So. I forgot what it's like, not having your day planned out for you.

Anyone looking for a hired hand? I need something to occupy myself, before I go crazy. Crazier.

[ETA] Anyone have a handle on dreams? Or the interpretation of them? I'll settle for a street psychic at this point.

Up until recently, doing what I'm told and not asking questions about it. I was supposed to get work at an auto shop, but that fell through, and my last job was... well, I lost it.

Basically, I'm good at whatever you need me to be good at.

Ever served cocktails in a man-kini?

I didn't know what that was, until an internet search ago.

So, no. But I can mix drinks.

Well, I don't think we have a bartender yet, but I'm sure that's on Kiki's list of things to do.

I think right now, you can just be a server, without the mankini, I guess. But before the party, you can totally be my house boy!

I think I've just been signed on as a mover, but if you need me for some party... why not. I could use one.

That's too bad. I'm quite sure you'd have more fun as my house boy.

So you said.

What does 'house boy' entail, exactly?

How are you with giving change? And more importantly, are you any good at moving furniture and knickknacks?

Moving as in taking them from one side of the shop to the other.

Up until finding myself in this place, I was at the beck-and-call of a man who traveled internationally, and expected me to keep his schedule, no matter where he was in relation to me at the time. I'll be fine.

Shadow, by the way.

I keep a shop, see, in London, things tend to show up in the back room and need to be priced and shelved, and you never know exactly when a customer will show up

Oh are you?

If what you've already got falls through, talk to me. Mordhaus can always use another Klokateer.

And my master's son's boyfriend is having weird dreams too. You should talk to him.

And what does being a Klokateer involve?

I'll look into that. Those sorts of things aren't coincidences, apparently.

Brutality, carnage, taking Dethklok's orders without question, roadie work, guard work, house work. At least 50% of our recruits die, as we require new meat to fight to the death before they're considered worthy.

Honestly it's a rather fatal occupation. Though not so much now in this universe.

I don't even think coincidences exist here.

Alright.

[Miss]
You can call me Shadow, by the way, if it... matters.

I've been having strange dreams lately. Supposedly, where I was from, the man I was working for, and his associates could all sense it. They're always about Native American imagery. Things I feel like I know, at the time, that I can't place when I wake up.

Relatedly, the days before I got here... I died. and I feel as though something important happened, between my death and getting here. But it's like the dreams, I don't remember it.

In case you didn't need that, and were just going to... look, or something, I'm sorry. I have'thad much of anyone to talk to for weeks.

I'm Jean Grey. Your case sounds fascinating, and I would like to hear more about your perspective of it before diving in. The more comfortable with me you are, the less your mind will rebel against me. I'd rather not damage you while I'm trying to help you.

Alright. It all started after I got out of prison. My wife had died, and I was released a few days early for her funeral. I met a man, on the plane home, who offered me a job. Knew way too much about me. And yet, being naive at the time, I drank the mead, and became his gopher. Somehow, my wife didn't stay dead, and was following me around the country while I helped this man and his bizarre friends on some mission I didn't entirely understand. Still don't, at least not now. I think I did, when I was dead.

Anyway, all the while, every few nights I would fall asleep, and be somewhere... it looked like a desert. And a man with a buffalo head would say things to me that seemed important at the time, but never made sense when I was awake. Wednesday, the man I was helping, always knew when I had those dreams. For a while, I thought they were his fault, but he wanted them to stop, and they didnt.

Wednesday died. He was... important, and old, and in the course of performing his wake, I died. I vaguely- very vaguely- remember losing things, when I was dead. My name, my coin. I remember choosing death. After everything, it made the most sense, to want the nothing. But then I was here. And I don't remember much of anything at all.

Sounds like quite the adventure.

I've died a few times myself. And I'm no stranger to dreams that don't make sense when you wake up.

But all of these memories, unless they have been altered, should be in your mind. I can help you unlock them, over time. It seems like adding all of that at once would likely be an overload, after all of that.
