Who: Tracey Davis and Palmer Montague
When: Wednesday 9 pm
Where: Stone's Throw
What: Just going for a couple drinks
Rating: PG-13 for cursing
Status: Complete

True to her word, Tracey arrived at the Stone's Throw dressed in her best all black ensemble, deciding on a nice little spiked collar to go with it. Sometimes playing with her wardrobe was fun. Unfortunately, Tracey was the one to show up first and she was half tempted to claim a seat near the front just to annoy Palmer. Bossy git. It would serve him right for not saying please.

Yet somehow she still found herself sitting in the back. "Whiskey please." Tracey nursed her drink as she waited, giving a flirtatious smile towards a couple blokes near the bar. They were definitely not as attractive as the man currently occupying her mind, but they would do well enough. Some light flirting with Palmer would calm her down and keep her mind away from Daniel. Who was probably currently having dinner with Su. His wife. Shite. Tracey took another drink, letting the whiskey wash away her thought process.

He snorted, chuckling wryly. "Yeah, let's hope not. The last thing I want, or need, is her attentions." His thoughts turned to his lover and what he'd been though just that morning with her soon-to-be husband. It was going to be unpleasant. "Saiorse Fawcett. We've," he hesitated, finding the right words. "We've been together, on and off for a while." His eyes turned curiously to Tracey. "And you? Don't tell me your groom is who has you upset."

Taking the glass in hand, he leaned back and took a healthy drink.

"Upset?" Tracey straightened up, giving Palmer a little bit of a glare. "I am not upset. Annoyed, perhaps, would be a better word. So, I take it you and Fawcett have been at it. How are you dealing with the marriage fiasco?" She tried to turn the conversation back on him. If he was lucky maybe she would talk about Daniel. "I heard she was lucky enough to get Marcus. Why can't you boys share?"

"Fine, annoyed. It's all a matter of semantics. Look at the expression on your face and call it what you will." He leaned forward with daring. "And change the subject all you like, but we'll come back to you before the night's out."

A heavy sigh escaped him. "It's too soon to tell. My gut reaction is to leave for France, or Norway. Somewhere the administration's not gone barmy." Her question bothered him more than he was willing to admit and his charming smile only covered so much. "I'm sure it's great from the witch's point of view, two blokes, rutting after her, but I don't care to share. Especially not her."

"One Ministry goes down and the others are soon to follow. I doubt you'll be able to run for it. Though... What if you and Fawcett eloped?" Tracey was tracing the rim of her glass, trying to think. "Though really, I don't see the problem. Doesn't she know Marcus is great in bed? I really don't understand why you're being so close-minded about it."

Though she knew she was uncomfortable with Daniel and Su. "Nevermind. That was stupid. You obviously like the... girl" and she used that term loosely. She'd much prefer to slap Fawcett. "I suppose Marcus would never forgive you if you tried to lay claim to her."

"I think if we eloped the Ministry would be annulling it while we sit in Azkaban." He took a second to finish off the first glass, leaning forward to pour another. "Some things, Trace, are more important than just a great shag."

His eyes went to her curiously when she seemed ready to dismiss the subject. "You know what I'm talking about, yeah? Ever cared for a bloke outside of the physical?" He raised his brow, wondering if she would even answer that but went on without waiting. "Not after the spectacle this morning. He brought reporters to propose to her. How fucking mental is that?" How fucking brilliant was that?

"Shite. The Ministry has made one hell of a mess for you, Marcus, and Fawcett. So what do you think you'll do? You know Marcus. He's going to want her. Even if he had his own little toy he'd still want a taste of Fawcett." The stupid Irish whore. Tracey picked up her glass and took a large drink, finishing it off. It was best to ignore the whole caring about somebody outside of sex question. Still, she was frowning and fidgeting with the kerchief. Not that she wasn't listening.

"I have no idea at this point." He knew she was right about Marcus. There would be no getting around his ego and the last thing he wanted was to see Saiorse hurt in the process.

"More?" He held the bottle out for her, noticing how quickly she'd gone quiet. "Who is he? I'm guessing not the bloke you're suppose to marry."

