There were, of course, some bad times that went with the good, but Roxanne didn't feel like focusing on those memories. Right now, the important thing to do was share the good times - of which there were plenty - and focus on how happy they were. Besides, their humdrum, every day problems of the past hardly seemed to matter when, stuck on the island, their family wasn't even together.
Roxanne couldn't say she was keen on seeing her father again - at least not this father, the father on the island - but her mother was right. He should hear about their real life. Maybe if he did, he'd reconsider his choices. And even if he didn't do that much, at least he'd have an idea on what he was letting go.
"That's a good idea," Roxanne replied after a moment of consideration. "I think I will."
