Who: Celeborn and Maglor
What: Celeborn gets talky with Maglor
When: After Celeborn talking to Ithi & Before Maggie and Ithi talking. <3
Celeborn: *walks into the library, pausing here and there to pick up a book and look at it*
Maglor: *is still in the library, sitting at a large table, surrounded by open books, and is taking...notes...seriously outlined Noldor notes* *and looks very lordly wearing blue and silver embroidered robes, too, not that he's acting very lordly...nor is he ever about to, since he's being fidget fussy while trying to read over ten things and having to switch back and forth between books*
Celeborn: *walks over, and stands behind him, silently watching for a few moments, then says* There is an author I would suggest.
Maglor: *nearly threw the book he was holding, fumbles with it, then...sets it down, like no fumbling or near-throwing ever happened* *eyedarts* Oh...are they a poet or a historian?
Maglor: *was obviously overly engrossed and didn't notice anyone standing behind him or even drawing near, nope*
Celeborn: A little bit of both. He wrote under several psuedonyms, and few knew who he really was. But he was an excellent playwright. I particularly enjoyed one particular tale of his, to which he wrote a sequel poem to.
Maglor: Oh, uhmm... *takes up his quill and taps out some excess ink before getting ready to write another note* ...and what was this poet and playwright's name, so that I might look over his work?
Celeborn: Elendil Voronda, the first High King of Gondor and Arnor, and Elessar's direct ancestor. You can cross reference his name to find his psuedonyms. *takes a seat and looks at some of the books Maglor has laying around*
Maglor: *writes that down, and then sighs before saying in a soft voice* ...poets and historians, for the most part, and a history of what Gondorians consider theatrical arts...which seems to have suffered as much as their appreciation for music has. Not that I can blame them, as apparently they have been through much in so short a time.
Celeborn: *nods his head* That is why I thought you'd find Elendil's works more to your liking. Some consider him the last great playwright. *shakes his head* That, however, is not why I am here. Not entirely, anyway.
Maglor: *nods and makes a note to look up Elendil's work if they still have any copies that aren't crumbling away or dusted over too badly to be read clearly* You are, perhaps, here to bug the librarians for books, while you watch over my ailing cousin?
Celeborn: Nay, I am here to talk to you about your betrothed.
Celeborn: I am worried about her. She told me all that had happened, and I think it has affected her more deeply than she is letting on to you, or anyone.
Maglor: *stares at the books with a clearly worried and pensive expression, then sighs, long and low, under his breath* I told them both, that I had rather it was me who had done that deed, than her. Neither of them would agree to it.
Maglor: *looks miserable and guilty again, and starts closing the books* I will go talk to her.
Celeborn: It would have been worse for you, I think, than for her. *puts a hand on Maglor's* Be patient with her, but be stern. Do not let her be stubborn and refuse to talk to you.
Celeborn: I told her what she did was a good thing, because it took away the darkness and restored a little bit of light to the world.
Maglor: *knows he will once again be facing off trying to reason with a brick wall, and looks rather resigned about it* *just nods*
Celeborn: For all that your family has a temper, for all that they have done, I feel that you all have earned a second chance. And she enabled that.
Maglor: I did not say it was a bad thing that she did, only that I suggested it and should have followed through with my own suggestion. -_- *gathers up the books, and his notes*
Celeborn: But she feels it was a terrible thing. Because she had to shut off the part of her that feels to do it, like one would in combat, and she is having difficulty switching it back on.
Celeborn: She will try to push you away, though I cautioned her not to, as she fears to lose you. It is not rational. I told her that would be a mistake, and I think she agreed. It helped that I admitted I've made mistakes of my own. *winks*
Maglor: She already has tried to do so. I am no stranger to such things. *sighs and shakes his head, then picks up the books in his arms, notes tucked into them, and starts to head for the exit*
Maglor: *stops only to tell the librarians that he'll bring the books back tomorrow, since they're all second or third copies of originals, anyway* *exits library looking like condemned elf, again*
Celeborn: Maglor! She does love you. Do not forget that. Loving people can often be the hardest thing you can do.
Maglor: *says before doors close behind him in a sigh-voice* I know...I know...
Celeborn: *sighs* I swear, when he weds her the joy will kill him.
