WHO: Vicky and Miles
WHERE: The Golden Snitch (or leaving it, at least)
WHEN: Evening sometime
RATING: We'll see!
STATUS: Closed/incomplete

Vicky was finally off of her shift. As much as she loved her job, they did over work her a bit and it wasn't like she was able to actually play Quidditch. Sure, she loved the game and would have liked to play it professionally, but her job didn't allow her to do so, so instead, she just opted to walk around a pub with short shorts on and serve alcohol to other Quidditch fanatics. Sighing as she grabbed her bag off the hook, she tossed it over her shoulder and let her hair down, smiling at her manager as she slipped out of the back room. It was good to finally be able to go home.

Now she felt the need to rush. The sooner she got back to her flat, the sooner she could nap. She eased her way around a crowd at the bar, shouting at the current Quidditch game they were watching. As much as she wanted to join in like she normally did, she didn't have the energy. A nap. That's what she had the energy for. A nap. On her way out, she was rummaging through her bag for something and as she pushed the door open, she bumped into someone, though was way too into whatever she was looking for to care. Once she found it, she looked up and narrowed her eyes slightly. "Watch it," she muttered as she slipped past him, a leer still on her face. Normally she would have apologized profusely, but her sleep was much more important.

Yes, she was certainly on her way out. Having just got off work, the last place she really wanted to be was work some more. However, if she was getting a free drink out of this, she could just stay. Plus, the game was on and she wouldn't stay awake long enough back at her flat to watch it. Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea? So when she heard his offer, she stopped and turned back to him, slightly amused, though more curious. She hadn't bothered getting a look of his face at first, but now she saw he was at least attractive.

"I suppose a liquid apology could be in order," she said, taking a couple steps back towards him. "I just got off, thought I'd go home and rest up a bit before I have to be back here again tomorrow. Though, a drink may not be such a bad idea," she said, slipping past him and back into the Snitch.

Miles nodded towards her, his grin still on his face as he motioned his hand for her to go back inside. A beautiful lady as company never did hurt his ego, and it might take his mind of the Ministry of Magic’s bright idea to wed him to someone he’s never even met or want to, for that matter. It was a win-win situation for him. He followed her into the pub, nearing closer to her as his hand settled itself lightly onto her back, steering her into the direction of the bar. He pulled one of the barstools towards him, providing her with something to sit on before taking a seat himself.

“A firewhiskey, please,” he asked the barmaid that stood behind it, starting the night with something plain and simple. Out of the corner of his eyes he noticed the Quidditch game playing, hearing the cheers that erupted from one side of the pub. Even though he had come for the match, he would enjoy his drink with the miss aside him first. As he turned towards his companion, he wondered what her name was, but didn’t ask for it. “And what would the lady like?”

The barmaid gave Vicky a bit of a grin as she took a seat next to her new found friend and Vicky returned it. She settled on the stool and looked over at Miles with a slight smile. "I'll have the same," the barmaid nodded and gave Vicky another grin. So it was technically her manager, but they had their moments like this. Vicky never went in there unless she had to work and being there with a guy and after work was probably a surprise to most.

"Nice apology," she commended, looking over at him again. "Although I suppose I should apologize for being so rude. I was trying to get away from here as quick as I could. I love the place, but I spend too much time here on a weekly basis." Another small smile was given.

He did notice the exchange between the barmaid and his new ‘friend’, which confirmed his suspicion about her working there, and he smiled politely. “I’ve never been here,” amazingly enough, his teammate hadn’t mentioned the beautiful women that worked there. “But from now on, I definitely will,” he grinned into her direction, being obvious enough to his own opinion. He didn’t care whether he was flirting with a woman he had just met, the distraction was welcomed.

“Apology accepted,” Miles then told her, accepting the firewhiskey that was placed in front of him before taking a drink out of the bottle. Putting it back down, he turned his attention towards her. “I am distraught to hear you want to get away so fast, though. I was hoping you would accompany me a bit longer after this drink.”

"Never? I've worked here since I was eighteen. It's a pretty decent place. We have a lot of regulars and I know most of the Quidditch players that come through here. It's a girls wildest dream," she said teasingly, accepting her own firewhiskey. "Plus, I wouldn't mind having you as a regular." Yeah, that was her way of flirting back in some form that probably didn't work.

When she heard him say he was hoping she'd accompany him longer after the drink, Vicky thought for a moment and looked at him with a smirk. "I'm sure I could spare a little time for you this evening. I've got nothing better to do than drink and engage in frivolity." She took another drink and looked down at the bar that they sat at. She had no idea who he was or what he did for a living, but he was tolerable and she liked that. Maybe he'd be a regular after all. Just not at the bar.

“No,” he confirmed, “Heard about it from a mate of mine, said I should check it out. I don’t know why I didn’t do it before,” his gaze settled onto her face, appraisingly. He sure as hell wouldn’t mind that into his bed, wrapped around his limbs and underneath him. But before he got to that point, he would have to charm her. And that seemed to be working, she was biting the bait.

He still didn’t know her name, the back of his head chided, but that didn’t matter. It was kind of amusing like this, mysterious even. “I’m glad to hear that,” his voice smoothed out his words, and he took another drink from his bottle of firewhiskey. “I play Quidditch for a living, Falmouth Falcon’s, actually.” He wondered if she knew who he was, but seeing as they rarely showed the Keeper’s on the screen (they didn’t make the goals, after all) he wasn’t as known as, let’s say, Malfoy or Davies.

"Well, I expect to see you here at least once a week, now. If you don't come see me, I'll be hurt," she joked, taking another sip of her drink. Yes, all bait worked with Vicky. She was just a girl, after all. Naive, hard working, never really caring about anything. She had her own habits and perhaps meeting attractive men was one them. Perhaps.

"Ah," she chimed. The Falcons weren't exactly one of her favorite teams, so she didn't follow them the same way she did Puddlemere United or Chudley Cannons. However, now that she knew he played on the Falcons, maybe she'd watch out for him more often. "I used to play. Chaser, I was. I always found something more important than Quidditch, though now that I look back on it, I would much rather be a chaser for the Tornadoes than work here."

“I wouldn’t want that to happen,” he grinned at her words, chuckling slightly to himself. He barely knew her, didn’t even know her name. But here he was, much like many times before but with different women, flirting with her and she seemed to go along with it easily enough. Hell, it was like she was sitting before him with her legs spread wide open. He couldn’t say he didn’t appreciate the image.

He raised his eyebrow in slight fascination as she talked, listening intently to her as he was first of all interested in what she had to say; mainly because it was small talk about Quidditch, another reason was that his father had always told him to listen to a woman whether you were interested in the topic of conversation or not; it was polite and you had a higher percent chance of getting into someone’s bed. “Then why not take a chance? I heard they were holding auditions later on this month.”

"And why is that?" She questioned coyly, taking another sip of her drink. He was too charming for her to resist. Probably a player, a girl in every city he's ever played in, surely. Most Quidditch players were like that, she knew that much. But that wouldn't stop her from having her fun. Vicky never really cared to be another notch in the bed post, but that didn't bother her much if the bloke was attractive, and he definitely was.

When he mentioned tryouts later in the month, she perked her brows. She couldn't get too interested in that. Her job was fine and traveling meant she'd be away from her friends and family. But that also meant she could possibly be far away from that marriage thing. "Why don't we discuss that someplace else?" she suggested, pushing her hair behind her ear and smirking. "Less noise, perhaps."
