Skwisgaar seemed to be taken into a deeper part of himself than he ever showed. It was his home, his sanctuary amongst the world which was nothing but talentless so-called musicians who'd only played the notes and never gave the songs they had penned actual life. He could, though. Every song, every note he played while he truly played and not just practiced, had a voice and life and spark of its own.

It made sense to her, and she blinked at his song. It was almost like the Hymn of the Fayth; it moved him as deeply, it made him as almost calm and serene as that song had for her. Instead of watching him, she closed her eyes and let the music wash over her. She couldn't help but smile, and in that moment she understood why he'd had groupies. Who wouldn't want to be a part of that music?

The song ran its course and then seamlessly poured into the next, which was more dark, more ominous. It was like a great, dark, rolling storm cloud had come over the main room, and its electrical surges, its lightning was the crash of riffs that he'd played. It was a bitter wind, a biting cold rain, the song itself sounded like it could come to reality at any second and transform from flourished notes and heavy chords into that deadly tempest. Of course, the song would've sounded better with more than just himself playing it, more alive, more real, but with his lead guitar, things seemed to come into sharp, glaring focus.

He looked up from the strings to glance at his audience of roadies and Lulu, and gave a sly, toothy smile as he continued to play.

Lulu couldn't help but chuckle. The only thing more dangerous than someone who was very good at something was someone who knew they were good at something.

She was sitting up on her elbows in front of the fire, and she loooked around at the other people who'd gathered to listen to him. She was immediately glad she'd stayed.

Skwisgaar's smile slid away once the storm song had passed and even darker still was what was on the heels of the storm... Though that would have to wait a moment. He set his foot down onto the floor some time in the song of the storm and a roadie had plugged in a pedal set. He handed off the guitar he was using and was given the one that had been connected to the pedals and started playing, almost as if to say "Where was I? Oh yes..."
The storm rolled away and on its heels was war He pulled into the song the sounds of warhorses and marching foot soldiers, the battle cry and the trumpets blowing, and then the mighty battle that would be won by the brave army.
The army cried victory! Their land was safe! And then the song lilted.
And started to dance. It was no longer the battlefield, nor was it the ocean or the storm. It was a dancer.

The dancer was enchanting, and very obviously female from the way he portrayed her. Steady, streaming movements, dancing and giving all who saw her pause to watch. It was beauty and refinement and skill all at once.

It would probably behoove the narration to say that Skwisgaar wasn't remembering these songs, he was making them up as he went along. It showed in some parts, but not very blatantly.

Lulu's eyes almost filled with tears. His song reminded her of fighting Sin herself, of helping to kill the god she'd piously worshiped for a time before she helped to kill it. She wondered idly for a moment how familiar he was with war, but she didn't press the issue.

She smiled genuinely as the song changed, and she was immediately reminded of Shiva. She'd have to tell Skwisgaar about her sometime.

After the song was finished and the dancer had taken her bow, Skwisgaar set the guitar down and flicked the amp off. The roadies clapped and he smiled, flexing his fingers before reaching over to grab his pack of cigarettes.

The roadies wandered off back to their stations and he lit a cigarette, looking over at Lulu with his head tilted just slightly. He knew she'd enjoyed it, but he waited for her to say so.

Lulu sat back up, her lips smirking broadly. "I should tell you more about where I'm from. Your music took me right back." She crossed her feet at the ankle, shaking her head. "You should get your band back together. I'd like to hear you."

"Well, as long as you never stop playing." Lulu motioned him over to come sit with her by the fire, wondering of a roadie could come bring her some food. Unlike Skwisgarr, who looked like he survived on air and music alone, Lulu ate.

She smiled and started to tell her story, starting with simple Spiran customs and the chruch of Yevon before explaining Sin and the devastation it caused every time it was reborn.

Skwisgaar sprawled out beside her and listened intently. A roadie eventually came by and waited quietly before Skwisgaar looked up during a pause in Lulu's story. "Ja, foods. Hn. Cornflakes. Orange juices. Dats is all for me but if she is wants on a somethings..."

"I could make it myself," Lulu started to say, but the roadie sushed her and she shrugged and asked for whatever was standard breakfast fare here. She wasn't truly sure yet, and figured she'd see what there was.

Until they returned with food, she continued her story, explaining the life and death cycle of Sin. She also explained the pilgrimage process, and how summoners strove to stop Sin by sacrificing themselves to bring the Calm. Of course, that's where she started to interweave her own story, by telling him the purpose of Guardians, and how she'd been one since she'd been fifteen.

His process of eating corn flakes was very different than most. It was dry and he ate it with his fingers, sometimes one flake at a time. But even despite his odd eating habits, he was listening, head tilted to one side. He pictured her world as something just this side of fantasy, where dragons still existed, where people could still wear armor and it wouldn't be considered odd.

He was positively taken with the notion, and her story was just as amazing. He looked rather wistful (For a given value of his expressions) at her story, and wanted to tell her how oddly at home he'd have felt in that world, but he dared not interrupt.

She finished the story with telling him how they'd managed to kill Yevon - essentially killing their own god, but ending the cycle of death and sacrifice that had been in place for a thousand years.

Lulu looked up when she was presented with a plate of eggs and bacon, along with a glass of orange juice and she thanked the young man and proceeded to tuck in.

