Uh...I'm not really sure how to go about this. I was told that there were people here with experience with, uh, ghosts and monsters and cultists. I was wondering if I could talk to any of you? It...well, I'm not sure if it's urgent or not, or even important. But I think maybe it's better to be safe than sorry.

God, I sound like a nutjob...

Henry Townshend. Nice to meet you.

Not a whole lot. The cult was originally based in Silent Hill, but recently it seemed to just dry up. It was right around the time Harry Mason was murdered... Hm. As far as what could stop it, I destroyed his physical body, which I think is what you do for ghosts. It seemed to work. I moved out of the complex pretty much right away, but I haven't heard of anything weird going on since then. I do know that he'd need to perform a ritual called the Ritual of Holy Liberation on the place he plans to use first, though. I don't know what it entails. Then there's the big one, the 21 Sacraments for Descent of the Holy Mother. It requires 21 people to be sacrificed, and each of them has some role to fill. My neighbor was supposed to be number 20, "The Mother Reborn" and I was supposed to be 21, "The Receiver of Wisdom".

Vampires? I think I'd have rather faced them than some of the things I saw in Walter's nightmare worlds... That's his name, Walter Sullivan.

You too.

I'll see what I can dig up, but with most of the info probably where you came from, don't know how much I'll find. Maybe this god thing will have more info. Either way, we'll look into it. And yeah, salt and burn the body's the way to go with ghosts.

Vampires are pretty nasty, but yeah. Cults are worse, I think. People are way more fucked up than half the shit I've seen, which is really depressing when you think about it.

Gotcha. I'll remember that if I run into any more of them.

I can definitely agree with you there. I'm pretty laid back as a rule, but brainwashing people is kind of up there on my list of things you never do, ever. I'm not really religious, but I always considered a person's mind to be kind of sacred. "Do not mess with this" territory.

If you run into any more of 'em, give me a call at [number]. I'll help, no matter what time of day.

Yeah, your mind is sort of the last totally 100% free thing in the world, isn't it? I mean, if I can't think about Jenna Jameson from 1998, then what good is the world?

Will do, thanks. I'll keep an eye out for Walter, too.

Hah, that's a very good point. Plus I hear brainwashing techniques kind of suck.

Like I said, me and Sam'll get on some research ASAP.

Yeah, and I'm stubborn, so they'd probably have to beat me or something too. I hate when that happens.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I don't want to be too much trouble, though.

I, uh...don't think that would be a problem for them. From what I saw of the orphanage they ran when it showed up in one of Walter's worlds, it was pretty bad. And the research I did on it later confirmed Walter's version of it, so I don't think it was too warped. It...looked like a really bad prison. And they raised children in those cells.

Trust me, if it's me spending some time in a library versus crazy cult demon things? I can hang out in a library.

... okay, really really going to go do that research now.

Yeah, the library sounds like the better of the choices there. It's one of those "cake or death" choices, I think. The library being the cake.

I don't know if any of the cult members will pop up here. I'm hoping not, pretty much for those exact reasons.

The library sounds like one of those cakes that has a chick in 'em.

If they do, I'll fix it. No worries. Or we can tell someone about it and have them fix it. Either way. It'll get taken care of. We're not gonna go to Nightmare Land on my watch. Fuck, I feel like I should get you a gallon of beer.

The best kind of cake.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. I'm certainly not going to turn down the beer, but only if I get to pay for the snacks. Seems only fair.

There should really be a group for people that have gone through the stuff we've gone through. Might even be able to get group discounts on food and drinks, depending on where the group met up.

Hell yes.

No worries, and that sounds fair. Heh, I'm not so much about the therapy, but I'm all about the beer.

Birthday cakes should be that kind of cake. It would make the lame singing tolerable.

That was pretty much my thinking, too.
