I did not make a wrong turn. I am incapable of making a wrong turn.

Beautiful sunny day. Top down. Highway cruising speeds, and everything was normal - well, as normal as everything ever gets. The break was ending too soon, and we both knew it was time to return to the Mansion.

I took the correct exit. I always know where I'm going. Take the exit ramp, make a right onto the boulevard, a few miles and some cross streets. That was how we were supposed to be going. How I'd always gone.

It wasn't until we were nearly to the end of the ramp that I realized something was amiss.

No, that's not right. I didn't realize anything was amiss until it was far too late to do anything about it. A strange, powerful, extremely localized weather distortion that didn't even register on my scanners until we were already inside of it, and then the boulevard - and California - were gone.

Just.

Gone.

I don't know where I am.

I don't know how to admit that I'm lost.

The same ways as you, more or less.

I see. Are you here alone, or is there anyone else here from Oz as well?

I'm sorry. You've made friends though, I hope?

Of course.

Many people here are very nice.

I'm glad to hear that, at least.

Including yourself.

Thank you.

If you are ever in Utah, you should come and see me.

Thank you, for coming to hold my hand, so to speak. It's very much appreciated.

I will be sure to do so, whenever I am able. I suppose it's good to know that places seem the same, at least.

You are welcome.

And good! It's getting lonely out here with only Jamie and I.

Who is Jamie? Are you in the desert?

Jamie is my boyfriend.

And no, we are on a mountain with sheep.

I'm glad you're not alone on that mountain. So... you're shepherds, then? I've never met any shepherds before.

Oh, no. We are ... ranchers? I suppose. Kind of like shepherds.

Ah, I see. I must say I like the idea of living on a mountain with sheep. If I were suited for that sort of thing. It sounds peaceful.

It sounds like it.

I'd like to, very much. Thank you for the invitation. As soon as I'm able, I'd love to take you up on that.

I hope so too. Thank you.

How long have you been here? Did it take long for you?

I have been here for a rather long time.

It isn't so bad, though. It took me a few weeks.

I suppose that makes sense, if you've had time to find someone and settle down a bit.

That's somewhat reassuring. I'll keep that in mind, thank you.
