Who: Seamus Finnigan and Luna Lovegood
When: Tuesday, June 11th - 6 pm
Where: Maria's Restaurant
What: A date?!
Rating: E for all!
Status: In Progress

The concept of a date was terrifying enough for Seamus, but a date with Luna Lovegood-no a date with his bloody FIANCE!- was what was driving him mad tonight. Maria's was actually a fancy kind of place, but he could afford it tonight. His mam had been so happy to hear he was getting married, whether forced to or not, she had given him an early wedding present. The woman was mad!

Seamus tightening the long blue tie around his throat, giving brief thought on whether to hang himself or not. No, there were no ties long enough. Rolling him eyes, Seamus muttered a sod this shite and took the tie off, pocketing it. If they gave him a hassle about it at the restaurant he would put it on then. Best to be a little early. After a stop in the kitchen, a nip of whiskey to calm the nerves, he headed out to Maria's. Blast it all, I have to be off my rocker.

Luckily enough the restaurant was more relaxed then his coworkers had led him to believe. Note to self: Murder Barry for making me nervous bout this place. Seamus settled himself down in one of the chairs near the terrace, taking his coat off and unbuttoning the top of his shirt to enjoy the summer breeze. Please don't let Luna be embarassing tonight. He prayed to whatever gods may listen to a indecisively suicidal Irishman.

That seemed to take her down a little bit. Oddly enough that did not really make Seamus any happier. They were both stuck in this together. She was a victim too. She just chose to make better of it.

Seamus smiled appreciatively at her. "Thank you, Luna. Really. I'll do my best to be a good husband in every other sense of the word though!" He meant it too. He may even love her as a friend if they were to get to know each other more.

"So what do you think about the wedding? We have less than a week to plan it, after all." Plus the damned Ministry hasn't contacted us about paying for it. Looks like it's all on us. Bastards. The waitress arrived with their drinks and Seamus had to stop himself from seeming too eager for his drink. He'd have to hit a pub later.

"And I will do my very best to be a good wife and friend to you." Luna returned his smile with a bright one of her own. Even if they wouldn't be husband and wife like she had imagined, she was still glad that the Ministry had picked him.

"Hmm, well I have a lot of gold from Daddy but I don't want to spend a lot on a wedding. I think anywhere is fine as long as its where the sun is." She nodded firmly, taking a quick sip of her tea. "The only family I have is my Daddy and my friends, that's the only people I want to be there." Her friends were the only people she trusted and cared for, it would be useless to have anyone else there.

"Obviously my mam and granmum will be at the wedding, but I think I'd like a couple of my friends there. Though... Are we all getting married on the same day? If so I guess only my family will work." Seamus had wanted Dean there. Maybe Lavender and Kristoff, but they were getting married also that day.

"So a small wedding under the sun. Maybe on a beach or in a small meadow? Isn't that what women dream of? No offense, but I've never thought about weddings and you only get one. Tell me what you want." He smiled, playing with the spoon from his cutlery and bringing it to his face. He never could stay serious for too long.

Luna couldn't help but giggle, bringing a hand to her mouth as he played with his spoon. Still smiling, she dropped her hand back down to run her finger over the condensation on the outside of her glass of tea, watching with apparent interest as droplets of water fell to the tabletop.

"Hmm, I hadn't really thought of that. If everyone is getting married on the same day, it would be quite difficult to attend them all. Who would be able to officiate so many weddings anyway?" She sighed, she had been rather looking forward to having all of her friends there.

"Well I suppose only our families need to be there then. And the two of us of course." She shifted in her seat, causing the bells in her hair to tinkle again, and leaned forward to grin at him. "Actually, a lot of girls dream of large churches and fluffy white dresses, oodles of gifts, the princess sort of feeling." She shrugged. "To me, a meadow sounds absolutely lovely."

Every time the bells in her hair hit each other he smiled, amused by it. Seamus seemed to be easily amused now that his panicking was done with. "So a nice meadow on a sunny day, well we can't really pick the weather on that day so we'll have to hope it's sunny. Or.... Would you mind getting married in Ireland? It's beautiful and practically guaranteed to be sunny!"

He had never really thought about it, but he found he did want to get married in his own country. Besides, he doubted there were a lot of people getting married there so it would be easier to find somebody to reside over it.

Taking his spoon off his eye, he flipped it with his fingers. "We're going to have the smallest wedding ever. Shame we won't really have.... Actually, I think not all of our friends will be getting married on the same day. All we have to do is invite the friends who have not been ordered to marry yet, or married of their own free will. I know I'd love Dean to be best man."

"I've never been to Ireland but if you says it's beautiful it sounds wonderful to me." Plus she had heard that there were still colonies of faeries living in Ireland. Luna rested her elbow on the table, chewing on her nail in thought. "Really though, the Ministry did not say we have to get married on that exact day. If were were to have the ceremony a little earlier, maybe a day or so, then all of our friends might be able to attend. I would really like Ginny to be my maid of honor too."

She wasn't sure how he would feel about the idea of moving the wedding date up, even if it was only a day, but it made the most sense to her. Besides, she doubted a day would mace much difference in the long run.

Getting married earlier than he had to? Seamus pouted a little, fidgeting with his silverware. It was going to happen whether he liked it or not so why not go with it?

"Well..." He bit his bottom lip as he thought, staring everywhere but at her. It did make sense. "Right. Okay. We can get married early. Ginny will be maid of honour and Dean can be best man. We can invite all of our friends this way. So when do you want to do the deed? We still need to get you a wedding dress and I sure as hell need a tux. Not to mention... Well my mam can cook an arsenal of treats for us, but we need a cake. Definitely need booze too. I'll find a local priest to marry us."
