If he'd been less panicked, Gar might have reacted to Emma's telepathic threat. Or perhaps not; Gar did have some experience with psychics, after all. But once the moment was shattered by someone's arrival, Gar's own mind was conjuring up far more threatening scenarios than Emma could have offered, former supervillainess or no.
"I should have known that wasn't your dad. I still have functional limbs." He tried to break the tension with a joke, but the joke bounced off and ricocheted into the distance, metaphorically speaking. "But yeah. I should... I have class and I haven't done anything because of the play and... yeah. Um." He shrugged. "And also, I'm going to embarrass myself if I hang around here much longer, so I'll see you at your party? I'll bring the erotic cake, you bring the erotic ice cream."
