I apologise for my absence this past week; I was recovering from a fever. I am still not totally well, but well enough to inform you that I've managed to find the keepsake I spoke to you about. Is there any further preparation necessary for the ritual we were discussing?

I sincerely hope I've not been too much trouble. I know you are a physician, and trained to manage the ill, but if the ... ferocity of my dreams in any way equalled the course of fighting the poison and the fever, I'm quite sorry.

I don't feel poorly, but neither am I the proverbial picture of health at the moment. Still, it is a vast improvement, and I have no doubt I owe you extreme gratitude.

I have no craving whatsoever. Let us see how long that will last.

Ugh. What a week. At least, for once, the pain was ~~mostly~~ physical.
