...I just got a call from an agent. I don't know what's going on.

I must've replaced a singer or actress of some sort. This is nothing like the convent.

No, it most assuredly is not. Not unless you meant that in a Shakespearean sense.

There's a Shakespearean sense? Sorry, I'm not very cultured...

Well, Shakespeare said "nunnery," if you insist upon being a purist. Common interpretation has it that what he really meant was "whorehouse," a far more apt description of this world's proclivities regardless of the fact that there are no shortage of gods here.

Oh my. We weren't anything like that... the closest we would've gotten would have been when Deloris was 'jazzing up' our choir.

By the heavens, you're a real nun, aren't you?

Yes. I've always been one.

Fascinating creature! So strange, so rare... I suppose you want an explanation. So do I, but I'm afraid you'll have to be content with this [link] in all its glittering glory.

Nuns are rare? I think my sisters would be faintly disappointed.

...And that website is blinding. And very sparkly.

I don't spend much time around their native habitats, you must understand. I did try once, as an act of diplomacy on behalf of Dublin's estranged artists, to attend Mass in my Sunday best. Sadly, it seems Paradise is not interested in those whose Sunday best is not gender-appropriate.

Acting then upon the assumption that those who claim God is everywhere do mean everywhere, I invited my brothers and sisters to attend a session of Divinity Hide-and-go-Seek in a field outside the city.

One does not see many nuns in fields. A curious happenstance, but then, there are many things one does not see often in fields.

The gentleman who evicted us from his land with the help of the police declared with great vehemence that he had never seen anything like it, never in his life!

I do my best to encourage biodiversity.

That's... quite interesting. We probably would've welcomed you, if only because we got quite radically reformed by a lounge singer.

She was a nun at the time. In a way.

Although, we've never been in fields. Maybe nuns should be in fields, just to startle people.

Can you imagine a more delightful game? Imagine some country gentleman taking an evening stroll, listening to the curlews and the dogs, with the wind in the grass and clouds doing ballet in the sky, when suddenly, as he steps over the next knoll, a visage of stark black and white bounds up from a foxhole with a resounding cry -- "AMEN!" she crows!

"BY CHRIST!" he replies in an ironic juxtaposition of the usual call-and-respond just prior to dropping dead of a heart attack.

I would pay to watch that game. If I had money. And wasn't cheap.

That sounds incredible. Sister Mary Laz would definitely do that... she always had a thing for scaring unsuspecting passerby.

Were I a nun, I should hie myself to the nearest field forthwith.

However, I am not a nun. I am Riordan Byrne. And what fascinating company you must keep, Sister.

That's me off to hide in a field for a while then.

My convent were a special lot. I'm Sister Mary Robert, and it's a pleasure to meet you.
