For once Mikael was early instead of fashionable late and promptly decided that this was something worth celebrating. Leaning against the bar he ordered a double shot of whiskey before his eyes scanned the crowd. Considering that it was Monday evening there were quite a lot of people and Mikael enjoyed the steady flow of conversation around him. He'd gotten off work early today and actually managed to grab an hour of sleep and a proper meal before getting ready for the night. Tonight's choice of clothing was on the more colourful side. Blue washed-out jeans, tight red t-shirt, black cardigan and orange scarf. What to say, Mikael was in a good mood tonight.

Downing his first shot of whiskey his eyes wandered to the door as he grew just a bit impatient. Waiting was one of the things he didn't like at all.

It took Draco a while to get ready for the night ahead of him. He didn’t know what to expect by suggesting a night out on the town with Harper, but it was better than dwelling on his situation. Anything was better than the silence of his house and the horrid thoughts of actually having to go through with what the Ministry insisted. The big hand of the clock had just hit ten to nine before Draco slammed his front door behind him. His parents were out somewhere together for three days – probably to escape the drama surrounding their son – but the excuse they gave was that his mother was feeling a little claustrophobic in the house. It looked like the Slytherin Alumni was dressed for a funeral, black shirt, white tie, long black coat. The only informal clothing he wore was his black jeans and even they looked as though they had been ironed to an inch of their life.

A pop echoed down the silent path as Draco apparated to the front door of the Devil’s Lair, the gathering place for the pub-crawl. Before he left the house he had noticed Mikael’s little invitation but didn’t think much of it – he doubted many people would join in on the fun and he didn’t mind if people did. Company was company. However, this picture didn’t include Katie. In an instant he recognised the blonde mop of hair sat at the bar and walked calm paces towards his companion.

Even though his feet were taking him in the direction of Mikael, his eyes were straying across the pub for any interesting people. By interesting, Draco meant good looking, and by good looking, he meant someone he could get his one drop of happiness out of before he was doomed for the rest of eternity. “Strongest drink you have.” He grumbled his request and sat next to Mikael without greeting.

A smirk played around Mikael's lips when the door opened and Draco Malfoy entered the pub, looking like he was going to hex the first person who'd cross his way. That was to say, he looked as he always did. Leaning back in his chair Mikael downed the rest of his drink, relishing in the burning of his throat and the warmth the whiskey left behind. Setting the glass down forcefully he winked at the bartender.

"Keep those coming, will you?"

Turning around a bit Mikael stared at Draco, the corners of his mouth curling into a grin.

“What?” Draco turned just in time to see the blondes lips tug into a grin. Some said smiles were contagious, but not for Draco. Not today, anyway. In return, he just frowned. Now that he was sat comfortably at the bar, Draco shrugged off his coat and flicked it on the back of his chair, making sure that it didn’t touch the floor before he reverted his attentions to Mikeal.

“How long have you been here for?” He finally asked, nodding in thanks to the bartender who slid his drink across the wooden surface. Draco didn’t care much for the answer, but it was a conversation starter – and he needed conversation. Draco straightened his shoulders out and held the glass in his hand, swirling the liquid (which amused him for all of two seconds) around before chugging it back in one swift movement.

"Damn Malfoy, your patience is growing thinner and thinner. I remember times when I could stare at your for five minutes before you snapped," Mikael shook his head in amusement.

"Not too long, actually. Decided to have a drink in order to celebrate that for once I was early and not late. Awesome, huh?" Mikael reached over the bar and took the glass and the whiskey bottle from the bartender with a charming smile.

"I'll take that, thank you."

Pouring himself another generous drink he sat back again with a satisfied sigh.

"So tell me, why don't you go off and marry Pansy? Would make you happier and she wouldn't have to poison Wood."

Malfoy gave an arch of his eyebrow to the other male and shook his head, a picture of disbelief painted on his features. “I’m also far more controlled. By now, had we been back at school, I would have punched your nose in.” Or found someone else to do it for him, he had fingers to keep straight and unharmed.

“Yeah.” If Draco counted the amount of times the guy said awesome he’d be even richer than he was to this day. “How many drinks do you plan on having here before we move on?” he poured himself a new glass of alcohol and spent the next couple of seconds scanning the room for talent. If she saw anyone he liked, he’d be more inclined to down a larger quantity of drinks. “Actually, are we even expecting anyone else?” If not, then he’d drink for all the people they were missing.

For a moment Draco contemplated ignoring the latter question and his lips pursed quickly. It was a fair comment; however Draco didn’t like the sound of marriage at all – no matter if it was with a friend. “I don’t want to marry at all, not yet. Besides, where is the fun in that?”

"You never punched my nose in. That would've been work and everyone knows that Draco Malfoy doesn't work," Mikael replied cheerfully, downing another shot of whiskey.

"How many? As many as it takes," He shrugged, eyes scanning the crowd again. "Tia said she'd drop in, but I have absolutely no idea if anyone else is going to come. Not that I care, their loss not ours." Another shrug.

"Ah, I know what you mean. Always knew I had to eventually settle down with a woman, but not like this. Stupid ministry." Mikael pouted, deciding that in order to conquer his misery he had to pour himself an extra generous drink.
