What kind of thing.

Immediately defensive! Oh, I like you.

Jack and Donna are having problems, which we all know about. Trick is not being awkward and only inviting one of them to things. In short, this is human nonsense and I'm terrible at it.

So you want the girls to go fix it for you.

You know, I am horrible at this kind of thing. I thought Rory was gay for ages before I realized he liked me, and that's why he didn't flirt with other girls. And by realize I mean, he had to flat out tell me and I argued, that no, he couldn't like me, because he was gay. So, me, bad at these things.

It's not the girls, it's the humans. Honestly, some people.

Although, to be fair, we always wind up around girls. I only forgot Rory because I always assume he's reading over your shoulder.

Well, Rory feels left out. You should include him.

Yes!

But, really, I'm horrible at relationships. I would probably only muck it up more by getting involved.

Just make sure when you have your baby... things that you invite them both, all right?

Oh, that, of course! Though, you know, baby showers are usually just a girl thing. Seems like it always was a weird tradition. No reason I can't invite whoever I want.

And really, any other baby things are pretty far off. Hopefully they'll get over throwing things at each other by then.

Or they'll work it into the relationship and live happily ever after.

I just don't want either one feeling alone. Enough of that for the lot of us already.

You know, they are very lucky to have you looking out for them. We won't leave them alone. Don't worry.

Doubt they see it that way, but mind you that you find yourself in their company now. Would have liked to travel with the Ponds, I bet.

It's bloody awful and ridiculous and human, which is why we need your help.

Granted, you only half count, but still.

It is, and you're right. I'm not sure what I can do that doesn't involve a lot of lying and cheating and things they won't like though.

Well, I wouldn't like it much either, but I want to help them. I owe it to them. Or rather, the older me (but not your me) owes it to them, and I can't figure out how to fix it.

At the very least, we can't exclude one or the other, right? Humans get so snippy about that.

Can they be helped? I don't mean any disrespect, but you have to wonder. I mean they'll get over it eventually. I don't know if they'll be friends but I'm still not quite sure I understand what's going on at all.

I only met Donna once, and she was.. lost. In the library. And why are you doing this and not him? He's here, isn't he?

It might be best, if you don't want them to fight.

Oh, none taken. And I don't know. Had a talk with Jack, and honestly both of them are dear to me. I just don't want either one excluded.

Plus he fancies her, and I'm an old romantic heart, deep down. You know that.

He's not here. Just the mess he left us to clean up.

Well then I think the only way that you're going to get them both in the same place at the same time is to trick them. And you'll have to be quite clever about Donna because she'll see right through it if you just invite her over for tea.

I do and I have no doubt that Jack can apologize until he's blue in the face. And he can tell her how he feels, but I don't know about her.

Of course.

It'd be such an elegant solution, you know? So tempting. But no, it's going to be talking. They'll get around to it eventually, but in the meantime they've both been far too lonely for too long.

Does things to you.

It would be so much easier. Right, well good luck with that. They both seem way too stubborn.

I know.

See, this is what we've got to be careful about. Not gonna blame anyone, just try to let them sort it out.

Or knock them one on the head and lock them in a room to speed the process. We're calling that 'Plan B'.
