Who: Samuel Bradley & Alicia Spinnet
What: Random meeting & drinks!
Where: Diagon Alley.
When: Today, June 24th.
Warnings: Alcohol! Also: Marriage woes & probably a few jokes about it.
Rating: PG-ish.

It had seemed like ages since Alicia had found herself in Diagon Alley. Normally she had only one stop while she was there-- Quality Quidditch Supplies. She was far and away well suited for the season (at least for now), and had no real reason for finding herself in the Alley. Only having one place to go made wandering around for a while seem almost like an exotic adventure. A good use of time since there was no practice today, much to Alicia's dismay.

Though rather than start wandering right away, she ducked into the Leaky. A drink never sounded so bad. She wove through the cluttered, crowded tables towards the bar. She was quite sure she was the cause of the silence and subsequent murmurs of a couple of the tables as she passed ("That's a chaser for the Prides, yeah?") but she hardly paid them any mind. She frequented sports bars far too much to let that bother her... or compliment her.

There were a few empty stools still, a short ways down from where the barkeep had momentarily stationed himself. She took up one of them, draping her shoulder bag over her knee as she leaned forward, resting her forearms against the questionably-clean wood to catch the man's attention. She felt a bit like a child, as small as she was sitting in front of him, but it didn't manage to wipe the smile from her lips, nor hinder the ordering of her drink. The man had barely managed to make it back with her glass before the two of them found themselves immersed in a rather avid conversation... about quidditch, of course.

Alicia offered the bartender an encouraging smile, hoping that would at least ease the annoyance on the man's expression. She pulled a leg up to her chest, folding herself against the bar as a few moments of silence had found her. As silent as the Leaky ever could be, at any rate. Her finger traced the rim of her glass, the beer within it not quite down to the halfway mark yet.

She rested her chin on her knee, drawing lines down her glass through the condensation. It only lasted for a few moments before her attention turned to the man that had taken a seat next to her.

"Hey!" She offered brightly, straightening up her posture a bit.

Samuel was startled out of his staring at the bar when a rather chipper Hey! seemed to be sent in his direction. He looked up at the woman next to him, briefly wondering if she was in fact talking to him. "Um. Hello."

"Sorry!" Alicia offered instantly, catching the rather startled reaction. It wasn't particularly hard to see. "I didn't scare you, did I?" A frown tugged at the corner of her lips a little. In her experience, scaring a person never made for good conversation.

"My name's Alicia," she offered, extending a hand to him.

"Sam," he said with a hesitant smile. He took the proffered hand and gave it a shake. "Nice to meet you. And no, you didn't scare me." He was just a little startled to be suddenly addressed, it didn't happen often. And most of the time he liked it, but this girl had impeccable timing. He needed a distraction.
