Who: Sam, Open
When: Sunday July 20th; day after his wedding; early evening
Where: A park in London, after work.
What: Trying to enjoy the sunshine

Sam was laying in the grass in the park, looking up at the sky. He didn't have to get Gabriel that night, his mother was watching her grandson, so he was just enjoying the sunshine, contemplating his whole situation. He never thought he'd be working the day after his wedding, never thought he'd be by himself the day after his wedding. Then again, he also thought he'd be in love with the person he married.

Not that he was complaining. Penelope was certainly better than his first match. He actually liked Penelope. This was just--he knew it could be worse, but somehow, that didn't make him feel any better. He wanted to just get away, or at least get out of his head for a while.

With a sigh, he lifted his hand to inspect his wedding ring.

"That's good." She said, as she glanced at his ring and wrinkled her nose and sighed. "So, how does married life feel to you?" She asked him, knowing it was a little awkward. "I'vem issed seeing you around and everything. I would have sent an owl, but I was afraid that Penelope might think something was going on between us or something." She said, rambling a little bit. She began playing with her wedding ring and cleared her throat.

	"No different really. Penelope and I'll be moving in together as per the legislation, but other than that, nothing seems to have changed and I'm not sure if that's good or bad," he replied, playing with the grass. She smiled, as she took his hand and looked at him for a few moments. "I hope that you're happy. I hope that you and Penelope can..can be together without any problems. Just remember..I'm here to babysit whenever you need me." She said, with a grin and leaned forward, kissing him on the cheek and released his hand, scratching her forehead. She had loosened up enough to feel more and more comfortable around him, especially since he was one of her friends.

	"A part of me is happy....happy not to be alone anymore, but another part of me wishes that i could have just stayed alone and died by myself." She said, sniffling and trying to stay calm and not start crying. "Getting upset won't help me...I know for a fact it won't." She said, staring down at the grass. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Sam moved closer until he could pull her into a hug. "It feels good though. Crying." He just held her close, let her do what she had to. God knew he'd cried often enough. The pain and hurt got to be too much sometimes. Crying certainly helped. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

She wrapped her arms around him tightly and broke down. "It's not fair..Everyone I've loved has been taken from me and I feel so alone. That's why I've buried myself into my work and everything so that I can forget about my parents and all of my family that has died. I can't handle it anymore." She was rambling about what was wrong in her life and held onto him, as though she was scared to let go even though he wasn't her husband. She looked up at him. "I'm sorry..I shouldn't be like this." She soft spoke, as she looked into his eyes.

	"No, it's okay. You have every right to be feeling this way." He rubbed her back, smiled a little. He cupped her cheek, used his thumb to brush away her tears. He knew he shouldn't, but she was just so sad at that moment, he couldn't think of any other way to offer comfort. Tentatively, he kissed her. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	She kissed him back and pulled away, looking at him. She wasn't upset with him, just shocked. She also..liked it. "Sam, I...I don't know what to say, but..thanks..for being with me like this and the kiss...you're making me feel better..making me feel not so lonely anymore." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"I'm glad," he said softly. He reached over and tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear. He hoped he hadn't overstepped anything. Though he had kissed her. Why can nothing ever be black and white? (Reply to this) (Parent)
