Who: Anastasia Summers and Terry Boot
When: Friday, around 6
Where: Out to eat at a Thai restaurant
What: First Date/Meeting/etc.
Rating: PG
Status: Closed/In Progress

As six got closer and close, Anastasia became more nervous. It wasn't often she got nervous. At first, this whole thing had been no big deal. Just a harmless date for the fun of it. And then the next day she had found out she was supposed to marry the guy and spend the rest of her life with him. That upped the intensity level for just just a little bit. She had spent the morning working at her muggle job, and then the rest of the afternoon at her new store. She had decided to go with Something Creative as the name, and there was now a sign hanging outside the shop that let everyone know what the name of the soon-to-open store was.

At ten to six, she stood in her flat, finishing getting ready. The restaurant she had chosen wasn't anything fancy, just a fun, casual place, so dressing up wasn't really needed. Her outfit was bright, simple, and trnedy in her opinion. No point in no being herself. Her pink and black hair was it's naturally curly self and pulled up, pieces framing her face. The thought that Terry might have a problem with pink highlights, or a nose ring never crossed her mind.

At nearly six, she arrived at the restaurant, having apparated close to it, and walked the rest of the way. She glanced at the little silver watch on her wrist, before entering the restaurant, trying to calm her nerves. Entering the cool restaurant, she stopped at the door to look around, brown eyes scanning the room. Maybe he was already here, and if not, she'd just get them a table, then wait.

"Sure, but Owen Cauldwell, the bloke I work for, has already got Alicia Spinnet waiting to be a spokeswitch." Depressing, he couldn't get Oliver to even buy a broom let alone speak for it in advertisement! He smiled politely though when she went on about where the shop would be. "Close to my work, that's.. good. Oh, Spicy Eggplant. Thanks, mate."

He allowed the waiter to take up his menu before he answered the last of her questions. "I don't even know if I am going out. I might, might not. Depends. You're definitely coming with if I do." The weight in his pocket was increasing with every second and Terry had to keep checking to see if he could feel the small bulge there in his pocket. Soon enough, though, it got to be too much.

"Uhm. Ana...er, Anastasia. I know, like, this whole bloody thing is insane but, you know.." Later he wouldn't be able to get the moment out of his mind, it'd play in slow motion over and over again as people asked how he did it. For now it was moving fast, almost too fast because he couldn't recall how he got to his knee so quickly, or how he managed to do it without knocking into the table. But, there he was, on one knee and pulling a small ring box out of his and popping it open to expose the antique ring. "I meant it when I said I'd hope to get matched with someone like you. Will you marry me? I mean. I know you have to, but you know, thought I'd.. I'd ask."

"I know Owen." she said brightly, a smile on his face. "His little girl is the most adorable child on earth." she knew him from her house. He was a great guy, and probably a good boss to work for. She also knew the name Alicia Spinnet, and knew that she was also a big time Quidditch player. "Well there has to be other players out there than just the two of them, right?" if it was a good broom, one that could compete on the market, than he'd hopefully be able to find someone for it. "Just a few shops down, actually." she said, remembering how she noticed how close she was to Quality Quidditch Supplies today.

A grin was cracked, and she just shrugged her shoulders in surrender. "If you really want, I don't know how much of a party animal I am though." she liked parties, but not the kind you got completely smashed at. It was fun for a while, because you could get stories to tease people about after, but she didn't like when people got too smashed.

Most people didn't use her full name unless they were being very serious, or formal about something. It made her actually focus in one what he was saying, instead of just staring. While it was very fast for him, it was in slow motion for her, and she could hardly believe it was happening. Her eyes went wide when he went down on one knee, not really expecting it to happen. People around them had stopped talking, and were staring, not that she noticed. They were muggles, they didn't know about the forced marriages.

Her eyes slid to the box where the ring was sitting, and her jaw nearly dropped. That was a quite the rock, and a absolutely gorgeous one at that. Ana was a fan of older things, antiques, they had character, and class. Her eyes flicked back up to Terry, mouth opening, and then closing partway for a moment, as if not knowing what to say. She was willing to bet most of the girls in the forced marriage didn't get purposed to.

