So, um.

Is it just me or does the Universe love playing huge, stupid tricks on people? One minute I'm working on a back piece and the next I'm signing autographs.

I mean, I know I look like one, but what the christ is going on?
Hello, My name is Artan Stillman and I'm apparently a rock star.

A little help would be... helpful.

I'm a mechanic, until this morning I was a car. Friend of mine sent me this [link] might help explain things.

And hi, I'm Che.

You were a car? Hang on, lemmie read this shit.

Okay, well after reading that I'm even more confused. I should be used to this sort of thing but I'm not. Hey, at least you have a job that suits you? Who better to fix cars than a car?

Nice to meet you, I guess?

I sure was, '67 Chevy Impala. Kinda thought the job thing made sense too.

And are you telling me you never wanted to be a rockstar? Thought every kid wanted to be a rockstar at least for a couple weeks or something.

Granted, I don't have a lot of reference for that though.

Oh, a nice car, too. I always wanted one of those. Had a nice VW minibus, though. I lived in it.

Well, I had that phase but then I realized I couldn't sing and my musical skills are minimal to nada. I fail at it. But apparently, that doesn't seem to matter, considering who I ended up being.

I like to think so, classic lines, you know?

Hate to say it but I don't recognize the face. And my music knowledge is pretty limited.

Well, no, not true, I know a lot of stuff, it's just I'm used to hearing it, not seeing who's playing, and a lot of what I know is older-ish.

You're down with the oldschool beats.
I can totally appreciate that, I'm big into Zep and the Stones and stuff, not this gothy-industrial shit that I apparently have been spewing out for a couple decades, according to this reality.

Ever heard of Nine Inch Nails, sweetheart? Yeah, I wouldn't look into it if you respect your ears.

Doesn't ring any bells, but I might've heard some and forgot.

But ooh, Zep, Stones, now you're speaking my language. AC/DC's Back in Black is my own personal theme song.

That's one of the best albums ever put out.

Whoever drove you gets like, forty brownie points just for that. And that sounds fifty flavors of wrong. Drive you.

Heh.

Heh, does sound a little wrong even if it is true. He, uh, doesn't know about the whole 'oh hi, I've got tits now' thing yet.

Just about gave his baby brother a heart attack when he found out, can't imagine how Dean's going to take it.

If he's anything like me, offer him a cheeseburger and a hug.

The hug's for boob-therapy. The cheeseburger's for... well, because cheeseburgers fucking rock, really.

That's actually a great idea. Pie might work better though. Wonder where I can get some. Huh. Ah well, don't have to worry about it right now.

Seriously though, get used to it, apparently we're in for the long haul.

Super. This is some Being John Malkovich shit right here. Well, if I ever need a tune up, I'll know who to ask.

And if you're ever in London when you need it. Don't know if we're the only game in town, but we have to be close, specialize in American and European autos.

Right on. I'm actually in London. Promoting, I think. Hell if I know, it's only been a few hours since I found myself sitting there, signing a rather awesome rack.

Well score. The shop's at [address] but I'm not there right now, and you know, it's after business hours anyway.

That's two of us been surprised by tits today then.

You've got more reason to be, usually you have headlights, but not of the fleshy, squishable kind.

Not saying the ones I've got now are class-a seal-beams or anything, but they aren't bad. I like them anyway.

As well you should.

All I got is a house and recording contract. You win the 'got more awesome shit from the weird shift vortex thing' game.

[info]lady_metallicar

Oh yeah, because that recording contract doesn't come with a bunch of platinum albums and a fuckton of adoring fans and like, millions of dollars.

Though, if you look at it that way, tits are better than that. Heh, I do win.

Ugh, I have fans. For music.

This somehow is managing not to register as a good thing. In fact, I kind of thought that my singing would kill people if it was let out of the shower.

Please hold. Laughing jag.

Right, back now, I suppose you get to find out, right? And y'know, if it doesn't work out, and you finally run out of money, you can always come work for me.
