Who: Sam and Susan
When: June 19, 2002; just after lunch.
Where: Leaky Cauldron
What: Sam needs to get out of his own head before he freaks out.
Rating: PG-13 for possible swears.
Status: Closed/In progress.

Sam just had to get out of his head. So he closed up shop early; put a sign that said family emergency in the window; and went to pick Gabriel up from the babysitter. Now, here he sat, rubbing Gabriel's back, trying to coax a burp out of the little boy, at the Leaky Cauldron of all places.

Sam knew he wasn't the only one going through this. So it was a comfort to be among other people who likely were, even though he didn't know who exactly was getting married other than Malcolm. He had cast a little charm around the table to keep excess noise and smoke away for Gabriel.

He waved over the waitress and tried not to look completely miserable. Just then, Gabriel burped and Sam cooed, "Oh, did that feel good little pea?" He rubbed the baby's back some more, just cradled him against his chest.

	"You are very welcome." She said, giggling a little and made herself more comfortable in the chair. "Of course I do. My Aunt Jacklyn had a baby during my 5th year at school and it was during break, mind you and I babysat during Christmas time." She told him with a grin and licked her lips. 	She held out her hand. "I'm Susan Bones." She said, as she decided to pull her hair out of the messy bun and shook it out a little. "You looked familiar when you walked through the door. We must have gone to school together." She said. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Susan gasped, as she got a good look at his son and smiled. "Aw, he's just as handsome as his father." She said,running ah and through her hair and chewed on her bottom lip a little bit. "When was he born? Tell me everything that happened." She said, gasping nad looked around a bit nervoulsy. "So sorry..I shouldn't pry." She told him and didn't realize she was blushed slightly.

	This woman was definitely amusing. And it really helped his mood. She was sunny and it was a little difficult not to be the same way. He laughed a little. "Um. He was born on the 14th of March, 6 weeks premature. He was so small when I finally got to bring him home. Only 5 and a half pounds. You'd never guess now. Here." She took ahold of Gabriel and grinned at the littleb oy. "Well, aren;t you just the sweetest little thing." She said, softly, as she held him closely to her and leaned back in the chair, as she wanted him to be comfortable with her andshe wanted to feel a bit more comfortablely in this hard chair, as well. She smiled, as she looked back up at Sam. "Where is his mother? I mean, did shej ust up and run or something?" She knew she was asking way too much questions and looked back down at the baby. "I'm not trying to be a pain or anything. I just nevermind." She was rambling nad was being stupid in the processo f trying to get to know this guy.

	"It's okay," Sam smiled. He didn't know why, normally he wasn't this open with people. He just...liked her. "She--well, sort of. It was--what we had wasn't a serious thing." Really, they were together just for the sex. "Anyway, a couple months after we broke up, she called to tell me she was pregnant and that if I didn't want him, she was giving him up for adoption."
