Who: Lisa and Andrew
What: First Meeting
Where: Lisa's flat
When: Monday afternoon
Rating: PG-13 Perhaps some cursing but not from Lisa
Status: Closed/In progress

Lisa was quite nervous about meeting him she wanted everything to be perfect for Andrew's visit. She had cleaned her flat all last night and a little bit in the morning. She smiled finally happy with her work. The flat was sparkling, not one thing out of place and she did most of it the muggle way because she needed the cleaning to preoccupy her rather then her worrying all night long.

She looked at the clock and with a start and realized that she needed to get the food ready and then get dressed. She decided it was best to get the food ready first and then get dressed. She put the kettle on to boil the water for the tea and then she went to make the sandwiches to be served with the tea. She realized all this might be a little much but she was worried about a good first impression.

When everything was finally done and put on the table she went to get dressed. It took her five or six outfits before she found the perfect one a simple black skirt with a fitted pink skirt. In her hair was a pink bow and too offset all the pink she put on a fairly simple black necklace. She then through on some pink lipstick and smiled in her full length mirror she thought she looked nice, better then usual at least. She looked at the watch on her wrist and saw that it was about time for him to be here. She took a few deep breaths and went to the living room. Waiting for him.

Andrew’s week was not going well. First he had caught a cold, making him miss out on a concert. Then he got an owl telling him that he was to be wed to someone he didn’t know. And then he accidently knocked his best friend into the hospital; yeah, you could say that this week wasn’t his favorite. He was now to meet his to-be wife, and even though he didn’t agree with the Ministry of Magic at all, he supposed he had to look nice. He was wearing a white, clean crisp shirt and his favorite pair of jeans, deciding to leave the hat that almost never left his head at home. After looking at the clock, he went on his way and apparated to the building he knew Lisa lived.

He looked back at the paper on which he’d scribbled her address on as he neared her front door, wondering why he had to have such a horrible handwriting; it looked like a messy scrawl. He just hoped he was at the right number, staring at the closed door for over a moment. Yes, he was nervous, he felt like hiding under his bed like some little kid, actually. But he had to do it, no matter how much he hated commitment, there was no other way. He didn’t want to get fined and he didn’t want his ass to be thrown into Azkaban, so he had to do it.

Knock, Andrew. Even though his mind was willing him, his body didn’t feel like cooperating, and he just kept looking on, unmoving. If she’d open the door now, she would probably think he was an idiot. At this thought, he frowned; he really hated the Ministry for doing this. While Lisa might be the loveliest girl on the world, he wasn’t going to fall in love with her just because they were pushed into marriage. He liked things to go natural, and this was not natural. It was with a sigh he straightened his back, false cheeriness printed onto his features. Making sure he looked decent, at least a little bit, he knocked a few times.

Lisa heard the door and felt like she was punched in the stomach. She was nervous about all this marriage business. She wanted him to like her if they were to forced into this, after all they will have to see each other quite a bit know. She sighed realizing that he was probably wondering what was taking so long. She went to the door and put on a friendly sort of smile on her face. She then slowly opened the door.

"Hello I'm Lisa, come in." she said in a oddly strained voice. She felt like she was choking on something rather large. Stop it she said to herself firmly. She would make this alright, she would make him fall in love and they would live happily ever after. That was what she was going to think anyway to save her sanity. She looked him up and down and thought he looked quite fit. Although Lisa wasn't one to judge people solely on looks it was nice that her husband to be looked nice, it made all this just a tad bit more bearable.

"Well would you like some tea then?" She said moving her eyes away from him hoping she wasn't staring at him to long leading him to believe she was touched in the head. She gestured to the small dining room she had. Her flat was actually quite big, her grandparents bought it for her as a present when she turned eighteen to celebrate her graduation, they thought she had graduated at a posh Boarding School but still it was the thought that counts.

“Hi, Lisa, I’m Andrew.” He acknowledged her politely, wondering how else to greet her; a firm handshake or a full frontal snog seeing as she was to be his wife and that’s what husbands were supposed to do, right? He settled for the first, extending his hand towards her to shake. She looked nice, pretty even, the sweet next door neighbor kind of type at first impression. She also looked relatively sane and not someone that wanted to stab him in the back with a knife just to escape this whole marriage thing. That was a huge plus.

