To whom it may concern,

My name is Merlin Galahad Stebbins. I'm twenty-four and currently managing White Witch Weddings in Diagon Alley. This occupation allows me to see all the brides to be and their grooms on a daily basis. While there are occasionally a few matched couples who take their marriage in a positive way, this is not always the case.

A marriage is a delicate thing. I've seen brides before who are getting married for their second, third, and fourth time. Their children is what concerns me, as they're growing up in a shattered and unhappy family, which can't be good for their self esteem to see their parents splitting up constantly. Have you thought of those children? What about the children who grow up in a family that's a sham. Children that were required to be made just so your plan for mixed bloods would come to fruition. I find it sick that these future children's mental health is thrown out and not even considered when you made these laws.

Not only are you forcing people to marry, you're forcing them to build families that will not build up their children for a bright future. These children will dread the day when they have to marry their match, which is not what marriage should be about. Marriage is about love and when you have no love in the family you have a broken family and when there is numerous broken families what hope do we have for our future?

In particular, I must mention my match. You have matched me with a girl named Orla Quirke. I don't even know the girl, and while she is nice, she isn't the girl I can plan a happy, flourishing family with. The girl I love is Natalie McDonald. She's being married off to a boy she hardly knows and she won't be happy either. She's my best friend and I know for a fact that if you had 'forced' me to marry her I'd have done it instantly. I'd have eagerly done so because I do love her that much. I would go to azkaban a million times over because I refuse to marry a girl I do not love.

I urge you to consider the future of the next generation of magical peoples. You must know you are only fueling immoral behavior among the masses, as many have already told me they won't stop their match from sleeping with their lover if they're allowed to sleep with their own. Is that what you want? Witches and wizards openly cheating on their husband and wives? I think not, I think this legislation must be reviewed.

Sincerely,

Merlin G. Stebbins

Mr. M.G Stebbins,

We would, under normal circumstances, like to thank you for taking the time to share with us your opinion on the matter. Unfortunately, your letter is simply supporting our decision to strictly enforce this legislation. For generations the Wizarding world has run as you state it should and nothing good has come of it. As you stated woman, mothers, end up married over and over again, which disrupts the family and hatred has built between not only the sexes but classes as well. Your examples do not justify your argument, but rather discredit it.

There is a hatred between those of Pureblood and those of Mixed blood that has brought our very world to it's knees and it is our opinion that respect for both parties should be taught and that is exactly what we will do. Any child born to the matches made by this legislation will have no reason to hate those of pure or mixed blood, for there will be no pure and they themselves will be mixed. Sooner or later, Pureblood supremacy will be nothing but a bad memory.

This legislation does not concern you as an individual. There is more at stake then simply your dislike for the situation. We have seen individuals who dislike this turn of events marry their chosen and discover a love for them they had not imagined. We are not concerned with just yourself, but rather society as a whole. Miss. McDonald will remain bound to her betrothed as you will be. Each pairing was made for a reason and will not be broken simply because you covet someone else's intended.

We do thank you for drawing our attention to individuals who intend to violate Decree 7086 and you can be sure we are currently working on measures to prevent such things from happening.

Sincerely,

Matilda Johnson
Head of the Committee on the Regulation of Wizarding Marriages
The Ministry Of Magic.

Miss Johnson,

This has NOTHING to do with pureblood supremacy. My point is that children will hate their own family, mixed or hot, when they realize that their parents don't even love each other! How do you expect children to be raised in a home without LOVE? Love is the strongest magic in our bloods and you are battling it head on. You will loose.

You can not force them to love each other and if you try there will be a rebellion among us. I refuse to marry Orla Quirke. Along with this letter I am sending a shrinked bag of 3000 galleons, to pay the fine for both me and Miss Quirke.

Mr. Stebbins

You are basing your opinion on what exactly? Do you have any children? You will quickly learn the strength of the bond between a parent and their child, whether you like it or not. The committee has ruled on this matter and your continued letters will not sway their opinion.

It is your decision whether or not you violate the terms of this legislation. Your fines will be processed and the momeny applied to them. You are not above the law. You are an equal among the remainder of wizarding society, myself included, and liable for your actions. As far as we are concerned this matter has been discussed and concluded.

Sincerely,

Matilda Johnson
Head of the Committee on the Regulation of Wizarding Marriages
The Ministry Of Magic.
