Paging Mystique, your file is ready
Characters: The X-factor (Jamie dupe) and Mystique
Location: Jamie's secret lair!
Timeline: A week or so after the impromptu brotherhood mission assigning.
Description: Jamie's the World's greatest detective. 'nuff said.
The room he had set up shop in was dark, dank and infested but damn it all, it was home. A small desk lamp was the only source of light in the room and the worse better half of Jamie Madrox was working under the cone of light. The tip of the pen scratched across the surface of his little note pad jotting down some inconsistencies and things that stood out in his mind. His mind worked just a bit differently than most and so notes were needed to explain his logic to the others. Clicking away a few more times on the keys of his newly acquired laptop, he sorted through the information that Mystique provided.
The blue witch kept good files but he needed some first hand evidence collection. The X-factor wasn’t the type to sit in a room reviewing information on a computer. He needed to be out there causing chaos or doing something exciting. The previous week he visited the hotel where the final confrontation had occurred and using his silver tongue he talked his way into the storage area of the hotel. They kept all of the furniture and fortunately for him the room was still under construction so parts of the damage was still there for examination. The next stop had been the local precinct and some first hand accounts from the initial officers on the crime scene.
These efforts had all been just to kill time because Madrox already connected all the players. He was good and he knew it so when he contacted Mystique, he couldn’t help but sound cocky. This dupe was everything Jamie wasn’t, confident, cocky, sleazy and just a bit full of himself and what was worse, he knew this. “Jesus this broad takes her time.” He spoke to no one in particular as he busied himself with a game of solitaire. If she didn’t show up he was going to leave and let the Brotherhood leader find this Clarice girl herself.
