Who: Harry and Daphne
When: Thursday Evening
Where:The House
What: Cause we're bored
Rating: TBA
Status: Closed / Complete

He'd had to do some major convincing on his part to get out of working on Tuesdays, which included agreeing to work security at Ministry functions for years to come. Not only were they dreadfully boring, but an absolute nightmare when it came to Auror work. Everyone was a member of the Ministry or made large donations and therefore expected to be treated like royalty. A nightmare. That's all he had to saw. He was almost tempted to take back the Tuesday shifts. Had he not had plans with Daphne for Tuesdays, he would have said 'hell with that' to the entire plan. As it were, he'd agreed. He now had Tuesdays free.

At the moment, he was neck deep in annoyingly complicated paperwork about a case they'd had the misfortune of handling. He hadn't even been present at the time and now he was suppose to be filing report after bloody report. He'd gotten about half way through the third report when he'd grew more then a little tired of reading the bloody things and pushed it off his lap and onto the floor. He'd pic it up later. For the moment, it could rot for all he cared. With a small groan, he stretched out on the couch, throwing an arm over his eyes with a sigh. There were days when he truly considered quitting and finding something else to do with his life.

Harry for his part hadn't exactly been aware that he'd walked straight into that. At least not until he suddenly found himself with two handfuls of Daphne, and even then it took him a moment of stunned silence to really piece together what was happening. She might have blushed but it had nothing on the flush that now stained Harry's skin. He swore even the roots of his hair were bright red. It probably wouldn't have been half as bad had she not added the extra squeeze in there.

"I suppose I walked right into that," he muttered, his eyes staying focused on his hands...which ultimately probably wasn't the best thing to do, but he reasoned it was better then looking up at Daphne and seeing the utter amusement he was sure was there. After a period of time he considered only made it that much more awkward, he removed his hands, his arms snaking beneath Daphne and all but hiding his face in the curve of her neck. Embarrassing. Horribly embarrassing.

"You know," he finally responded, the sound slightly muffled. "If you wanted me to do that you could have just said something."

Daphne really didn't want to laugh, or keep laughing, whichever. She didn't want to embarrass him all that much, but hell, she was his wife, it was bound to happen eventually. However, what was surprising was him not removing his hands immediately, or him not getting up and collapsing on the floor. The boy could defeat Voldemort, but he couldn't touch his wife? Well, Daphne was clearly more intimidating. That much was obvious.

As his arms went around her and he buried his face into her neck, she could feel the heat of his cheeks against her skin and frowned slightly. "Sorry, love," she whispered, her laughs and smiles gone as she wrapped her arms around him. At the time it was funny, but Daphne did tend to act before thinking sometimes, and that was one of those cases. Kissing his temple, she didn't think she needed to say anything to what he had said. He had the right to with her as he pleased. And even then, Daphne's mind wasn't wandering, but more worried about Harry's new psychological disorders caused by a psycho wife.

Harry wasn't upset with what had happened...well, perhaps a little but it was directed at himself and his inability not to blush like a bloody fool...or his ability to think far too much. He supposed that really wasn't something people would consider with him. He was smart...but he was also a Gryffindor, running head first into situations without thinking the thought through. Which of course only made this that much more strange. Had he known what Daphne was thinking he would have asked the same question. He could handle Voldemort, but couldn't handle Daphne?

In his defense, he had never found himself in the current of emotions that surrounded their relationship. There was something very different about this relationship then the ones in the past and it wasn't just the fact that they were married. There was something more to it. Perhaps he really was far closer to loving her then he actually thought and that thought was a little frightening...not because it was Daphne, but because he didn't know what to bloody do with it.

When she apologized, he frowned and pulled back a bit to look at her, his cheeks still carrying a hint of the blush. "Why are you sorry?" he asked, confused. "You're not the one who blushes like a bloody virgin every time he touches you."

Daphne fingers ran through his hair softly as they lay there, just as something to do while they stayed silent for a moment. Part of her wondered how much she freaked him out, or if she did at all. Well, she must have, his face was the color of a ruby. But it was simply just playing around, as she always liked picking on him. Had it been something more serious ... well, he would have known it. Plus, Daphne didn't care for that all that much anyway.

Instead of answering, Daphne smiled and kissed him softly, sitting up beneath him. "Wait for the food, I'm going to go get changed," she said, giving a bit of a shrug. She was only sorry for weirding him out like that, but she wasn't upset about it at all. "I'll bring drinks it on my way back." Because she'd probably need a strong one.

Harry nodded, letting her up. He knew she was only teasing him and he didn't mind that, in fact he enjoyed it. What he didn't enjoy was making an utter fool of himself ... which, given his track record, he should have been quite accustomed to. He could only image all the things she could possibly think at his reactions.

Once she was up and out of the living room, Harry flopped back onto the couch with a groan and pulled one of the couch cushions over his head. Perhaps he'd have better luck as a ghost. They couldn't blush ... granted they couldn't do a lot of things Harry wanted to do... Sometimes, he was just such a bloody prat.
