Weevil was trying to keep things straight. He was feeling bored, lonely. There was work and little else. And there were only so many times you could keep your eye on a cheating wife or husband before you snapped a little. Work wasn't that great, anyway. There wasn't much variety. Weevil didn't feel like he was really helping anybody and that sucked. He felt restless. When he didn't have anything better to do, he'd hook up with some stranger or Lilly. He'd long to go back home, back to his gang. He had a good life here. He had more money that he'd ever needed. And he still wasn't happy. Figured.

There was something about Solvei that Weevil was attracted to. Probably her face. He had a soft spot for that face, despite his best efforts. So before he left for California, he packed a small bag and headed for her place. She worked at a bakery and slayed vampires at night. That was different and interesting.

Weevil walked through the door and looked around. It was a nice little place. The kind of place he'd never normally step foot in. He stood out with his tattoos, his gold chain, his wife beater. But he walked tall anyway. He looked around for a blond head of hair.

"We'll have to go over the basics and stuff before we go out." She shrugged and added, "Vampires you have to stake to the heart or chop of their head to kill them. Holy water works too but it really stinks, 'cause they basically melt. Demons are a little trickier 'cause depending on which kind they are they can be killed in different ways. Anyway... how goods your aim? And have you ever used a crossbow before?"

	Weevil nodded. He didn't really mind training or learning. "Crossbow? In the ghetto?" He laughed. "I've shot a gun before. I'm okay." Not the best because he hadn't liked using them unless necessary. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Crossbows are so much better than a guns. I don't have one here but I should get one." Sol had a problem with guns. Mainly, because both of her parents were shot to death in front of her. "Whenever you want to, I go out every night." Taking another swallow of her coffee she was kinda excited about this. She hated going out by herself and Kyle had his own kind of patrolling to do so it was usually just her.

Veronica wanted to see Weevil, she didn't spend nearly enough time with him, and with Logan gone now and Patrick always working, Weevil and Lilly were all that Veronica had. She didn't have many friends, she was pretty cut off from people but that was what happened when your boyfriend was a serial killer. She couldn't tell anyone because he'd expose her for being what she was, and she didn't want that.

It wasn't hard to track Weevil down. She wasn't an expert detective for nothing. She didn't know how she felt about him being at Solvei's bakery, but it gave her an opportunity to talk to Solvei too. Veronica felt bad that she hadn't been able to help her with the kids just yet. She'd gotten busy, and she'd gotten into trouble.

She'd been stabbed and died, again. She was getting really sick of the whole death thing. She had her sword with her of course, but it was in a case. Still, it wouldn't be hard to determine just what it was. And Solvei already knew about Veronica, and what had happened to her.

She knocked, even if it was a place of business. She didn't even know if she should have come here now.

Come on Mars, where is that nerve?

She was no longer the girl that she used to be.

Weevil's back was to the door, so he didn't see Veronica when she came in. He was busy talking to Solvei, quietly animated and looking more excited than he had in a long while.

Weevil had picked up on something being wrong with Veronica. Maybe that had contributed to his wanting to leave. It was hard to see a woman so strong turn so quiet. There was something off, but she refused to open up to Weevil about it. It wouldn't have been so bad if she had been honest and just admitted something was wrong. But she didn't. She tried to pretend she was fine when things obviously weren't. Weevil was a little tired of it.

He turned his head to the side and noticed Veronica's blond hair.

Looking up from her convo with Weevil when she heard a knock on the door. She thought it was strange that someone would knock to get in to her bakery. It wasn't like the open sign wasn't on or that the door was locked. When she took a good look she saw her face peering in the door. With a smile she stood up and walked over and opened the door making the bell at the top of the door ring. "You don't need to knock y'know." She smiled and added, "Come on in."

	"Just didn't want to interrupt anything." Veronica said, shrugging. She walked into the bakery and looked around a little. "This place is cute." She nodded. "Sorry that I didn't get back to you about the thing we talked about...I kinda got myself into a bit of a jam." She explained. "Hey Weevil." She finally said, looking over at him. "Don't sweat it." Sol replied to Veronica with a shrug. "The hospital found their parents." Gail, one of Solvei's employees came out when she heard the bell ring on the door. "Can I..." She was staring at Veronica and Solvei with her mouth open for a few seconds. "Solvei? I didn't know you had a twin sister."

