It was a slow day. No one had come in. Even the street out front looked deserted. What is with London, today? He leaned on the check out counter, chewing a pen and reading the liner notes of the current CD he had playing. Orff's Carmina Buranna. He'd taken off the normal stuff that played when the place was busy because he was getting sick of it and no one was in there anyway.

He glanced around the shop and took in the ecclectic feel, the rows and rows of CDs and records. It wasn't all high-tech and cold looking like HMV. Instead, it was warm and inviting, like a book shop. There was a listening booth at the back of the shop; something that was frequented often by his regular customers. He sold everything, from pop and rock to romantic and classical. This place filled him with a sense of pride. He'd made this shop work and be successful.

He wondered how Gabriel was doing. The little boy was spending the day with Grandma. So, at least he knew his son was in the best of care.

O Fortuna began and Sam closed his eyes. It was well known, yes. Often bastardized to sell crap, yes. So much so that Orff was likely rolling in his grave, but he did love it.

Just then, the bell on the door tinkled.

Blaise stepped into the music store, glancing around the empty space with curiosity. So apparently it wasn't a very busy day. How had he found himself there? It was Eden again. It was nearly the girl's birthday and she had already begun pestering him about gifts, owling him everyday to remind him how upset she would be if he didn't get her anything worthwhile. Why oh why did he cater to that child's wishes? He crossed the room and moved to the counter where a blond man stood and he spoke.

"Is there anything you could recommend for a fifteen year old girl?" He studied the man as he spoke and after a moment he placed the face. Samuel Bradley. "Oh, hello."
He didn't know the other man all that well but their families were distantly familiar. He hadn't known he owned a music shop.

"Good afternoon," Sam smiled politely straightening up. Familiar, familiar, familiar. Kept going through his head though he wasn't quite sure why. "Um. Well, it depends on what type of girl she is." He reached beneath the counter and flipped a switch on the CD changer and Orff turned into Coldplay. "Could you describe her a bit and I'll see what I can do for you?"

Blaise's lips twitched. So maybe he wasn't as easily recognizable as he thought he was. "Blaise, Blaise Zabini." He reached out a hand to Sam. "And to describe her...loud, spoiled, bright, flashy, and kind of sweet in her own way. Is that of any help?"

"Oh," Sam said quietly. He smiled a little. "Sorry. I--I'm not good with faces." He shook Blaise's hand. "Hmm. And you said she's fifteen?" He came out from around the counter and motioned for Blaise to follow him.

"Apparently." Blaise folded his arms over his chest and allowed Samuel to lead him. "Yes, she's fifteen."

He glanced around the shop again. He had never been inside of this place before, let alone any music store, though he had passed it a few times but it was an interesting little building. "Nothing too complicated please."

Sam had been reaching for a CD when he paused and glanced at Blaise. Then said slowly, "What, exactly, does that mean?" All music was complicated, when you got right down to it.

Blaise blinked at him for a moment, a brow lifted. What did he mean 'what does that mean'? It all sounded fairly simple to him. "Something that isn't too difficult to understand. She wouldn't much appreciate it."

"Okay. I don't think we're on the same wavelength here. And I don't want to get all philosophical on you. Why don't I pick out some things and then you can go into the listening booth with them? That way we can make sure it's not too complicated," Sam suggested. He picked up a few CDs; Daniel Bedingfield, Coldplay, some others more like dance music. "Try those."
