Rachel
I haven't heard from you in some time. Is everything all right?

Private
Some days I feel like a failure on so many levels it takes my breath away.

Idle hands.

Feeling satanic, are we?

I should ask Lucifer sometime if it was sheer boredom that brought the Fall on.

Don't you work at a detective agency? Go amuse yourself and detect.

Yes. That's certainly not what I have been doing lately, and has me fully engaged and therefore this post would lack meaning.

I enjoy the work. It's just not enough.

I suspect you've caught that sharp wit off of Jamie Madrox.

A hobby? A man? Have you gone shopping lately?

Neither, actually. And what's the point of shopping anyway? It's not like I go anywhere.

I've gotten -old-.

You say that as though you haven't been old for years.

You'll watch what you say, darling. I won't abide being called old.

Honestly, what else do you expect me to tell you? Oh yes, you poor sad dear. Your life is over, you might as well give everything up and put yourself in a home. If you're looking for pity, you're talking to the wrong person.

And I will?

Was I looking for pity anyway? I'm looking for suggestions that don't involve putting a strain on my credit rating. I know this isn't the right quarter for pity.

Find a man. Or, if you cannot stomach that, buy a puppy.

Men seem to be in short supply.

Puppies are not.

Men aren't usually worth the headache. Stick with a pet. You can flush it or bury it if it grows too irritating.

Idle hands are never easy to deal with, Miss Grey.

I know that problem exactly.

Thanks. I am sure most would disagree with you, but thank you.

How are you? I am sitting on idle hands in Europe right now, trying to, ah, keep irritation at bay. Don;t need a visit from my old friend any time soon.

Tell me about it. I've been lucky; Phoenix seems to be taking an extended snooze since Gambit's little bit of 'fun'.

Has it been worse lately?

I'm glad to hear that.

No, he came to visit during Apocalypse's romp around, but has not been back since. I've been mostly staying alone in an old monastery ever since, peering on the web from time to time.

It is nice to see a friendly face, though.

Sometimes... but people, most of them, tend to sooner or later start a fight, or something else happens. Better I be alone and no one else gets hurt.

Maybe not.

What can I do? Risk the world and people's lives?

I can't kill the Hulk, or myself, or cure him, not so far, so...

I don't know, Jean. I am tired of being alone, but better that than people getting hurt.
