For someone that feels so strongly about this issue, Dan, you certainly agreed to keep it a secret quite readily. If I'm a monster, you are only slightly less so.

Of course, there is also this terribly incorrect image you have of me. You seem to think I liked doing what I did. I did not. As I told Jon, and would have told you if you hadn't been so quick to run off, I made myself feel every death. I have had nightmares... No. My nightmares are irrelevant.

I did what I did. I did not like it, I do not consider it a "good deed". However, Daniel, the Doomsday Clock was set to midnight and all life as we know it would have been annihilated had I not forced people to save themselves. Jon certainly wouldn't have done it, and the rest of us could make absolutely no quantifiable difference to the world. So I did what I had to do.

Here...things are different. Many things. It is a brighter world, Dan.
