Hey. Listen, I've been doing a lot of research on laws, and I've realized that Robin was right, your dad could sue the hell out of me if I let you on the team without his permission. Which wouldn't be good, because what money I do have is pretty much all going towards this team. I'm, uh, really not sure how to go about this, but someone is going to have to ask his permission. I know it sucks, I know it's kind of unfair that you have to ask his permission before doing something good, but it's the only way this is going to work.

Mr. Stark, you don't really know me, but I sort of know of you. I wanted to talk to you about something I've been planning. I know there are already superheroes here, but there's not really a formal team of teenage heroes, so I thought it would be a good idea to form one. I'm not trying to make some kind of superteen social club, I genuinely want to make a difference in this world, make it safer for everyone. I want to be able to look back on my life ten years from now and say that I took my gifts and used them for the greater good. And I also want to show teenagers that they can stand up and make a difference, that their voices don't go unheard by virtue of their age. Too many teens these days think like that, and I want to give them superheroes to look up to that show them that yes, even they can stand up and make a difference.

To that end, I posted a message on this forum a little while ago, aimed at all the teenagers with powers out there. I gave them a rundown of what I was planning, and I got a few replies. Sophie was one of them. I know it's taken me a little while to get this thing off the ground, you know how life can be sometimes, but I'm very serious about this. And I'm at a point now where I can start to take some preliminary steps with this thing. So what I'm doing here is asking your permission for Sophie to be on this team.

I made sure Sophie was aware that she couldn't join without your permission. If you say no, there won't be any sneaking around behind your back. You're her father and if you say no, that's all there is to it. I'm not the kind of guy who would ignore that.

I'm aware that you two aren't on the best terms right now. That's none of my business and I'm not going to tell you what you should or shouldn't do. But I will say this: If you say no, please don't say no because you're having a disagreement with her. Say no because you don't think it's safe, or because you don't want that kind of life for her. Please don't say no to letting her try and make a better world as a punishment.

If you want to look at it this way, something like this will teach her about personal responsibility, and how to work well with a team. I think she has a lot to bring to the table, and I think it would teach her a lot about herself.

So. Do you think it could be worked out, Mr. Stark?
