Who: Iren, Haladreth.
What: An argument!
When: A day after the Iren/Norno log..
Haladreth: *is jealous*
Iren: *has to work, damn it ><*
Haladreth: *can get her another job >.<*
Iren: So that I can be lonely and miserable?
Haladreth: *blinks* why would you be?
Iren: *fixes her with a look*
Haladreth: I never thought that I would be enough, but I would make you miserable?
Iren: .... it is your absence that makes me miserable. *sighs* I always thought you wouldn't be able to get over this... issue you have.
Haladreth: I have had..duties. I am sorry...
Iren: *nods*
Haladreth: *reaches over, touches her cheek* If you were healthier, that night, we would not be having this conversation any longer.
Iren: You were drunk. *sighs*
Haladreth: Only slightly.
Iren: You were drunk enough to do something you normally would not.
Haladreth: I wanted it! Iren, believe me. I want it. Is it wrong to shore myself up so that I can have what I want?
Iren: It never ends well, when there are drugs of any kind involved. *sighs, again*
Haladreth: *sighs, and looks up at the ceiling*
Haladreth: *sits down heavily*
Haladreth: *just puts her head in her hands*
Iren: *watches her* I love you. But I can't ... sit here, and make you fight yourself..... or.... I want you to want me without having to struggle with it, all the time.
Haladreth: *tangles fingers in her own hair, slightly.* The feeling..is entirely mutual.
Haladreth: *takes Iren's hand and pulls her over*
Iren: *sits on her lap*
Haladreth: *wraps her arms around her waist and buries her face into her shoulder*
Haladreth: *raaaare vunerabilty!*
Iren: *runs her fingers through Haladreth's hair* Let it out....
Haladreth: *hugs Iren and half-heartedly tells her about the Khamul!interrogations*
Iren: *keeps running her fingers through Haladreth's hair, nodding here and there and making noises that indicate she's listening sympathetically*
Haladreth: *then keeps going**softly* Loving is not easy, for me...
Iren: *isn't sure how to reply to that, so just nods, again, and massages at her back a bit*
Haladreth: I was wed when I was fourteen. It was not out of love, but out of tradition and necessity. We got along, and were close, but it has been so long that I scarcely remember if we loved.
Iren: I am not the best person to ask. I sell love every day, but that does not mean I am allowed to feel it. *lets out a bit of a sigh* I know that I can't stop thinking about you, though.. that has to be love...?
Iren: It's more than that... you... make me FEEL things... and... want to change, and... it's like a storm that doesn't break, between us.
Haladreth: That is ..better than I could say it, right now, I think. I want to protect you, and lay with you, and show you things, and learn things from you.
Iren: I have very little to teach you, unless you count dancing and massage. *chuckles*
Haladreth: I would not mind learning either.
Iren: *smiles* *cuddles Haladreth* I fear I'm not the type who is very good at protecting other people, but.... I could teach you those things, yes, and... laying with you, yes.
Haladreth: I could teach you things, so that you do not have to lay with others >.>
Iren: If it is just the money, I have some other ideas. I was never compelled to do much about them, before.
Haladreth: What sort of ideas? *traces her fingers over Iren's face*
Electricity: *hi crackle!*
Iren: *shudders a bit, leans into Haladreth's touch*
Iren: A theatre is opening up, I may see if they need help with costumes, or something...
Iren: The owners made a deal with the Lady of the House here, and took Meril as part of the contract. *sighs* I miss her.
Haladreth: *blinks*
Iren: One of our dancers. The dark one, with the swords and things. She dropped a dagger on her foot.
Haladreth: The elf?!
Iren: *blinks* .... Yes?
Iren: *wants to facepalm* How did I not notice that?
Haladreth: She hid it well. I am glad she has been taken out of that place.
Iren: This place. That I am in, as well.
Haladreth: *snorts*
Haladreth: So she works for a theatre now? That is not a terrible thing.
Iren: Nay, it is not. Of course, I never thought working HERE was all that terrible, either. ... I really wanted her to teach me that dagger routine, too. *sighs a bit*
Iren: I'm not sure I have the kind of energy to dance, yet, though I've managed a few massages.
Haladreth: *doesn't look too happy about that*
Haladreth: *Doesn't look happy at all!*
Iren: *notices, lets out a little sigh* What did you expect me to do? Sit here, amongst my books, and pretend that I did not still work here?
Haladreth: You know my feelings on this place. *stubborn*
Iren: And you know mine. *stubborn, too*
Haladreth: I can..accept some of it. *is actually..somewhat afraid Iren might fall back into the more sexual aspects of the place*
Iren: *considers that a worthy fear, since she was highly considering it with that one client today* *snorts* What parts, exactly?
Haladreth: Dancing.
Iren: Yet you're happy that Meril isn't dancing here anymore.
Haladreth: She is an elf. And you can both dance at the theatre. It is the..context.
Iren: *sighs* There is nothing wrong with this place.
Haladreth: There is in terms of how others percieve it!
Iren: *rolls her yes* Haladreth, I love you, but your opinions are stuck in the Second Age, I swear it.
Haladreth: Numenor was more liberal. *smirks*
Iren: Then perhaps I need your opinions to be FROM the Second Age. *chuckles*
Haladreth: Most people do not see Jun as anything more than a place of ill repute. A elf working here, even if she just dances, reflects poorly upon all elves and those who speak highly of them.
Iren: Those would be the sort of people who are unenlightened. *totally doesn't realise she's repeating Avarian's words here*
Haladreth: The king agreed with me. Fortunately she already left.
Iren: *is somewhat furious over that* *gets up off Haladreth's lap*
Haladreth: *sighs* *Tries to stop her*
Iren: *isn't stopped* *walks over to the window*
Haladreth: This is another thing that I do not think you will ever understand, unless you have spent time amongst the elves.
Iren: But when last I looked, except for the few las that exist here, everyone in this city was still free to do with their lives what they wished.
Haladreth: that is not...never mind. *stands*
Iren: .... You had no right to do that. If I was her I would have been extremely angry with you. What next, will you go to the King about me?
Haladreth: Nay >.<
Iren: What would he have done? Ordered her out?
Haladreth: I know not.
Iren: I suppose you wouldn've been very pleased with yourself if he had.
Haladreth: Yes and no.
Iren: Explain?
Haladreth: I am not without compassion >.> .
Iren: *sighs*
Haladreth: I just..very strongly..am against an elf being in this place.
Iren: Yes, and do you know why?
Haladreth: Elves cannot be with more than one person. Ever. Their souls bond. They become, in essence, one being. To have one work here, it...gives false impressions.
Haladreth: And works against something sacred.
Iren: She only danced.
Haladreth: I do not care and nor would any man who walked through those front doors!
Iren: There are NUMEROUS girls here, in fact, that only dance, or massage, or serve drinks.
Iren: To assume that such things happen to every single person here, MERELY because they happen in private rooms, is the basest form of idiocy.
Iren: I am not her, and even *I* am insulted by your feelings on this. *points behind her, toward the door* If you feel so strongly about such things, we are NEVER going to be able to be together.
Iren: I am not the most base thing in the world, because of what I do, she wasn't, for working here.
Iren: You say you love me and then you raise yourself above everything in this place, even me. *shakes her head*
Haladreth: Sacred things, Iren. I do not..know, why you cannot understand. But we can all rise out of the darkness, and you are anything but base. *looks at her for a moment, almost heartbroken, and then walks out*
Iren: *doesn't BELIEVE in sacred things*
Iren: *storms over to the door, and KICKS it for good measure, then burns through the rest of her energy being angry, and passes out >.>*