"God yes." Tracey sighed, taking the bottle from him. She poured her glass about three-fourths before handing him back the bottle. "It doesn't matter. I should probably stop it before things get awkward." More awkward. "For Salazaar's sake he's a bloody Hufflepuff."

She took a drink and relaxed in the chair. "He cares about his wife too. That's what worse. Probably even loves her. Then he gets on some high horse about how he wants more than just a shag with me, how I deserve more. All I wanted was a bloody shag and he wants some kind of commitment." Great, now she was all worked up. To let a bit of steam off she directed a hex at the bartender, smirking a little when one of the beer taps turned on him.

"Hufflepuff? Such standards you have." A grin escaped quickly but he could hardly fault her where her desire landed when his own situation was just as precarious.

"He can't care about her too much if he's pawing at you. And he's right, whoever this mystery Puff is. You do deserve more. More than some wank that is already bound to someone else." Palmer chuckled at her venting. "When's the last time you had a decent shag. Maybe that's just the problem."

Tracey shot him a dirty glare when he teased about the Hufflepuff thing. If he kept it up she'd tell him what she really thought of Fawcett.

"In case you haven't noticed, Palmer, but all blokes are getting stuck with some twit. I'd even go for a muggle at this point, but the idiot keeps doing these... things. Like he's taking me on a mini-vacation to Brighton now. It's just... Sweet." Tracey pouted, leaning on the table. "Probably about a week now. Good lays are so hard to find these days. Most are actually being good fiances and shite now. It's not fair."

He reached over, patting her arm consolingly while he earned his glare.

"No need to be drastic, love." At the mention of Brighton, he barked a laugh, nearly falling out of his chair as he recalled his interaction with the bloke in the journals. "Holy fuck! I know him. Not really, but... so you're the witch he was talking about." He had enough sense to subtly scoot his chair just a fraction away from her in case Tracey's temper got the better of her. "You'd better be setting the terms or he'll be in love with you."

"Arse!" Tracey practically growled at him, glaring as she stood up. She was so tempted to hit him. Sooooo tempted. "You know him? What did he say? Oh god." She sat back down, trying to calm her nerves. "See, that right there is what I'm talking about. I'm getting attached and it's disgusting. Maybe I should just rape him or something on this vacation. I know he wants me. Or I could just call off the vacation and find somebody else."

She took another long drink. "We're pathetic."

It was nearly impossible to keep the smirk off his face as she stood, and ranted, and sat back down. Palmer's arm curled around the back of Tracey's chair, rubbing lightly at her shoulder.

"I can't tell you anyway. It would take away the mystery of him. Something must be drawing you to him. And I'm not so sure it's his sweet demeanor. Seduce him. It's not like it would be that hard for you." Palmer's eyes traveled briefly and appraisingly over her before taking the glass with his free hand. No, one bottle wasn't going to be enough.

"Yeah, true, that. We're definitely pathetic."

"See, now you're just stroking my ego." Well, it was working. A little bit at least. Tracey smiled and leaned her head against his arm. "Daniel is gorgeous. You should have seen him dancing." Taking her glass for another drink, she smirked. "You are absolutely right. I'll simply seduce him on this little vacation. It shouldn't be hard. You think I'm attractive, don't you?" She knew well enough she was attractive. She just felt like flirting.

Instinctively, he leaned over and kissed the top of her head. "Of course I do. I'm reminding myself to be a gentleman and it's a trying exercise." Palmer was teasing her, yes, but in such a manner that it was believable.

"You're full of shite. All you have on your mind I bet is an Irish tart." She smirked, rolling her eyes. Let him get offended if he wanted, but she never liked Fawcett. She was not going to even try now.

"So here we are, both being horribly depressing because of this forced marriage shite. Are you going through with it or shall we really be meeting in Azkaban? You know, even El has given in. It is very sad when even the supposed rebels are giving in."

"She never leaves my mind," he answered honestly. "But that doesn't mean I'm not truly enjoying your company." Palmer squeezed her shoulder once more and reached for the bottle.

"El too? How wrong is that? There's not much hope for us then. I can't predict the outcome for Johnson and I at this point." He shrugged, not wanting to think on it in depth. "We're going to the ball together. I'm guessing that will tell me more."

