It was a trick of the jungle, but the crack of that twig seemed to echo. Bouncing off trees and landing decidedly in Deb's ears. Maybe it was the newness of the noise, sharp against the soft groans she had already sort of faded out, but it was enough to jolt her awake. After the initial confusion about where she was, and why the fuck it was so bright, she remembered and cursed under her breath again. Edging over to take a peak, it didn't look like her company had spread out while she'd napped.
Wasn't exactly helping her plan to get back to the resort go very smooth, that.
Though they were annoying, and obviously a hindrance, the zombies below didn't exactly pose any immediate threat. So Deb tried to figure out what had snapped her awake. Maybe it'd be something useful, maybe it was just a good way to pass some time while she tried to figure out what the fuck she was going to do next. Because staying up on the platform another night wasn't an option.
There was a stillness below that creeped her out, and Deb found herself nervously peaking over the edge again. There were still a few of the undead looking and reaching upward, but more had started to turn another direction. Obviously they had heard something, and it had caught their attention. Could be the break she was waiting for, finally. With that thought in mind, she started shoving her meager supplies back into her pack. If the opportunity to get out of here was about to open up, she wasn't going to miss out on it. Slinging the back across her shoulders, she used the tree as leverage to pull herself into a standing position. Putting weight on her knee was still touchy, but she could grit her teeth and run.
Edging a little closer, she looked over the side again. Trying to stay quiet, but limping across the wooden platform wasn't a silent process and though a few of the creeps below broke off to track the other noise, there were still too many of them who hadn't decided to stray. At least not yet.
Lacing her fingers behind her neck, Deb stretched. Biding her time was nothing new up here, but that didn't mean she liked it anymore now then she had day one. Turning slightly as she stretched though, she caught sight of something interesting. Shuffling to the edge closest to the tree the guy was climbing, she went ahead and gingerly sat back down, letting her feet dangle over the edge for the moment. (Wasn't like the zombies could reach her.)
"Branch above you looks pretty secure," she called out in one of those whispered shouts. If only because there wasn't anything else to do anyways.