“Tea would be nice, thank you,” he smiled at her, stepping into the apartment and taking a good look around. “Your home looks,” he thought of the right word to say, “homely,” he then settled for, realizing how idiotic that sounded. But that was Andrew for you, blunt and straight to the point. It was definitely bigger than the apartment he shared with Jack, but maybe that was because they were quite the slobs and clothes were scattered all around so it looked as though they had less space. He walked into the kitchen she had gestured with tentative strides, taking it all in and trying to imagine his life with this girl.

He got as far as trying to imagine the wedding before shaking his head clear. “This is weird, isn’t it?” He questioned, taking out a chair, turning it around and then sitting on it with his arms leaning over it. Andrew looked quite at home, he was never one to be shy. “I wonder what the Ministry was thinking,” Or even if they had been, at all.

Lisa gave Andrew the tea and motioned to some finger sandwiches she made for the occasion. "Help yourself." She said noting with satisfaction that he seemed to make himself at home and that was fine with her. She sat down and sipped at her own cup thoughtfully thinking about how everything would work out trying to imagine him being her husband but she couldn't seem to do it properly.

"It is a little weird." She agreed. Then she paused and sipped at her tea again before continuing. "I think they were doing it so they could for once make everyone get along and that was the only way they could conceive doing it." She took a deep breath. "Maybe it wasn't the best idea but they tried and maybe this is what is suppose to happen in all are lives because sometimes fate has a funny way of doing the opposite of what we want." She said finishing her mini speech. It was a little forward of her but she was going to marrying this person so she might as well tell him how she feels. She did hope he didn't think she was mad because of what she said. She smiled nervously trying to say Don't worry I'm not mad in it.

She then decided to ask him what she really needed to ask him about the wedding. Her parents and her had already had an uncomfortable talk and they agreed she had to follow the rules set fourth by the ministry and also agreed to pay for the wedding as was the tradition of the brides family. However she was really keen on having Andrews help. She decided to just go for it. "Would you like to help with the wedding planning? Then we can really get to know each other I think." she finished lamely. She realized of coarse she probably should have ask him about himself first but then again she should have already known before they were engaged. This was all going to be backwards she guessed.

He nodded appreciatively towards the tea and finger sandwiches that was laid out in front of him and smiled thankfully at her; Andrew hadn’t eaten this morning due to the fact he’d felt nervous and ill because of the whole meeting the fiancé thing, and his stomach was grumbling by now. While he was still rather nervous, he didn’t feel like throwing himself out of the window anymore, so he supposed that was quite alright.

Andrew listened to her with full attention, which wasn’t easy for him. He usually got side-tracked with everything and everyone, so it took him some concentration. He nodded a few times as he took the cup of tea and drank some of it. Naturally, he burnt his tongue like he always did, but aside from a wince he didn’t show this. “I guess,” he sounded a bit doubtfully, before his trade-mark grin crawled onto his features again, trying to see the bright side of it all. “But it’s a great way to meet new people!” Yeah, not like he actually needed it, seeing as he had rabies of fans trailing his every move, but there were little people that just liked him for who he was and not for the music he wrote and the fame he held. Maybe she could be one of them.

He bit down on his tongue a couple of times in a thoughtful gesture. Did he want to help with the wedding planning? Good question, he didn’t really knew the answer to that. While he wasn’t opposed to getting to know her more, the word wedding made him want to keelhaul himself. Andrew always had a bit of a fear of commitment, that was just who he was. But he didn’t feel like disappointing such a nice girl, and he also didn’t want to have a wedding without any of his influence. “Yeah,” he finally decided, bobbing his head for another nod. “I’d like to help. Is there anything we need to discuss?”

Lisa looked at him and smiled in a reassuring way. She saw that maybe he didn't seem to thrilled and despite herself she felt really bad for the guy. She was okay with everything or as okay as she could be. She knew that this wasn't going to change if she fretted about it. Still Lisa was always thinking about other people rather then herself and this guy seemed so uncomfortable and unsure. "I'm sorry about all this Love." She said in her soft voice. "I know this isn't either of are choices but I think it will be ok." She said hoping that it would be true, that it would be ok.

She thought for a second on what they needed to dicuss. She knew that there was a lot but she didn't have any clue where to start. She supposed that living arrangement should be dicussed and she would be the one to do it. It was slightly nerve racking for her because she had not had a roommate in quite awhile and never with a guy. Not only that but they would be married and she didn't know how that will work. She took a deep breath and plunged in. "What will be the living arrangements then? As you can see there is more then enough room." She looked at him not wanting to mention that there was even enough for childern because she didn't want him to be more uncomfortable. She went on "But if there is somewhere else you would like to go then just tell me. Honestly I do not care at all." She stopped waiting for a reply.
