WHEN: 12p

WITH: a few random passers by, half-stale baguettes, and DUCKS
STATUS: Closed/incomplete
Draco apparated to a stand of trees in St. James park before strolling toward a bench near the water. It rested beneath a tree, lonely and just far enough off the paths to be ignored unless one was looking for a private place, and looking hard. Draco often went there to think, and occasionally wondered if there were a muggle-repelling charm on it, for he'd never seen it in use.
He made his way over, sitting down on the bench and setting down the small basket he carried beside him. Immediately the ducks began coming closer, looking for a treat. Draco was sure there must be someone who came by more often than him to feed them - they were simply too tame. Pulling out a loaf of nearly-off bread he'd gotten from his house-elf, Niggle, Draco broke a few pieces off to toss to the voracious little beasties to pass the time.
Hearing a few steps come up behind him, he glanced over his shoulder, before looking back at the ducks and tossing them a few more crumbs as he overheard the conversation of the men passing behind him. Would they bother him? He'd told Theo to meet him there, he didn't want to have to go elsewhere, and have to somehow let Theo know where he'd moved their meeting place to.
"I'm going to go tell Blondie to get out of our spot - that's our spot, he has no right to-"
"It is a public park, my dear, no need to get all ruffled. We'll just have to come back later today, he is unlikely to be here too long."
"Look, he's feeding our ducks. Those are-"
"Ducks that will still eat your pumpernickle just as well after his baguette, my dear, as they would have if he hadn't come by."
"You're too much of a good influence on me...."
Draco strained to hear the rest of the conversation, picking up on a few more words of complaint from the first man, and more calming tones from the second. As they passed behind him, he glanced back a second time to get a look at them. Ugh, did muggles REALLY still wear tartan like that? The blond man looked like he would get along with McGonagall, while the darker definitely had far more style, if a bit too slick.
Draco kept glancing at them until they went out of sight, and was satisfied they would leave him alone, and tossed more bread at the ducks while he waited for Theo.