"The last thing I remember before being here was Yuna's speech to Spira, letting them know that she'd done what nobody else could do - she'd brought the Eternal Calm." She nibbled on some bacon and her eyes lit up.

He thought it all through, recapping for himself the details of her story, then he asked, "De place you is comes from is likes a dreams I is havings on for a vurylong sorts of times. Nots de stories or de livings Gods... but de feelings dats your world seemings to has."

He wrinkled his nose at the bacon. He could never eat anything so fatty. "I is takes it dat dey don'ts has a bacons on Spira?"

Lulu smiled and drank some of her orange juice. "If there was a way to take you back to Spira, I would. I'm sure you'd have even more fans - we didn't really have much music there, just the Hymn of the Fayth, which is pretty, but nothing like your music."

She laughed when he wrinkled his nose and shook her head. "No, it's wonderful." She hadn't really ever eaten too much, if only because food on pilgrimages weas very catch as catch can, and as such, had been things roasted over open fires.

He chuckled, "I is gots vury few fans here. De worlds dats we is originallies froms? I could tells at you abouts it?" That actually was a question that time, and he popped another few cornflakes into his mouth.

He knew exactly where to start, and for once, it wouldn't be about just him. Though it would take some doing just to keep it off himself.

"I'd like that." She drank some more orange juice, arranging herself on the rug in a more comfortable position. At one point the fire started to dwindle, and she cast a spell over her shoulder to reignite enough so she was comfortable.

Skwisgaar had one of the roadies bring down his fur blanket from his room - it was white hare skin, and he spread that out underneath them, atop the rug, so that they'd (read: He'd) be comfortable.

He started in with how the world wasn't much different than this one, that the only difference was that music had gone a different route. Instead of people listening primarily to sappy, horrible music that had no substance, they took more to music with feeling. He'd been in the business since he was six, and he'd seen it grow up with him. Metal, however, only started to take its hold on the world when Dethklok put out their first album.
The first release sold so many albums in one year that the whoever-made-up-the-system-rules had to make up a new ranking above quadruple-platinum. They had to find an even MORE amazing metal to rate it. The band had gained more than just a cult following, they gained a rabid worldwide fanbase due to their music being so amazing, so outstanding, that everyone, regardless of race, heritage, country, gender or sexuality could relate. Everyone felt anger, everyone wanted to be brutal.
And then they started work on their second album. The money was still rolling in from the first album's sales, and with that alone, they bought some land - about a thousand acres - and built Mordland. And on it, they built their mansion; Mordhaus. Skwisgaar went into detail about the building itself - built like a dragon, with the head of a horse, with stained glass windows and a glowing underbelly. The home was so large that he'd gotten lost in it many times. He explained that twenty of the houses they were in now would fit into the one he was used to.
He then went into how their music seemed to have more power with each and every album. Through Nathan's perfectionist ways, his own constant playing, Pickles' near-wizard-level ability at drums, and Toki and Murderface's just being there, they'd summoned a lake troll, brewed up several storms, beckoned sea creatures, diverted a comet, and changed history itself.

He then spoke about what happened after. It was the first time Dethklok had been seen in public in about a year and a half. They had written a new album and had about ninety percent of the world under their thumbs. They got on the stage, and played their first set of the night to not only a sold out audience, but a live-on-television-and-streaming-internet-worldwide broadcast. Things were going well, and they took a break between sets. Skwisgaar was off in his dressing room, fucking one of the hotter groupies, the other guys were off likely doing their own things, and Pickles was working on a drum solo.
And something went wrong. Someone had gotten so excited in one of the missile silos that he'd pushed the big red button. And off went a nuclear missile, straight for another nation. That nation, in turn, set off another, and another, and while Skwisgaar had his pants down, Pickles was working on the sickest, most brutal drumbeat ever, Nathan was gargling with whiskey and thumbtacks, Toki was putting together a toy plane, and Murderface was barking orders at a roadie, the whole world ended in the most firey, brutal way possible.

Skwisgaar looked up to Lulu. "I don'ts remembers on how I gots to de Bars. But when I is was dere, I didn'ts has on my pants, or my belts buckles." He tapped the belt buckle he was wearing - the same said one that he'd worn all his adult career. "I just remembers on it beings vury amburrizing."

Lulu's eyes grew wide as he told her his story, but a lot of it didn't surprise her. She'd heard just him playing, she could understand him having the world under his thrall.

But the world ending hit too close to home and she wrapped her arms around him in a loose hug. "I'm glad you're here now, and not... the other thing." From what she was lead to understand, this universe didn't have a Farplane where she could visit her dead loved ones.

Skwisgaar shook his head, patting her on the shoulder, "I ain'ts upsets or nothings at it. All worlds is musts ends some sorts of times. Whats betters way dens to has beens de catalysts? I moveds ons. Toki brings me to his girlsfriend's homeplace, and he is raiseds on a families dere. Den I gots broughts here." He shrugged one shoulder, seemingly apathetic to the entire situation.

"Deres is a songs? Everything Dies. Even whole worlds. De worlds I lives on a firsts was dyings before I was a borns."

"I suppose that's a healthy outlook to take. I guess I've just been surrounded by so much death that I really just want to live for a while." She rolled over and winced at soreness he'd inspired, then tried not to giggle.

"Though I guess you've done more than your share of living at this point."