Tracey rolled her eyes and poured herself another drink. She felt a little bad Palmer had to keep reassuring her. Bloody hell, she really was pathetic at the moment. "Do you think Johnson is attractive?"

Taking another drink she leaned forward, resting her head on her arms.

That was a loaded question. Did he? Bloody fuck, don't think about that now. "I've never fancied those jock birds. Not enough curves if you ask me." His eyes strayed to Tracey's chest and he waited for her to notice before he winked.

"What about the chap you're supposed to be marrying? Where's he in all this mess?"

"Palmer love, either you're trying to cheer me up or you're flirting. Both are rather dangerous at this point." Still, she smiled and straightened up. She had to regain herself. "Apparently this," Tracey motioned towards herself. "Is not enough for him. He tried to tell me what to do, I threatened to murder him, and I have not heard from him since. Which is well enough." She leaned her head on his shoulder and looked up at him with a smirk. "Maybe he died."

He smirked. "I'm a dangerous man." His eyes followed her hand to this. "So he's a poofter then?" Palmer's expression clearly showed his confusion. "Maybe you should have married him before he died. Do you think that would have delayed our sentence?"

"Ha. I was so angry when I found out Daniel had gotten married I was about to marry Zabini. Yet he was missing. Don't know where he is and really don't care. As long as the Ministry does not catch on I'm a free woman. If it gets to the Azkaban part and he's still missing I'll just explain I can't do anything because my fiance has disappeared. See, it's easy."

At least it made sense to her. She folded up her kerchief and leaned over, purposefully putting the linen in the pocket on the side farthest from her. She just wanted an excuse to press herself against him. How childish.

"You can hardly be guilty if he's gone and disappeared. Though, be wary of being rematched. They could pair you with someone much worse."

Playfully, he nuzzled against her ear, inhaling Tracey's scent. His husky whisper was for her ears alone as he smiled against the shell. "You're a vixen, Ms Davis and you know it. You should find a more worthy opponent."

"I highly doubt there is anybody worse than Zabini. I never knew the prat could be so bossy. Though I suppose that was because he was always hiding in Malfoy's shadow."

Tracey wrapped an arm around his neck and pressed herself against his chest, mimicking whispered words against his ear. "I think you underestimate yourself. You're more than a worthy opponent." With the front of her teeth she softly nipped his earlobe. "You're good fun." For all her closeness she may as well be sitting on his lap.

"So maybe it's now he's trying to prove something." Any wizard with half a brain would think better of trying that with Tracey.

Palmer purred at the feel of her teeth on his flesh but called himself back. He did curl his arm back around her though, keeping her companionably close. "It would cease being fun when my thoughts were elsewhere and yours were on your Daniel. I'm not taking what he's earned."

Did he really have to ruin things? Tracey put on a fake pout as she let her hands move across his chest, the tips of her manicured nails tracing across his shirt. He did have a point, but it annoyed her. "He hasn't earned anything. Now really, you can't even put her out of your mind for one night? You know I could make it worth your while." She had to try. It was simply her nature. Her lips pressed to the skin of his neck, just above his pulse.

"You would make it worth my while. I'm well aware of that, but you don't want me." He smiled genuinely at her, nodding toward the blokes at the bar that had been watching them for the last few minutes.

Her lips were a distraction but he couldn't be swayed. "I'll leave you forlorn and you can have your pick of our audience."

"Awww, you're too good to me." Tracey smiled and made a ginger finger wave towards the men at the bar. She already knew which ones she wanted. Licking her lips she moved away from Palmer. "In that case, I'm leaving you to pick up the tab. For the suffering you've put me through tonight."

She winked playfully and stood up, stopping only to finish her drink. "You and you. Pay for your drinks and let's go." The two men she had pointed at were practically falling over each other to do as she commanded. Oh good, I haven't lost it. She stopped at the door and blew a kiss to Palmer, "Sweet dreams, love."

"My pleasure." His hand slid away from her hip as she stood, watching every move she made toward the chaps she'd chosen.

Everything about Tracey oozed sex and his arrogant smirk was more for himself that he'd been able to resist her charms. He winked and nodded in return, watching her collect her prey.
