Who: Sweeney Todd & Sadako Yamamura
When: Late Night Tuesday/Wednesday
Where: London
What: Learning the city (all over again...)
Warnings: With the exception of them talking about their pasts? Nada. It's weird.

Sweeney was in rare form, he'd actually gotten some sleep AND food somewhere between work and when he decided to tinker around on the computer. So he had a bit more color to him than he'd had in the past few days. And not only that, but he was almost just a bit more emotionally charged. He'd written the first part of his journal that chronicled what he felt was left out of the history books, and therefore, he was a bit less burdened with the past.
A walk sounded like a splendid idea, all 'round.

He showed up at the doorstep of the young lady after about twenty minutes, having had to find directions from the nearest portkey, and after he knocked, he straightened his jacket and waited patiently as he could, looking around him, getting a feel for the neighborhood as it was now. Seemed to have changed only marginally since he last saw it - new buildings, old streets.

He smiled again, shaking his head. Oh, she was just too much.

While on the couch, he turned to her, "Whenever you feel you'd like to go, just say so, Miss Yamamura." He thought about things a moment, then spoke, "I found that in this world, there's quite a bit of history regarding myself and what I'd done. Quite a bit of contention in the facts, the details. There's been books and stories and even a play! I'm very surprised by it all. But the one thing I do enjoy is the music that was written. Frankly, I can hardly get it out of my mind! Every day while I'm working, I catch myself humming it, or whistling. It's very good, well written. Tailored for me, it seems." He blinked as he paused, brow furrowing, "I'm not quite sure I like how well it suits me. In fact, the man who wrote it knows far too much about me, about who I am. What I think."

He then looked back to her. "Have you seen anything about yourself here, Miss Yamamura?"

Sadako immediately wanted to see the play, and to hear the music that Mister Todd couldn't get out of his mind. She wanted to know how he thought and who he was, but she also didn't want to go prying about in his mind. It seemed rude and intrusive, and she had been speaking trusth when she said she was fond of him. She didn't want to discover anything he didn't want her to discover. But songs - she didn't see how those could be bad.

She snorted softly when he asked about anything about herself. "Unfortunately for me, the most common version of my story is an extremely diluted one. For one, they show me as a child. For two, they give me no motivation for my hardships. I was reduced to a bratty child who had issues with her father. If one is to end the world, I should hope one would have a greater reason than that." She folded her arms. "It's one of those movies I was talking about. I don't recommend it." She'd decided to stop killing, but if she found the people who'd written those movies, she would stop their hearts in a second.

Sweeney looked at her and with the most perfect deadpan, he asked, "Would you like to come to New York with me?" And that said, he stood again to go mess with the stereo again, getting it to play CDs, and pressed play. The one inside the player was the only one he owned. It was the one Petit had given him.

The Ballad of Sweeney Todd started to play. "The reason I ask is that I've got a need to meet this Sondheim fellow face-to-face. I must thank him for his contribution, and applaud his musical genius."

And then kill him for his knowledge of a situation that was long before his time, and not his place to know.

Sadako's eyes widened, and her lips curled into a smile of pure pleasure. "Mister Todd, if you're saying what I think you're saying... I would love to go to New York with you." She stretched out her legs, curling her toes inside of her shoes. The idea of killing people who had so altered her story pleased her. Making her a child had been a clever way to cover up her otherness, to gloss over the real reason she'd wanted to eradicate mankind.

The music made her close her eyes, standing up and taking his hand again. She wrapped an arm around his waist, swaying more slowly in time with the music. "If this is what is in your soul, I must admit, I'm humbled."

He put his hand on her shoulder and his other lightly draped around her waist, pulling her just that much closer. "That it is, Miss Yamamura."

He closed his eyes and his lips moved with the lyrics, but he dared not to sing, not out loud. Not yet. He smiled slightly as he thought over his plan to go to New York, "I was considering asking my acquaintance to accompany me, but she's busy, always working. And besides, she's finding my ladies for me, asking more of her would be too much."

He looked to her with a cool, confident expression, "Having your company, on the other hand, is a plan I can live with. And besides, finding those who've wronged you shouldn't be entirely too hard. Lovely world, this one. Where you can find anyone just by typing their names into a computer."

And then he whispered the words to the song which was playing into her ear, along with the soundtrack, still swaying.
"for the cruelty of men is as wonderous as Peru."

She tried not to show how pleased she was that he'd pulled her closer, moving in time with him. "I would love to find them." She smirked a bit, thinking of the tumor she'd make in their aortas, the slow pressure it would build and build - and the pleasure that would come from informing them of their fate. Of knowing their fear.

His voice was lovely, even in whispers, and she closed her eyes, moving a tiny bit closer to him. She smiled to herself, humming lightly along with the music.
