I want to apologize for how quiet I've been. I haven't been doing well lately (had emergency surgery on my spine) and so I haven't been inspired lately.

I'm going home with my mom for a little bit tomorrow so I probably won't be available again until Sunday. Hopefully, by then, I will have something written to share.

Hi all! This is the first I've really had time to do this, so saying Hi! I'm Jo, I'll be your Lorna and Birdy player here. I'm twenty something, a mom and a full time desk slave.

The jury is still out on Lorna's paternity, but either way she'll be up for grabs to whatever side gets to her first, though in the end, I'd like her to end up with the X-Men.

And Birdy... Birdy likes whoever pays the pills. ^___^

I'm Poppy, and I play Kitty Pryde. I'm 17, a junior in highschool, so basically most of my life is based around that. I play the string bass; I'm on the color guard and on the Speech team. Roleplay-wise, I've been playing around with fanons for as long as I can remember, starting with Harry Potter and lately Heroes. I like to explore characters rather than plots, I guess. My Kitty is mostly influenced by Astonishing X-Men.

I have a few ideas for scenes, which I'll keep updated on my journal, but first I'll get Kitty situated at the Mansion. She just graduated from UChicago, so she won't really know what happened in the last few years. Still, I think she'll have some strong relationships with Bobby and Emma, maybe Storm and Wolverine, too. If you have any ideas for scenes or want to chat, just hit me up on AIM (toeatbrains) or on this journal. I'm pretty active. :)

For the Brotherhood players,

Magneto has a plan and here it is:

Basically instead of barging into the mutant rights fight like a bull at the gates, Magneto has decided to take a sneakier route. He's focusing on elections and putting a candidate he supports into office, fight the problem from the inside out. I haven't decided on who the NPC!Candidate is yet, but there will be one.

He is also going to need his Brotherhood's help to release jailed mutants, to let them loose on NYC. The idea is to show his candidate in good light when his candidate is able to bring them back under control where the current guy in charge is unable to do that.

There will be also chances for members to participate in sabotaging votes for the other candidate, that sorta thing. It's kinda rough but that's the idea that he has. I also knew Meesha wants to have a clash between Magneto's Brotherhood and her new group, which is definitely something we can do.

Let me know if anybody wants to scene :)

I've already sent you several IMs regarding the Pinch/Pyro thread and that it was your turn to tag. I replied to your thread in the hopes of facilitating interaction between our muses and I like to think we've been doing well thus far, but if the thread doesn't finish soon I will be moving Pyro onto something else. It's been open since the 6th February and it is now the 2nd March.

Either reply or I'll assume the thread is finished and we can both move our characters on from there.

Okay, okay, okay.... I do believe I owe all of you an explanation for my whereabouts. Last week my house flooded while everyone was at work - we have a first floor laundry room and it totally flooded our entire kitchen and then dripped down all over everything we have in the basement. Its been a really traumatic time, we had tons and tons and tons of photos and all sorts of other things that need to be sorted, salvaged or replace. PLUS, working, going to school and trying to fit in leisure time - Unite got brushed to the wayside.

BUT, I'm back and I'm totally wanting to rally the troops, inspire those that needed and just generally kick everyone in the BUTT!

So heres the game plan, we've got 3 applications that need to be approved - thats the mods first priority. Second priority is to get all the new characters situated (*eyes Lorna and MacKenzie*). And thirdly I want to get on top of threads that have gone awry and/or scenes that need to be finished.

This is what I know so far as being outstanding threads:

Mystique and the X Factor
MacKenzie and Dazzler
Pinch and Pyro
Emma and Bobby
Deahand Jean
Rogue and Magma
Magneto and Quicksilver

And then I know I have outstanding AIM scenes I need to finish (for me personally):
Dazzler and Multiple Man
Sebastian Shaw and Tessa

Now I know there were some other talks of doing some scenes:
Deah hiring Deadpool
Something with Mystique coming across either Lorna or Wanda (or both) with the assumed form of Quicksilver...

I don't know whether its the winter blues that's getting me down, a good dose of Seasonal Affective Disorder, or maybe just that I'm getting my period but I'm a depressed mod.

We've all been in super games where there are twenty thousand players playing twenty thousand characters and they seem to update quickly and with frequency. Well, I recently joined one and it got me thinking about Unite... I mean how could I not? Which lead me to thinking about my own inadequacies as a moderator. Am I doing right by everyone in the game? If we base this on activity I'd have to say no.

What is it that makes these games flourish? Where am I lacking? If you kept your eye on the game you can see I've been updating and creating new summary entries for a quick at-a-glance reference to what's been going on in the game. I try to keep things relatively updated and I also try to supply you with an ample amount of eye-candy (layouts, graphics and such.)

I try to keep things fun and exciting and I hate trying to enforce rules. Heck, this is a game not a job and I don't want to pressure anyone to play and I totally understand that real life always comes first. Period. But where should I draw the line? I received some suggestions that every scene/thread gets a two week shelf life, meaning that the players have up to two weeks for the scene to finish before its archived.

Also, I think this is important. I really appreciate when people IM me to explain their absences, but please don't. That places the burden of responsibility on me to inform everyone else. Please use the OOC community for this - as a courtesy to the other players (and to me.)

I just want to know if I'm here too much? Or not enough? Am I doing things I should be doing? Just...let me know.