Finally she did smile, eyes looking back to the rings. "Yes." she said softly, not that she really had a choice. But the fact that he had been polite enough to actually ask, and try to make this normal? It was a major plus, and got him some huge bonus points.

It was all he could do to not keel over right then. It wasn't as if she could say no, but had she taken it badly anyways it would've broken his ego quite a bit. A shaky smile uncurled like a ribbon and he felt a wave relief wash over his entire being. She said yes! Well, she had to say yes. But still! She said it nicely! By now he was erupting with joy and the whole restaurant was erupting in applause.

He gently pulled the ring out of the box and reached for her left hand. With one smooth motion he pushed the charmed ring along her slender finger. The ring size changed the moment it came in contact with that finger, making sure it'd be a perfect fit no matter what changes her body went through. Then he stood and stooped down for just a moment, long enough to take from her a chaste kiss.

It was like electricity was being forced through his entire body, enough of it to actually cause him to jump back the moment the kiss was initiated. "Sorry!"

The applause had surprised her slightly, and Ana looked around the restaurant sheepishly. She had completely forgotten they were in a public place were people could see what was going on. Muggles probably thought that long-time boyfriend was purposing to long-time girlfriend. But she didn't care, because she was actually becoming excited about this. She probably couldn't have got a better match.

She looked down at the ring on her finger, and the charm on it was extremely handy. How often had she heard about her mother complaining about getting her ring sized? She was staring at the ring, a grin on her face. Ana wasn't really paying a whole lot attention to anything other than the symbol that now said she was engaged. So this kiss took her completely by surprise.

He wasn't the only one feeling electricity, and her eyes went wide at the shock that ran through her. The good kind of shock, the one that let you know it should happen. Ana blinked, and then looked up at Terry just as he apologized. First she smiled, and then she laughed lightly. "It's alright, Terry. I think people expect that to happen when people get engaged." plus she didn't mind it at all. She stood up from her chair, bringing her hand in front of her to look again. "It's beautiful, thank you." she added, while pulling herself into him for a hug.

"But it's not a show," said he. Terry's eyebrows could express just about any emotion flawlessly and now they were just plain confused. Or maybe somewhat concerned. Perhaps a bit frustrated? They furrowed to the point where a deep crease was made between the pair and all that anyone could muster from the look was that he was feeling something terribly significant. This was a wise observation on anyone's part.

"You don't think I'm just doing it so it seems real, do you?" He wasn't very keen on living life like a faker. He was always very honest, to the point where it hurt others with what he opted to do and say, or to the point where it scared others because he felt so deeply and strongly without having to process his feelings. He was a very black and white sort of man, so when he asked her it was because he meant it.

When he kissed her, he meant it. Sure it was because of Ministry it came to be at this moment, but he'd have surely opted for Azkaban if he didn't think Anastasia was absolute perfection. He knew she was it from the moment they started chatting within the journals! He couldn't deny such a connection, and his gut told him it was fate, not coincidence, that put them together.

"I wouldn't have asked if I didn't really care about it. About you. Is that mental?" Probably, but Terry never said he was sane.

She looked puzzled for a second, before shaking her head slightly. "That's not what I meant. I'm just saying I don't mind. I still wouldn't have made a fuss if we were alone." a slight blush probably rose to her face when she thought she really wouldn't mind if he did it again. Actually, she kind of hoped they would. Though maybe somewhere less public where people weren't watching.

It was her turn to frown, eyebrows knitting together, and head titling to the side ever so slightly. "Well, actually I was hoping it was because you cared. If I didn't like you, I don't think I would want it to seem real. But I want to wear this ring." she said, her face relaxing, wonder if he thought she was some kind of shallow girl who only wanted to put on a show. That wasn't the case, this wasn't a show. It was personal. "I really don't think I could have been any luckier when they put me with you, you know." some girls were ready to kill their match. Anastasia was actually very, very happy with hers.

"No, it's not." she said, most of the girls who got matched weren't getting purposed to, like it was supposed to be done, like most girls wanted it to be done. Didn't many girls want their dream wedding or and nice engagement? She was betting she was one of the few who actually got one. "I wouldn't have said yes if I didn't care about you." had it been someone else, he probably would have been putting on a show, and she would be angry then.
