Who: Goyjo and Wolfwood
What: Drinking
Where: A bar
Warnings: language and maleness.

Wolfwood wandered into the bar, looking sad and worldweary. He carried a large cross wrapped in canvas, and a backpack.

He looked for his friend, and gave him half a smile when he saw the man.

Gojyo looked away for a second, "That's about it. The guy was... well, I guess my soul mate, if you believe in that crap. Met him in more than one lifetime, or something like that."

He looked up at him and gave him a sympathetic smile, "I was afraid it was something like that. The, uh, donut guy?"

"I believe in that. And he wasn't my lover or anything, but. . ."

He shrugged. "Just been a long pair of weeks. I'm sorry you lost your man."

Gojyo had waved the bartender over for more drinks and was well into his next drink. He grinned, "A friend? Hell I miss the friend bit more than the lover bit, but I'm a man and am not allowed to admit that."

His grin didn't even seem forced as he shrugged in return, "Everyone I care for leaves eventually. The worst part is seeing my daughter so upset over it and realizing I'm not as upset." He leaned back and grinned at the ceiling before looking around.

"Why are there no hot chicks in tonight? There are usually tons of hot chicks here."

That made Wolfwood chuckle, and he nodded as he listened. "I noticed the lack of women too. Maybe they were driven away by our virile strength?"

That was obviously the answer.

"You usually have to beat them away with sticks. Or just let them fall all over you, which is generally the approach I prefer" His grin was wide and almost a little sleazy. "I thought virile strength was what normally attracted them. Maybe with two of us it was just too much, they all started to feel faint and had to go home." He wasn't quite sure what he was saying, and wasn't really sure how many drinks he'd had at this point.

He nodded sagely, finishing his drink. "Obviously we are just far too manly and handsome when we're together."

The drink was joining a couple others, and the alcohol was finally working into his bloodstream. "You said you've got a daughter?"

"Obviously." He laughed, mostly just laugh.

"Yeah, she's in high school, here. It's a long, crazy story with a different me knocking a girl up before realizing he was actually in love with his best friend and leaving her. Then that whole, random aging thing some kids seem to do around here. So yeah." He didn't seem reluctant to tell the story, but his distaste for the other him, or maybe even for himself, was evident.

Wolfwood patted his shoulder. "We all learn from our mistakes and go on to become better people. That's the one thing I've managed to learn from Vash."

And Millie, but she's a painful subject, too.

"It's a good thing to learn." He grinned up at Wolfwood. "Didn't mean to bring the conversation down. What were we saying before about being manly and handsome? More on that!"

He grinned, not objecting to the subject change at all. "We are definitely handsome and manly. I mean, hell, we even chased away the women, and had to settle with men instead."

"Even the other men here just are not that attractive." He leaned in and gave Wolfwood his sleaziest smile that could easily be interpreted as he was completely joking, or a serious offer, "I suppose we'll have to settle for each other."
