Anyone know a good place for coffee?

I don't know. I've not run into vampires or demons yet in the coffee shop but with this place...you never know.

[ "I'm not gay!" They said, flailing a bit... ]

Well, that's a step up from 'ARE YOU INSANE! There's no such things as [insert supernatural creature of choice here]!'

Which, I also get a lot.

[This Harry is very much *not* gay. He's slightly less canon than before, but he's straight. XD]

I'm not surprised. Wizards aren't exactly...normal in my world.

They're not normal in most people's world.

Though, if they do exist in yours, it's unlikely you would've seen them.

Yeah, probably. It was for the best, too I think. I'd rather not know.

A lot of people have that attitude - what they don't know won't hurt them.

Unfortunately, that isn't always true.

Oh, I'm sure it could still hurt me. I'd still rather be in the dark. Better than...worrying about that sort of stuff 24/7. With 5 kids, it's hard enough working the job I work with all the pervs and murderers. One of my kids could be the next victim.

So the less I know about, the less worry. I like to at least pretend my kids have a chance.

They have a chance. Just like everyone else.

Most of the nasties of the night don't bother humans much -unless provoked. In modern times? Draws too much attention. They like to lay low.

That's good to know. So there are really vampires and...monsters around then?

Maybe kids aren't being silly when they claim there is a monster outside their window.

Yeah, there really are.

Do me a favor though, man. You come across something weird like that, call me or someone like me in on it. Someone who knows how to handle these things. Okay?

Yeah, alright. I'll put you on speed dial.

Yeah, Murphy did the same thing. Since she was the only one willing to take a stab in the dark at some of this stuff. I think that troll on the bridge helped get her over the hump.

But yeah - good plan.

There was a troll on a bridge? How...cliche'.

[info]wizard_dresden

It's even more cliché, because the troll lived under the bridge and stole a baby.

Oh no. Was...the child okay?

Yeah. Murphy and I got her back.

That's good.

Think there is a troll under the Brooklyn Bridge? Or do they stick to the old stone and wooden bridges over little creeks?

No idea.

Haven't been over to the Brooklyn Bridge.

And if there's a troll under it, I don't want to know about it unless I have to. Those little buggers are mean.

Do they carry around clubs?

They don't need 'em. Their teeth and claws are enough weaponry.

Wow. So, what other creatures live up to their myths?

Vampires. Well, depending on which kind you come across.

Really? Crazy. But they don't prey on humans?

Oh, no, they do. They're just a lot more subtle about it than they used to be. The advent of technology and highly trained law officials makes 'random dead bodies' a bad thing.