Solvei laughed a little and shrugged. "Yeah, I just met her. We were separated at birth." Gail gave her a confused look for a second before saying, "That's nice." And going back into the back. Sol started to crack up. "That was kinda fun."

	"That's good." Veronica said. She'd wanted to help, but it just hadn't been possible. She had her own stuff to handle. "Nice bakery." She told Solvei, not paying much attention to Gail when she came out. She didn't know her. She was mostly here to see Weevil. She wondered if she should tell him what was going on with her. Weevil noticed the girl, Gail, but he didn't really acknowledge her beyond the wandering glance he gave her. His eyes were on her legs a few seconds longer than necessary. Not aware of the fact that Veronica had come for him, he almost got out of his seat and left to give the girls some space. He didn't want to butt in to their business. "I'ma," Weevil turned to glance at the door, "I think I'll take off and give you some space." He lowered his voice and looked at Solvei, "I'll talk to you more about that thing later." He pushed his cup of coffee forward.

"Thanks. I didn't really pick it out or anything, but thanks. It's bigger than any place I've ever had that's for sure." She shrugged again. Sheesh, tension much.

When Weevil said that he was gonna go she knew that she couldn't let him go. It was very obvious that he and Veronica had stuff to talk about. "No, no, don't go. I know that I'm the fifth wheel to this best friend party or something. So, you guys can go ahead and talk. I can go do something else if you want privacy."

Sol looked over at Veronica. "Do you want anything?"

"Weevil don't go." Veronica said. "It was you I was looking for." but she wanted to talk to Solvei as well. She didn't really want Weevil to leave without knowing why she'd been so distant lately, but would he even believe her if she told him? It wasn't exactly the most believable story in the world.

"And you don't need to go either, Solvei." She wanted to talk to both of them. "No I'm okay."

"Come on guys. We can go upstairs and talk better in my apartment. It looks like you guys need to talk. If you change your mind I can always come back down here." Plus, she really wanted to see Veronica's sword and knew that there was no way she could show her down here.

She gestured a hand for them to come with her and she started to go up the stairs to her place.

	"You'll see." Veronica told Weevil, she didn't say more down here because she didn't want everyone to know. "Well yeah I don't think here would be the best place to tell him." Veronica told Solvei. 	She ushered them into her apartment. The living room was right where they came up the stairs. She plopped down in a chair across from the couch, kicked off her shoes, and folded her legs up underneath her. They could have the couch. Weevil wasn't saying anything and Veronica looked uncomfy. Okay, she was really going to do this. She was really going to tell him. She set down her sword case on the floor, she knew Solvei wanted to see it. "I know I've been acting kind of...weird lately." She started, taking in a breath. She felt like she was about to tell someone she was pregnant or something.

Why was this so hard? Oh, yeah because it was crazy! "And there is a really good reason for it...but it's kinda strange..."

"You already know." Veronica reminded her. She took in a deep breath. "Okay, I'm just gonna come right out and say this. Weevil, I'm immortal." There she'd said it, but she knew she was going to have to elaborate. She opened the sword case and pulled out the blade, looking it over.

"So...a couple months ago I kind of died...but then I came back, and now I can still die but I'll always come back. And there are others out there like me and some of them will want to take my head, which is the only way Immortals can die. So...I have this sword for protection." She realized she sounded like a crazy person but it was the truth.

It sounded crazy, but so did mutants and vampire slayers roaming the streets. Veronica probably could have given Weevil a little more credit. "How'd that happen?" He was gruff. The image of her dying struck him hard, especially after having lost Lilly back home. He considered Veronica a friend and didn't like her being hurt. Killed. "Who did it?" His voice rose a little.

	"Oh..." She figured that Veronica had already told Weevil about the whole immortal thing. Solvei stood up to examine Veronica's sword. "Can I see it?"
