I just got my license back home, and now I live in New York. Where nobody drives. Super.

... are there any other teenagers around, or am I the only one? (I know there's other teenagers in the world, but I meant the displaced kind.)

Hey, I'm a teenager here. Tony Stonem. Originally from Bristol, going to school in London again soon, though with the portkeys.. I can go anywhere in the world.

Oh, good, I'm not the only one. I'm Emily Lightman. I'm from DC, and the portkeys are nice and all, but I worked really hard to get my license, you know?

Nice to meet you. DC, that's a big city. Yeah.. I'd hate that too, when I work hard for something, I much prefer it to pay off than to have it be a waste. But maybe if you want.. like Sam down there said, you could try Taunton school. There's a lot of us displaced teens going there again shortly.

Nice to meet you too. It is, but New York's bigger, and there's no point in me driving anywhere anyway, even without the portkeys.

I think that's where my dad enrolled me anyway, so that works out.

Hey, I could get Ollie to let you go for a drive with him, and then you'd never want to get in a car again. Problem solved.

I don't know, that's what my dad said after he drove with me.

I'm all about danger and adventure, but crazy man driving through portkeys? Vomit-tastic.

I'm Mia, by the way. Your dad's kind of a jackass, but you don't seem too bad.

Ew, I can barely walk through them.

Oh! You're Eli's girlfriend, right? Yeah, Dad's got a gift for rubbing people the wrong way, sorry.

It was one of those 'desperate times call for nauseating measures', but yeah. I've pretty much sworn off cars, I think.

Yeah. It's fine, though. Ollie's not always the most charming guy, either.

I probably would too, after I finished hurling.

Still, you'd think he'd ease up since Eli likes you.

Eh, maybe he will. Haven't talked to him since the shindig.

If he still gives you trouble, let me know. I'll yell at him. Are you going to work for him? I'll see you a lot if you do.

I don't know yet.. I still have to think about it. I've got school starting soon and stuff.. I'm pretty busy.

He could take you on part time, or whatever. I'll talk to him for you.

If he didn't, you should transfer there. Especially if you have powers or something. They've got trained teachers, and plus everybody fits in better, you know?

I'm a new junior. So, whatever that is in British years.

They kinda use American years, too. So you'll be a Junior/6th form, or whatever. We've kinda Americanized the school. I'm a senior. Which is weird, because I should be a junior, but.. It's really complicated.
