WHO: Asteria and Daphne
WHEN: June 19th, 2002
WHERE: Around London
WHAT: Shopping!
RATING: E for Everyone
STATUS: Closed // In Progress

Despite all the pressure, stress, and all around anger that had been generated by the announcement of these Ministry Approved marriages, Asteria had found one small aspect that she could be happy about. Being one of two daughters that were absolutely spoiled by their father, she was quite looking forward to the dress shopping. It was a once and a life time thing, after all, and if she couldn't have the fairy tale wedding then she certainly was having the fairy tale dress. She knew that Daphne wasn't exactly looking forward to any of it, but she was hoping the older girl would relax just for a little bit and have some fun. Shopping wouldn't be as fun if she wasn't enjoying herself. Slipping into a pair of comfortable shoes, Asteria grabbed her keys and apparated over to her sister's.

"Daphne? Are you ready?" she called, letting herself in, Daphne's kneazle immediately coming over to great her as it normally did.

Daphne shrugged as her sister mentioned their father giving them access to his account. She never turned down money regardless of how much she had. This just meant she could spend more on a plain dress than she had originally wanted to. She abused her privileges from time to time. Her fathers money being number one.

"Shall we, then?" she questioned, just wanting to leave and come back. Daphne hated shopping when she had to. It was much easier to do so when she wanted to. Today was not one of those occasions, but at least she was getting out of the house.

Asteria nodded and headed back out the way she had come, allowing Daphne the time to lock her door and shut off any lights that needed to be. "I figured there are a couple of nice shops just southwest of Regents Park that we could go to. Saves us traveling all over London."

She'd shopped around a bit the day before to find a good location. All 5 of the stores were within close distance of each other and amongst them, they should very well have everything they could need. "Do you happen to have an idea of what you're looking for?"

Daphne just gave a nod, acknowledging what her sister was saying, but not replying back. She was just there to tag along, not necessarily buy a dress. Surely she had a plain white dress somewhere in her closet. She'd have to look after this day was done and over with. "Sure thing," she finally replied, getting her door locked and shut behind her.

Since Daphne rarely went out unless she really needed to spend an awful lot of money, she didn't really pay much attention to what stores were where and what place would have just what she was looking for. Again, she was just there to tag along, maybe try on a dress that struck her fancy. "Uhm," she began, looking over at Asteria. "A dress. Standard white would work, I guess." Yeah, she was a smart ass.

Asteria gave her a pointed look. "You know, I never would have guessed that!" she responded, torn between amusement and disappointment. "I know you're not impressed with this whole mess, but you should at least get some sort of enjoyment out of it. Even if it is spending a ridiculous amount of money on a dress you're going to wear but once before ripping it into a thousand pieces and flushing it down the loo."

"And who knows, if you get shoes with a good heel, it might be fun to throw them at someone." She responded, with a shrug. "I bet they'd get a good bounce if you aimed them for Aunt Meridth's hair." The woman was known for her ridiculously large hair and snooty attitude. To this day, she still couldn't understand how that woman could be of any relation to their father. It was her honest opinion that Grandfather Greengrass had had his proverbial hand in more then one cookie jar....though, she supposed it could have been their Grandmother....but that was neither here nor there.

Daphne laughed quietly. Yeah, she was going to be a smart ass for the most of the day if she could get away with it. "I'm going to spend as much possible money on the ugliest dress I can possibly find," Daphne joked, looking over at her sister with amusement. "And the shoe thing. Think I could hit one of the boys in the head if they say anything during the ceremony? I've been working on my throwing skills," she teased.

The mention of Aunt Meredith made Daphne let out another short laugh. "I dunno, might put a weasle or something in her hair. Perhaps a small rat or a bees nest. Whichever I find first, I suppose."

"Well, if you're going to go with the ugliest one you should find, I suggest something other than white. White is lovely. Perhaps something a little more putrid. Say orange?" She responded, raising an amused eyebrow. "Or perhaps that shiny olive colour. Nothing more beautiful than resembling a piece of rotting foliage."

The boys. They had certainly been a topic floating around her mind for the past few days. She knew they weren't happy about this entire marriage issue but she didn't know they were going to react to seeing it happening. "I do hope the boys will behave. I'm sure mother will do what she can. I'd feel really bad for Harry and Roger if they opted to push the line. Let's face it neither Harry nor Roger is any match for the boys."

"I happen to like that shiny olive color!" Daphne exclaimed with a laugh. She did for some strange reason. Not that she found it terribly attractive, but it just worked with her. But ... not in a wedding dress. That was too odd. Daphne laughed again and looked over at her sister, shaking her head some.

"I told Harry just to steer clear of them. Dad is too tolerable toward this, mum is too angry and the boys will have too much fun if we let them. I'll take Carlisle, you take Braedon," she said with a smirk. Daphne could talk either one of her brothers out of anything, but as her older was her favorite, she'd take him on instead, leaving Braedon for Astoria. "We could just lie and say we're madly in love and that if they touched either Roger or Harry, we'd kill them."

"I always thought you needed your head checked." she responded, sticking her tongue out at her sister. It was childish, but she couldn't care. It was all in fun and every so often it was nice to not be a responsible adult. Perhaps that's why her and Mikael were such good friends. Irresponsibility always seemed to follow them around when they were together.

"It's a deal." While Braedon was harder to handle, he also had a weakness for tears and waterworks was something Asteria had learned to turn on and off as a child. She couldn't count the times she'd used it against her father or one of her brothers in order to get her way. "Perhaps, I should warn Roger about the boys. It seems only fair."

Finally reaching the apparation point, she stepped into the alley out of view. "Know where you're going or are you tagging along?" she asked, waiting for the response before she was going to apparate.
